So, I woke up by 3am, prayed to God and started preparing for my interview at 9:30. My dad was going towards Lekki so he dropped me @ the embassy, saw those sharp embassy guys @ the entrance, trying to break the windscreen in other to get me to snap passport or staple my passport on my docs. I totally ignored the guys like plague and chilled till it was time to call the 9:30 appointment time crew. Along the line, I was sent back to go drop my flashdrive, which I didn't know was on me. Went back and threw the flash somewhere and rejoined the queue. Got in, passed all the screening exercise and was on interview queue. Actually, I wasn't praying for any window, but the VO in window 9 was just sharing blue paper like gifts. I kept my chill. Finally, I heard next and went straight to window 4. The following conversations occured.

VO: hello gud morning
Me: good morning ma (I tried to smile but my cheeks didn't allow me, maybe I was scared or something)
Vo: pass me your ds160, passport, i20 and sevis, (passed all). *kept calm*
Vo: why are you going to the US?
Me: to have my masters degree in Computer Information systems at kean uni, NJ
Vo: why kean?
Me: kean is one of the best public schools in the US, they have gud research facilities and also I got a GA position where I will be working with Prof. James Collins on his research on cyber security
Vo: how did you find out about the school?
Me: I made my research based on cybersecurity, using google, usnesw.com and gradcafe.com
Vo: who is paying for this?
Me: I got a GA position and my aunt will be paying the rest.
(na so another round of drilling started)
Vo: did you write any standardized exams?
Me: yes, I wrote GRE, had 151quant, 140verbal and 3'.5 anw (vo stops typing and was just looking at me, I tried to smile again, but my cheeks just stand still)
Vo: why did you think you got the GA?
Me: I guess the school was impressed with the quality of application materials I submitted. The minimum requirement for GA position is GPA 3.25 while I had 3.61.
Vo: what did you have in your bsc?
Me: Computer science
Vo: when did you graduate?
Me: 2013
Vo: what have u been ddoing?
Me: I work with The Bells secondary school as a system administrator, my duties are update of schools website, maintenance of computers and management of students exam results using edalaf software
Vo: how many schools did you apply to?
Me: 3, kean uni, uni of akron, ohio and university of ibadan nigeria.
Vo: why kean? (again? But I don answer dis question before na? I sha talk something again)
Me: because I will be working on a research topic with Professor James Collins and I was also offered a GA
(She was typing and typing and typing for some minutes, I just dey pray for my mind) next thing I heard was "I will be approving your visa". I just went deaf. I didn't hear anything again. I walked out of the hall majestically.

I was the second applicant the vo approved in my batch after refusing about 3 applicants.

Me: I'm interested in the student academics and career resources available at UM which integrate classroom experience with real world(*thanks to NL).

Me: Information Science with concentration in computer information systems(vo nods head)

Vo: Why this course?
Me: Well, because I want to have a career as an Information security specialist. a degree in this course will equip me with the expertise knowledge in data protection. I would be able to work in the telecoms industry upon my return to Nigeria.

vo: what have you been doing since you finished high school?
Me: i have obtained my National diploma in Computer science after which I got a job offer(vo raise head) to work as a web developer for about 10months... Currently I work as an IT support in blah blah... Telecoms.

Me: My dad

Vo separated my passport and confirmation page from my I-20.
I began to have that positive feeling.

Got to MMA at 3am...omo see people don dey ground plenty dey follow Royal Air Maroc. Well I enter queue....went through the normal procedure kon reach dem customs wey won give thr papa wahala...Nahin I strong face ooo dem say my garri n egusi with dry pepper no go go say dem go quarantine am..Thunder fire u...I carry disease ni? she talk say she go delay I say if I miss my flight she go pay am..nahin one man kon whisper to me say na 2k dem dey collect..i talk say I go give am 1k if she no gree make I dey go back home say I go sue dem...say I don record the guy voice say hin dey collect bribe..Nahin casala burst for there..we kon dey threaten each other so we kon resolve to 1k dem pass me go RAM AT554 leaving for morocco...I Sidon beside window...nahin d medium guy take off..oboy I see heaven I worship baba God immediately as I be JJC.
As the flight dey enter gallops for heaven Mehn I just dey say "U re worthy o lord invisible God the miracle worker, u re worthy o lord". Na so I reach morocco 4hrs flight. Relax for morocco airport casablanca after all necessary checkin...Na so I wait for 3hrs for my connecting flight AT200 mighty airbus from RAM..less I forget the inflight experience from naija to morocco was cool...as I took red wine...my eyes see double ooo na so so water I kon dey take to dilute Ven di tuola Maroc red wine..I enjoyed the morocco free WiFi for 3hrs.

Cutting the long story short...I enter RAM AT200 with 75% Americans inside..Mehn 8hrs flight onto Atlantic ocean..the best inflight experience so far...na twice we chop inside plane..good flight attendants .Nahin I give baba God my life to take over..the waiting game no be small oooo as I just dey ask the guy beside me say shey we neva reach ni...na so I see one girl wey come from Milan for inside plane withe her mama for vacation in NY..i for wan toast am..mehn she too pretty... I tell myself say no rush...ashbammy dey wait me lagosismyhome go vex calfvour go cry jeniver go shout.. gunther6,dicoflife,oludare,walspring,warriboy21,akin,innovative,kennyrony etc go kill me... Na so I just leave d girl after I reason all of una..

The journey continues...na so we reach JFK atlast dem no allow us land nahin from the map in front of me I see say the plane dey turn back..i kon call holyghost fire all the mammywater spirit wey detect me from Atlantic ocean kon say make plane carry me back go niaja make dem die die die by thunder fire...me no no say dem don communicate with pilot say make hin delay us for air cos space never dey..nahin I calm down..as I hear fasten ur belt we will be landing now at JFK int airport nahin I shout hallelujah...God of baba oshoffa don hear my prayer..na so we land ooo...enter JFK I dey search for WiFi but I no get na so I reach POE nahin the CBP guy say come pls...check d system...the following ensued

Commot for hotel I see some guys from Cuba for the front of there house..i go meet dem say make dem help me I wan call my mama n papa say I don reach area ooo...na so dem say make I go buy int call card for $2..i go buy am but I no fit use am as one of dem just come say hin get call credit..well I Sidon with dem nahin dem kon dey ask me how naija b say dem dey hear many things about naija..i tell d guy say make hin pass me hiniken make I use am step down..na soo dem carry crate of beer come out...nahin we start dis drinking ehn...I no pay a dime...dem carry me go chop pounded yam n vegetable soup...I no pay...na so I take dey recover my wasted money ooo...If God be for u, who can be against U...no one..

Na so I just dey flex with dem..as I dey now...I just dey wake up n I dey go meet dem make we continue our parole but as I reach there dem say dem wan go make money...Na now I see say d hustle na real thing...

texrem got to Casablanca from Lagos at 12:00pm he left for New York at 3:00pm according to him Air Maroc now plies the Lagos-Casablanca route with a 3yr old Boeing 737 and the flight was pretty decent. Spare a silent prayer for him that he passes through POE without scruples and the lord of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob makes the crooked way straight before him.


In other news Air Maroc is somewhat okay they no longer ply the Lagos - Casablanca leg with a 35 yr old plane, I will seek confirmation about the 2nd leg of the flight and post accordingly. Spare a prayer... Thanks
