rhymz: Guy don't quote if all you want to do is talk angrily and insult me, I have had enough of that that is why I created this thread. As for the rest of your posts, I have nothing to say you, it is your opinion just as those expressed in the thread are mine don't comment like you have an axe to grind with me. At this point, it is needless to debate with you, the unneccessary combative tone and language are enough pointers for me to know what is it you are up to, I don't have time for such frivolities, move on and let it rest biko!
Tut tut, I don't understand where ur conclusion that I'm angry is coming from. U seem to find it easy to jump to these with the barest minimum of facts available to you.

What's d point of an argument if it's not combative? And I observed how everyone who opposed ur views are labeled as either insulting or aggressive....there's no single dissenting view u find worthy of response and yet you want Seun to take ur suggestions hook line and sinker....work on ur tolerance baas, u can rise higher than this..

rhymz: Nigerians can sabi glorify mediocrity no be small.
If this is not intolerance I don't know what is. Because people disagree with your way of doing things, it renders all else but you mediocre and sycophants?

rhymz: Mr Seun is prolly afraid that if he goes strict on offenders viewership ratings might go down, he would rarher it continued and increase participation if that is not exploitation I wonder what else to call it.
Jumping to conclusions based on information known only to you..........

-Do you know the logistics involved in setting up the gimmicks you are proposing?

-Do you know for a fact that he has never tried to set same up unsuccessfully?

-Do you know the funding that went into Facebook to make it what it is and you know for a fact that Mr. Seun can access the same level of funding but he's just decided to ignore the problem?

-Do you actually have a result of a survey that informed your conclusion that banning trollers on the forum will actually not lead to an influx of neutral members who'd hitherto been kept away by trollers and thus increase the total traffic on the site?

-Do you know if he's working actively around-the-clock to fix this problem?

But of course, these are all irrelevant! Shey u have ur internet connection and device now, and u can always post what you like, never mind the accuracy of your information, you can always generalize and since he's touted to be rich; BULL's EYE! What an easy target...

Methinks you and the trollers you complain so bitterly about are not that so different after all, you operate on the same principles of intolerance, myopia, bias and stubbornness the only difference being that your own language is more refined, but ur messages are more similar than you'd like to admit.

rhymz: The problem everyone else thinks it is an impossible problem to solve. Imagine sb comparing NL to FB? NL is a discussion forum, FB is basically a social networking site for connecting with old friends and meeting new ones. On NL you hace the pleaseure of paeticipating anonymously, FB does not grant such privilege. And it is this privilege that makes people think they can come in shyt and go with out qualms. FB is more personal, the audience you will most like be addressing will basically be people you know or friends of people you know. Trust me, no matter how rude anyone thinks they can get, you woulsn't want to do it to people who can easily find you out and deal with you. It is easy here to argue, debate and post trash here because you know outside of this place we are all strangers, this makes it more imperative to have a stricter way managing the forum so it does not fall in the hands of mediocres.
I don't know what people mean by freedom of expression but it should be noted that no freedom is absolute in itself. It has to fulfil certain pre-requisite before and stay within its limits to have validity, YES. You have rights to express yourself once your expression rights does not lead to harmful effects on other people. Let us be truthful for once and call a spade a spade, Seun is not doing enough, period!
Lemme' understand u; for all the reasons you've stated above, there's no trolling, sectarianism or tribalism on facebook?
You couldn't be farther from the truth! Google "insults on facebook" and u'll be surprised....
And yet it's an enterprise running into Billions of Dollars unlike NL wich's still being run on generators and car batteries (if we're to believe the author)......but still you want to make them function alike?

No freedom is absolute in itself? Of course, only problem is this involves YOUR OWN freedom to criticize other people's use of a public forum. You want YOUR RIGHTS to infringe on and indeed DEPRIVE others of theirs?

What is the assurance you have that majority of users don't prefer the way it is now and you are actually the one trying to force mediocrity on us? (Just musing).

So you see sir
, carrying on and on about what the admin can do may not be the best way of resolving issues, you can easily take responsibility for the change you want, if u're so sure that's what everyone wants too, get ur like minded colleagues and start advocating for the change you want instead of looking at the admin every time rain stops falling in Nigeria....

Nairaland GeneralRe: Seun Osewa Stop Exploiting The "Yoruba Vs Igbo" Tribal Fights by TheBeam(m): 5:35am On Apr 02, 2013
rhymz: Exactly! Does it mean ip's can't be ban as well? The excuse of multiple IDs seems to me like a very convenient way to ignore the obvious lack of interest in being decisive to solving the problem.
If offensive users get banned from their I.Ps, it will be difficult for such a user to register another I.D using thesame I.P and even if he decides to change I.P and register again, once he continues in his ways, he gets another ban again until he gets the msg, I doubt he will have time going through the hassles of using i.p softwares to create more and then go through series of registration process over and over again.
The fact is the instruments of correction are rarely used or left only at the discretion of the Mods, if it is taken seriously, it will definitely reduce a great deal if not stopped.
Gotta say.....ur idea though admirable is somehow childish.

Even facebook doesn't ban users left right and center like u're suggesting and God knows there are enough catfights and cases of tribalistic bias there.

It is a public forum, and every one is entitled to his/her views even though they are downright senseless and despicable, u can either correct or ignore 'em.

Also, challenging someone to a higher standard of operation where u've not proven u have any idea what it takes 2 do what they do is hypocritical and presumptuous, if it were as easy as u "theorize" surely we'd have seen it in action on some sites, any site?

Finally this is a business venture, you have a problem with Guiness selling alcohol? Take it up with CPC or FGN to ban all alcohol producers in the country not Guinness country MD. If he stops his production and lose billions of Nairas, does that stop Heineken, Star, Gulder and others from taking his mkt or others coming up in his place? Bigots'll always be there for us to deal with and it's a measure of our ability to solve problems if we can stand against them continuously and preach against their hate not marginalize them so they can in-breed, evolve and start using bombs!

Yeah I just got the message from our Oga at the Top too. The same named Oga I mentioned before the messages started flying few minutes ago;MADAMME BANKE AMOLE-ADAMS.
She is the main Oga at the Top o provided PwC's recruitment is concerned. Very graceful, adorable but a strict Oga o.
Unsupervised Online test next on line. U are all advised to knot all nuptial ties with all SHL looking materials u have.
Inother words get married to all SHL materials U have in your possession.
Experience has taught me that 'Speed and Accuracy' will be of paramount essence in this stage.
Or may be they will start with the Personality questionnaires as they usually do before poceeding to Online tests.. Whichever be the case, I wish U all success at Large..
Shallom
Lol. Always tot she was a he

kcpumpin: The preamble to this your comment almost ushersed me into the 'offensive'.
Alas, I saw the rest of your comment and I suggested to myself 'U must be a smart writter' with a terrific sense of humour albeit sacarstic..

But honestly, u never can tell if that dude is related to Banke o (PwC's Chief HR Staff).
I know many who beg that woman in the name of man-know-man to help them scale through but she keeps telling them how that sort of opaque help is beyond her power. Some even here in NL.
Don't ask me how I know plz..
Alas? Lol!!!!!

U really wanted 2 stick it 2 me huh? Ntoor.

Nice compliments though, it has really lifted my day just that bit higher.

Meanwhile our Ogas at the top don start dey send invite 4 online assessment!!
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Pwc Graduate Recruitment Nigeria – 2013 by TheBeam(m): 12:09pm On Mar 22, 2013
kcpumpin: Do u have any idea why she and others were not shortlisted.
But of course he does! In fact they weren't shortlisted cos he was having a bad day! Is he PWC HR?

Just joking man......... But seriously, it's probably
cos the qualifications or presentation of same doesn't match the requirements. U know this, I know it why bother fretting over why again?

If u've not gotten such a mail, I think it's better u concentrate on ur preparation 4 now joor.

Tetegh: @ Audinowing & the Beam, how was it yers'day, wats the nature of the questions?
Just a bunch of questions about you and your
suitability for the position. You might need to
remember your WAEC result too as it most
definitely will be discussed. Apart from that, it's
all simple questions based on your knowledge
of current happenings and your ability to add
value to them.
Cheers.
