Politics › Re: Oyo-2015: Ladoja And Akala Teamed-Up To Takeover by texaco1: 3:07pm On Jun 09, 2013
Anvaller: Well stepping on masses toes might be one thing but I don't think that is his biggest problem. His biggest problem is the apparently impending implosion within his own ACN party itself. He seems to be be underestimating the doom the effect will cause him. The issues he has with his deputy, IP vs Lamist crisis,(and mind u, the Lamist are the mainstream, and the majority) the marginalization of grass root party members, the 2nd term or no 2nd term disagreement and so on.
There is a common political habit in Nigeria, politicians abandon a party where they are aggrieved for a party where chances and opportunities are perceived. ACN profited massively from such in 2011 when PDP imploded in Oyo. I want to believe (if they have not already started) that the PDP or whatever the opposition is would capitalize on profiting from the crisis by starting to patronize all the aggrieved guys in ACN. This will further disintegrate the party's unity cos rumors will then start going around that some members are starting to talk with the opposition which will further widen distrust and lead to further marginalization. Time is still on his side now, I personally think he still has some 6 months from now to straighten things up cos by the end of this year, things will start happening very fast and it will be too much for him to catch up with. So the little time he has is now.
hmm interesting,i have not been around so i dont know what is really happening but if trully he is having internal problems withing his party then he better kiss his second term goodbye
Politics › Re: 7 PDP Governors To Float Party by texaco1: 2:57pm On Jun 09, 2013
when some of raised this issue when this apc thing started we were called all sort of names.,
this apc merger stuff is going to detrimental for acn,acn should have stayed alone and keep working towards wining more states in the sout east and south south.rather than making this merger.the parties in this so called merger are the ones that will crumble the party.i know tinubu will not let down his guard in the south west.
the only good thing that might come out of apc is acn using it to penetrate the north which i think this is what tinubu is planning.but for 2015 presidency that is totally impossible for them

danny301: I don't know why several Nigerian who claim to know it all appear to have problem with simple but logical reasonings when it has to do with their interests .... Here is just a political gossip that is yet to be confirmed by any quarter and people are already reaching conclusions and giving credits to some persons as well as giving name(s) to a supposed tactic DIVIDE AND RULE)..... And assuming the story is even true (which is quite unlikely) how is it a plus to PDP and GEJ?.... A party has 23 Governors and felt winning the 2015 election would not be easy ( According Tony Anineh)then 7 out of 23 Governors are said to be planning to break out of the party and it automatically becomes a plus to that party...... Over the year i thought deflection by major political powers like state Governors is(was) a minus to parties but today our 'Nairaland Political Analysts' are telling us something else .

Orji Uzor Kalu left PDP before 2007 as a sitting Governor and PDP lost the state, Isa Yaguda left ANPP as a serving before 2011 general election and ANPP lost the state...... Its either many Nigerians are bad political analysts or they are just blind followers that are not making good use of their brains( or both).
i wont trade insults with u,just read through intelligent people posts here and see how the whole thing favours pdp and gej.
so in ur thought u think this is a bad omen for pdp abi?we shall see.

pro01: Watching that clip would have made me cry if I still had tears left. The old man should have been accorded more dignity, at least on self-recognition as a prominent Nigerian sports figure.

I'm not sure if this manhandling took place before or after he managed to attract the attention of the president, but I'm happy that the president gracefuly granted him audience.

Hope the Minister of Sports helps bring the man's plan to fruition.
he is the one that is not respecting himself.all the fights he has been fighting how many did the fg bankrolled?there is no law that compels govt to foot this bill.if the fg isnt responding why cant he try other cooperate organistaions or multinationals?at one time he said he will be sleeping at the gate of pdp national headquaters as if he is a pensioner.he is the one bringing himself to ridicule ,maybe with this incident someone will have pity on him and bankroll the fight.but who will want to spend millions on a fight like this ?he should try state govs maybe one of them will sponsor the fight

Lifemax: I wornd GEJ abt dat old fool called TUKOR d guy came 2 destroy PDP simple
my brother the 3rd party is gonna make pdp stronger.it is a game plan ,they are breaking the opposition.the more the number of parties the more fragmented the votes will be .pdp will still remain dominant.
break the opposition and divide them.if they were moving to acn that would have been a different story .
even if the new party wins their states ,remember they are still pdp members they will stil change back.if this story is real then acn is in big big big trouble

akinalabi: Do you know the amount of votes he got in Ibadan?

I'm not a fan of Akala and I did not vote for him in 2011. But we should not mix our personal feelings about someone with our analysis.

In Oyo state today, individually if you want to name top 5 politicians that can INDIVIDUALLY garner votes, in no particular order, you will mention Ajimobi, Akala and Ladoja out of the 5. It will be foolish to ignore the coming together of two on that list like you all are doing. They might not win as there are no guarantees in politics but they can't be sneered at like its been done on nairaland.

My point here is performance does not guarantee re election. The late Bola Ige found out. Performance with knowing how to win elections is the ultimate combo. Akala relied on just knowing how to win elections and neglected every other thing. He got massive votes that you have to wonder that if he endeared himself more to the people, he would have won.

In Lagos, Fash concentrated on performance while Asiwaju did the political work. Not sure how Ajimobi wants to play it. He need the politics as much as he needs the performance. He is a smart man and I'm sure he has he own plans.
reading through ur posts i guess ur delivery has been better on the message and points i have been trying to raise and point out.well people have to understand that the real game and players are on the field and nairaland is just a fantasy island.
if ajimobi or acn is to win again they must start making peace with the grassroot and masses that feel betrayed .but if he thinks the beautification of ibadan willl win him votes then i wish him good luck

Docii001: You lack understanding, from all indications tambuwa/amaechi are going to jump parties.
Anyone who follows the current trends in Nigerian politics will be privy to this!
People like you are the problem Nigeria has today, simply put;you do not know anything.
you are the one who lacks understanding , those 2 politicians will not jump anywhere , you think tambuwal will leave pdp where he is guaranteed automatic ticket to the rep again and he will go to apc to contest where he is almost certain to lose at the end of the day ? so if u are his adviser u will tell him to decamp abi ?why is ameachi ,wammako and all the rest saying they wont leave pdp?
pdp remains the only party that can guarantee these politicians return on their investment in politics , so u think tambuwal will spend millions on a risky project like apc abi ?when he can less and make big money in pdp ?you are not a politician.
u need to read this wonderful write up by dele momodu he has said it an di quote
" In those years, he’s had the rare opportunity of approving so many appointments and distributing stupendous largesse through award of contracts at home and abroad.

Those who have benefited from him would be ready to die, if necessary, to protect their privileges and not necessarily the President. Those who are shouting at the loudest voices on the rooftops are only trying to secure their relevance and slippery grip on power. They know the truth, like you and I, that on a good day and in a clean contest it is impossible for Jonathan to win again, not because he is not trying enough but because his enough seems not to be gelling with the people. That is the simple reason his acolytes are barking like dogs to see if his opponents can be intimidated. The growling will continue and progressively become the roaring of a lion. They are not going to repeat the spin of Fresh Air this time around since the evidence on ground obviously points to the contrary."

this is the real and raw deal, none of these politicians give a damn about boko haram victims or you and me , all they are after is their pockets ,they will not do anything to please u , they don't even want to know u and i as long as the money keeps coming in and that is where they will stake their money .as far as u and i are concerned we dont exist their list of priorities

oyb: After Secondary School, [no university?]

KORO worked as a Clerical Staff, Lagos State Health Management Board, [the boys sent to d photocopy and buy groundnut]
then he moved to Union Bank at 131 Broad street.[what was he doing here - more of the same/]
He then travelled to United States. He had a brief internship stint with Houston Adult Probation Dept in 1982.[internship without university education? what was he doing?]

so his last known job was in '82?

So what else man? We know KORO root so no secret there - this rubbish is better left secret
undecided undecided undecided i am sure no be koro send that guy , the guy has done more harm to koro reputation than good

”

Young men in the troubled town, up to their
necks with the insurgency formed a vigilante
group and now go street by street exposing
Boko Haram members and handing them over
to the military. This is what led to the incident
on Friday.
i love this part.kudos to the youths in the north for doing this
with this kind of action and attitude from the youth in the north , boko haram days are numbered , if the youth and local had been doing this all along, this boko haram issue would have been dealt with long time ago and they wouldnt have lasted this long
