FamilyRe: Couples With Thriving Marriages, Please Share Your Story by TheBlackSaint(m): 4:33pm On Apr 02, 2023
Maturity is the key to a successful marriage. If you’re both mature, love will grow. Also, I live by the maxim: Do on to others as you would be done by. I apply this to all my relationships but especially with my wife. As an example I wouldn’t speak to her rudely since I don’t like to be spoken to that way. In addition let your wife (spouse) be able to express herself no matter what. As for husbands my advice is that you are principled/consistent but your objective should not be about winning an argument or having the last word. When you have a disagreement say what you have to say truthfully but compassionately and leave it at that, it may not appear so, but she will later reflect on what you have said. We also have formal bible study and prayer together at least 3 days a week, and we almost daily discuss informally about bible passages/topics and sometimes we suddenly realize that we have been talking about the Bible for over an hour. These moments are refreshing and very precious to us.

The most sensible post. I fear you may have to explain it in the most elementary way as most posters here do not understand the mechanism of debt and finance.

Silverbird won't be closed down. the difference is that it will be under new management and the proceeds will go to settling their debts and paying off ancillary costs. AMCON is the Federal govt stepping in. If not, the bank would have to sell the properties to regain their money and people would be out of jobs.

Lucky Bastard cheesy

He'll probably did Law School in ABJ.
He'll do NYSC in Lagos or Abuja or wherever dafuq he likes!
Then, before the service year is over, he would have processed his LL.M admission to one of the top 10 law schools in the world.

After his Masters, he'll be smuggled into Ministry of Justice or Legal Dept of NNPC or NIMASA. He'll have a nice car and bachelor crib in Maitama/Asokoro and a lot of hens will be on his matter. If he likes, he play around with them before settling down with another British educated girl from a Royal family in the SouthWest.

If he likes, he may run for office and win (like Lai Mohammed's son)
or if he is an intellectual, he'll open his own firm. He may end up like Mr Osinbajo who had 'humble beginings' from Corona School

All his children will be born in Canada or the US, giving them a ticket to the world. They'll lack nothing and the cycle will continue.

Lucky Bastard
Although your post reeks of cynicism, it is one of the funniest and realistic posts I've seen on Nairaland.

This is a highly irresponsible thread. It truly baffles how people are arranging match ups online and inciting violence. The truth is that the government over the years has let the agbero menace fester. It is time to put a stop to it. It is unfair that they are allowed to extort money from people who have invested their resources into legitimate businesses. I'm sure that if we put ourselves in the shoes of the traders here this thread will take a turn for the better.

Absolute nonsense. Why would you post such inflammatory rubbish. Do you derive some perverse satisfaction putting others down? Please stop this infantile nonsense.

I am just really a music person but if there's anything I'm convinced of, it is that I'm done with religion.
I beg of you, do not say that you are done with religion(Christ). It is commendable that you do not accept dogma( a major problem in the church) but Christ is real and was sent by the true and loving God to reconcile us to him. For many years I did not believe in God and felt nothing but pity for those that did. I'm eternally grateful that I have experienced God's love and pray the same for you. In Jesus' name.

PoliticsRe: Ten Places Buhari Can Get A Trillion Naira Within 90days In Office by TheBlackSaint(m): 5:08pm On May 14, 2015
This appears a rather crude way of recovering stolen funds. The figures are arbitrary. There must be a more strategic method of recovering the funds. This ultimately will involve financial institutions, law enforcement agencies and diplomatic pressure must be applied on our allies who encourage the criminal political elite by granting them residency in their respective countries.
I'm confident that General Buhari has the will and clear ideas on how best to recover stolen funds.

The quotation mark is not needed if you read the entire cable sent from the U.S embassy in Lagos. They didn't have to quote him verbatim, his thoughts was cabled to their office in the U.S.
Did you expect the embassy staffs to tape conversations when they meet politicians, and would their host agree to that?

Embassy officials don't start recording when they have informal or formal meetings with "friendly" politicians in their host countries, to think they do would be naive.
That's a reasonable response but I will just mention that Diplomats are allowed to give their opinions in their reports(how do I know this?), and it is clear that that is exactly what has happened here.

Don't be an id.iot, the embassy was quoting what Tinubu said.
Then show us the quotation signs. I'll save you the trouble, there are none. I'm not offended that you have chosen to call me names but I'm sure that you have the ability get your points across without resorting to insults.

The highlighted part destroys your argument. Are you implying that Tinubu is addressing himself in the 'third person'? You are clutching at straws here. He never said it but it suits your narrative to peddle this nonsense.

PoliticsRe: BOKO HARAM Is A Fraud!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - BUHARI by TheBlackSaint(m): 10:27pm On Apr 27, 2015
Boko Haram existed and was a menace well before President Jonathan assumed office.
BabaOneChance:
Yes, it's a fraud. This is not how they started. The agreement was to disrupt GEJ's government by attacking only Christians and churches, but they went as far as bombing mosques and threatening imams. Almost 300 girls are missing now. Have they forgotten the 77 virgins reward for each Jihadist? Why descend so low as kidnapping underage, smelly secondary school girls who barely know how to wash their pants! This is so unbelievable.
These ingrates must be exterminated coz they've crossed the boundary!
PoliticsRe: A Massive Earthquake Just Hit Mount Everest. by TheBlackSaint(m): 9:05pm On Apr 25, 2015
Absolutely spot on as per climate change. What worries me though is that the mainstream media in Europe and North America is complicit in this climate change scam and our unthinking leadership in Nigeria has bought this lie hook, line and sinker.quote author=PPAngel post=33094275]A seismic activity on the world's highest peaks is an indication that our earth's crust is really active and heating up!

The only answer to why such excess energy is availlable is the fact that the net energy from the sun is exponentially increasing.

Currently, a new paper has highlighted decreasing carbon di oxide levels due to increasing solar luminicity. Plants are virtually starving due to break down of CO2 due to higher levels of solar radiation.

Climate change due to human activities is a big fat lie. Our sun is heating up and that's the true reason behind global warming.

NASA knew along since the 80's that our sun is getting more hotter but they doused it down with climate change b.S

As I post this the US govt is pumping chemicals into the atmosphere to increase atmospheric albedo and reduce net energy at the surface.

EMPs have continued to increase and every indicator shows our sun is boiling up!
I don't think that he is paid. It's more a case of attention seeking. I have met a few like him. Anything to rock the boat is fair game to them. They thrive on controversy and always want to be the centre of attention and they must always have the last word.
May the Killer Party that has caused millions of death, poverty, unemployment, thievery, retrogression and executive rascality Roast In Pieces

This is Comedy Gold. I noticed on another thread that Barcanista had the cheek to criticize individuals that defected from PDP to APC. It takes a man totally incapable of introspection to do this. It appears he loves attention for attentions sake, so he will say anything to be controversial. He almost certainly does not believe 98.26% of what he types or says.
PoliticsRe: Nigeria Threatens To Shut Down MTN Over Xenophobia In South Africa by TheBlackSaint(m): 4:12pm On Apr 17, 2015
I don't beleive the story. First of all who is Tolu Adesanya and in what capacity did he speak. Anyone can make up random names to make their report appear credible. Having said that, it is immature, infantile and downright self defeating to attack South African businesses in Nigeria in response to the horrifying events in SA at the moment. These companies employ thousands of Nigerians and are major contributors to Nigeria's GDP. We must not let our emotions overrule our senses. We must act sensible at times like this.
What is required is a long term strategy to re establish Nigeria's soft power internationally but as is often said charity begins at home, so our focus now must be to create socio-economic policies that will strengthen local institutions and companies. If we can do this then our citizens who would otherwise have migrated will have confidence in the system/nation and will have little reason to leave.
PoliticsRe: PDP Won’t Insult Buhari The Way APC Attacks Jonathan – Metuh by TheBlackSaint(m): 3:48pm On Apr 17, 2015
I'm unsure what he means when he says PDP is built on "values, tradition and utmost respect for democratic tenets". I must have only imagined 16 is greater than 19, Ekitigate and the farce that was the PDP presidential primaries. Insincere rhetoric from this party gets more nauseating by the day. Metuh strikes me as a man who will try to worm his way to APC but I suspect that he will be "welcomed" without any enthusiasm.
PoliticsRe: Arise O' PDP, The Future Is Bright by TheBlackSaint(m): 10:15am On Apr 04, 2015
You are absolutely correct. If their approach in opposition is similar to the style of governance, then I fear for the state of the opposition in Nigeria. Democracy is unbalanced without a strong and credible opposition.
PS: Please let us all refrain from call President Jonathan names. While I agree that he ran a shockingly bad government, we can make our points without resorting to insults and name calling.
deemdeem:

It's not unexpected. Already there is a precedence. When they were suppose to campaign and leverage on Jonah-daft so called achievement and selling it to the populace, they were busy looking for Buhari's certificate.
PoliticsRe: Arise O' PDP, The Future Is Bright by TheBlackSaint(m): 9:59am On Apr 04, 2015
Unless I'm mistaken, the write was meant to be about the prospects of a PDP revival but what you have written instead suggests that PDP does not have a strategy to fulfill this as you have spent more time writing about APC than PDP.
