So I decided to use Taxify on arrival and am seeing 200 as Base fare as against 300 in lags, 5.5 waitING time per min.

So I request and dude calls me, we start the trip, oga driver, where is your phone, he said he left it with a fellow driver. So I asked him how he'll end the trip and he said it's about 4000 from Airport to AYA. Meanwhile my app shows 3150 to 3300.

He said they do drop pin at airport and bla bla bla.
I just discovered the trip didn't start at my own app and am wondering how it happened since he called me from the request I sent.

There seems to be some mago mago here. He said he left his phone with a fellow driver who is number 27 on uber queue while he is no 1

I just don't understand
I won't give him more than 3500 shikena.
It's obviously an offline trip. Abeg how una de do am. I have heard about plenty plenty offline trips on this forum.

Please do not forget to insure your car, insurance should be seen as a must. Few weeks my friends driver had a major accident around ozumba Mbadiwe and the cost of repairs totalled N850k, glad the repairs didn't come out from his pocket but insurance.
Bringing out the cash to insure your vehicle may look big at that time but you have to feel the pain today and smile tomorrow.

3.GPS error

There's an app riders use to alter the drivers GPS to the destination as soon as you start trip.

Let us be honest with ourselves.. The "assurance" deposit is the common sense thing to do . This is a no brainer, a driver that is serious should be able to drop at least part of his assurance deposit . I don't fully agree that a guarantor should be involved in any shape of form of assurance deposit at all.. A drivers assursnce is enough. Lets us change the narrative people, but most uber/taxify partners will not listern.. That is why most are broke and in debt.. At the beginning of the thread, I said that maintenance costs will run people out of uber. And boy am I correct.. This is a tough business and also fleet company needs the assurance deposit more than anybody else. This is the best way to go. Cab business in Yankee sometimes ask for deposit, hotel will ask for deposit . We as business man and women, need to follow western business model and see how we can incorporate that into our own business.. If it works for them it should work for us too.

Dont mind them ,trying to play ludo with our brains.if they like, make them use different types of moniker and rent car for 10k monthly ,it's their business.Certain biz models can best work on testing it. Maybe it's a stolen car with no cost,and hv free auto repair agreement with mechanic and part sellers. Mtchewww we know them lazy Nigerian, trying to play us .

Leaving dru23 aside, if you invest 1.5m in this business, can you collect 25k as rent knowing fully well how much its going to cost you to service ur vehicle and the general maintenance. Met this rider today. She made a video of me and reported me to taxify when I told her I can't continue a trip of 4km and we have waited over 1hr in between.. She insisted I must stay with her all day.{cos she went to buy soap at ebeano chevron, stop at some places, go take her bath and then go out} . I recorded her audio toowhere she was calling me animal idiot.. and so on as Well.

Now, you are beginning to sound like a taxify rep or something.
You have failed to understand what capitalism is all about.
You have also failed to understand that Uber reserves the right to do whatever they want with their business and it is your prerogative to either go with their terms or look elsewhere.

They didn't give you an employment letter, neither did they enter into any trade agreement with you. If you are not happy, again, look elsewhere.

The uber I'm reading about here is even lenient. On a similar platform where I work, something as simple as laying a complaint against the customer care would get your account permanently banned. And you wouldn't do anything about it.
