The reason Ighalo started against CPV was Rohr's bias. Eguavoen and Amuneke are not stupid (sorry Rohr), they will not start an Ighalo over an Awoniyi.
I laugh you in Spanish if you think awoniyi who is the number 4 on the pecking order will start ahead of ighalo grin grin cheesy

I don't fancy Ighalo returning but as TFLASHOGEE says the body language of the NFF is that they want Ighalo back in the team and barring any injury, he will make the WC list if we qualify
The problem here is that some people on here don't want to come to the reality of ighalo's return to the national team,we giving our submission does not mean we want him but as long as ighalo is on the squad list he will always make the first 11 the problem is how do we play with him because osimehn will always start also and either we like it or not Onuachu and awoniyi are behind ighalo on the pecking order wink

No.... remember when he indirectly threw a jab at Carlo then about getting to play in his favorite position. Iwobi is better playing through the middle...
but Carlo did him a favour by playing him there after coming back from that international break because James was injured then but iwobi still didn't give him the type of performance he expected and he threw him back to the wing's wink

and let me add that throwing him around is not good for his development. It is either in AM or LW..

So what do you think is going on with Ekong? Lamps not caring shouldn't be taken literally sir. I just think his days on the bench are not yet numbered. You know some coaches come and benched players get to start playing, gerrit? So it doesn't look like anything is changing for Alex under Lamps.
so are you saying Alex would be getting a customized bench and seatbelt with inscription for ''Alex use only"

Ighalo that has over 30 caps, you still don’t know what he can do? Hell, with one cap as a substitute against Tunisia, Sadiq showed us what he can do. With one first half against Egypt, Awo showed us what he can do.

Ighalo is not one new player from nowhere we are calling to see something new he can bring to the team. He is not Amoo, we all know what he can and can’t do, the same way we know he is not better than what we have.

This World Cup is set to be one of our most promising in decades. Let us not waste it by going for name over merit.
I choose not to answer the question of you asking what can he bring because I never wanted him back to the squad but now odion is a member of the squad not because we want him but because the power at the glass house needs him there wink

If Ighalo is going to make the team then Eguavoen should sacked immediately..

we have Osimhen , Dessers , Dennis, Awoniyi , Umar Sadiq , David Okereke , Kelechi Ihenacho , Samuel Adegbenro , Simy Nwachukwu , Onuachu, Terem Moffi, Paul Mukairu e.t.c. as strikers... so anybody mentioning Ighalo's name is very ignorant of Nigerian strikers...
we shouted this for months on here but eventually ighalo came back into the team and now he change his club because they prevented him for coming to afcon and he has the backing of the nff president I won't blame Eguavoen for his inclusion if he makes the squad bro wink

To your Iheanacho question, I have one answer: Nigeria 1-0 Egypt.

Coaches try to accommodate Nacho because he can do that. Now what can Ighalo do? I am still waiting for your response.
but same Iheanacho was off against tunisa and I don't know what ighalo can do till the coaches show us that wink

grin grin grin you can attack no problem, but many on here know I never supported ighalo back into the team and now he his here in the team by the intervention of nff president so how do expect the coaches not to accommodate him into the team wink

You do see the problem with your argument right? “Odion’s best days”, so we want to have a team structured to make a particular player score more goals at the expense of the team? We want to turn to Man U and their Ronaldo saga? At least Ronaldo will offer you a goal almost every game + excellent shooting + more fluid link up play.
so what have we be doing to accommodate Iheanacho and as long as ighalo is considered as a super Eagles player he will always be ahead of both awoniyi and Onuachu and won't seat on the bench he will start with osimehn so how do we do that if not play him upfront with osigoal.

This is not about telling but ability-wise. Never felt Ighalo as a support striker/creative midfielder kind of player. So, I do not find him suitable for that role.
yeah he isn't ideal for the position but can't lie to ourselves or pretend about knowing he won't make the squad after coming out of retirement and once ighalo makes the squad list he will definitely start wink

So the lackluster display from Ighalo compared to the energetic play from Osimhen in the same game is now attributed to the coach? SMH.

Even a blind man could see that Ighalo was not on the same wavelength as Osimhen was by miles. Awo is not far behind from Osimhen. Sadiq too. Onuachu is even more prolific, albeit in a lower tier league. Do we drop them all just to make sure Ighalo gets an assured spot in the team? If that is not favoritism then what is?

By the way, if you can mention one on-pitch quality Ighalo brings that is better than what we have (excluding Osimhen) I will concede to your argument. Just one, no more.
baba like it or not ighalo is in the team for now till he announce his retirement again and if he is in the team we would have to mention him in the squad and he won't seat on the bench that am sure of so how do we accommodate him is the option I gave up there expect if you think Onuachu and awoniyi are ahead of him in this present Squad smiley

TheGoodJoe:

If you play Ighalo and Osimhen upfront, who plays the creative role among the two? Remember, one strike will help prevent outnumbering in the middle.

So, one striker will have the quality to play as a ten. So who will play it, Ighalo or Osimhen?

I have never seen any of them playing such roles.
ighalo will do that remember his day's at Watford their captain Deeney comfortable did the dirty work upfront making ighalo flourish by getting the goals so I expect ighalo to do same for osimehn he try doing it against cape Verde but it their first time being together and if Eguavoen would be using 4-4-2 he would tell both what he wants

Osimhen should be first striker then gidigbo ighalo looks like he still have something to offer more than Sadiq and awoniyi for now ,I just have to say this despite the likeness I have for awo bobo ,onuachu is another man in the picture but should be used as a super sub when things doesn’t go well
if Eguavoen will be using 4-4-2 then let osimehn and ighalo spear Head the attack then Onuachu seat on the bench, the problem come be say where nacho go start from as he will have to settle for a place in the midfield/ wing or seat on the bench which I don't see happening wink why I choose ighalo to start is that baba Sabi drag defenders and he will help reduce much pressure on osimehn thou we know na osigoal be the go to guy for goals.

no right thinking coach who has the luxury of players scattered in top leagues all over Europe will ignore them for local based players in the name of quota system as witnessed during keshi’s time with the super eagles. All was to make way for desperate home based players as a marketing tool to ship them off to obscure leagues in Europe and Asia

Keshi knew it will be difficult to coerced exposed pros in top European leagues to dump their agents and sign with his management team inorder to have a chance in the national team so he gave almost 50% slot to local based players who will do whatever he says just to make the team

All those 2 months training with local based players when you have seasoned pros in europe was just waste of tax payers money cheesy

Imagine dropping an Imoh Ezekiel who had over 15 goals in that season in the colors of one of Belgians top clubs standard liege for a Uchebo from the same league who didn’t score up to 6 goals with relegation strugglers cercle
brugge

Until then taiye Taiwo was our best left back and was doing well in the colors of dynamo kiev with ideye and lukman but they all got ignored just to make room for oshaniwa and co

Abdul ajagun was in his 1st season with Greek giants panathiniakos and performed well but was not deemed good enough for a chance in the team

Uche and martins were banging in goals for their clubs but got ignored

Aluko was doing well with hull city and arguable their best player in the championship then but he never got a chance. Even prior to the afcon triumph a year before the World Cup he was the shining light in Glasgow rangers but to keshi he wasn’t good enough and uzoenyi was better than him

Do you know eve to the submission of the World Cup list keshi and the nff had a big fight because Osaze wasn’t listed for the tournament? It took last minute intervention of top officials in the nff to add his name

Mk una leave tori for another day
emekus why not critize keshi also for bringing in Sunday mba or winning the afcon with the frindge players and also going to the second round of the world cup with Dem or was Martin and uche not in the 2010 world cup and was yakubu not a top striker when he clearly missed an open net, perior to us winning the 2013 nations cup was it not the pros that executes the previous ones we kept on loosing in the semi final and final and celebrating golden bronze, today Sunday mba a frindge player, has a golden medal at afcon with a golden goal which is missing in some of our so called important stickers profile cool keshi choice of player's worked for him irrespective of him being controversial or not every manager will always have thier preferred kind of player's Same as Rorh and Eguavoen and amunike will do same The earlier you know this the better for you wink

Some players didn’t made it to the afcon under eguavoen and some people where accusing eguavoen, some where even crying that bassey that didn’t play under rohr didn’t make the squad but I defended the squad ,my opinion was that akpoguma should have made the squad ahead of ndah and Ebuehi ahead of shehu and nothing much ,I didn’t even take it too serious self

A whole boss like amunike go work under eguavoen, someone that’s even interested in the job ,water don pass garri grin

Majority of our local coaches are shady but I am still glad eguavoen is in charge even though amunike might have some little influence

Where is the conspiracy theory I brought here ?

Same me that was supporting eguavoen appointment before the afcon and still after the afcon

So what’s wrong in my saying our local coaches are shady if I may ask ?

I trust eguavoen and I like his afcon squad ,but I don’t trust amunike .
baba I no say you bring conspiracy theory but you read submissions about what I pointed out there.

You are free to air your opinion on whether our coaches are shady or not but soon people will tag this coaches being shady when they invite player's that doesn't suit some people here they will be quick to call them out for collecting bribes before calling does players.

Well it fine if you don't trust amunike but hopefully they do the right thing that will lead us forward but I don't think amunike is shady.

Where in my post did i call Amuneke or Eguaveon shady? I respect Eguavoen a lot cox he has never been accused as a shady person. Stop getting worked up dude.

Some naija coaches are shady. Is salisu not a corrupt mofo? Wasn't he caught? Isn't he still part of the coaching crew?
I was talking to Andrew who said Nigeria coaches are shady and I said we should conclude since some people already have that mind set and already saying more useless players will floored the national team as a result of having local coachs let just conclude it will be same under Eguavoen since we wanna start judging them when they haven't started.
