I always wondered why and how some Argentine names always sound Italian .....wow! Now I understand.

As for Argentina they don't even hide their negrophobia ...Even when Nigeria played Argentina and we were proving hard to beat we all saw how erratic and mad maradonna became on the pitch, pouring all sort of racist slurs on our players..
Is that true ?

Yes, they are first of all Arabs. They moved from Arabian Peninsula after end of Roman Empire, bringing Islam.
Same way we are blacks or Igbo, Edo, Yoruba, Kanuri before being Nigerian or African. Geographically Morocco may be on the African continent, racially, culturally and spiritually, they are Middle East/Arabs. Fact.

I support Moroccans because of football politics. If Morocco or indeed all African nations did well, the argument to give Africa more slots in FIFA WC would be stronger. Africa should have around 7 slots. Nigeria, Egypt and or Algeria/SA presence in Qatar 2022 would have added more African flavour.

Fact is that France, England, Dutch, Portuguese and even German teams are more African than Morocco team otherwise.

I never support Argentina due to their history with black people. It used to have one of the highest concentrations of blacks in South America around 1850s.

How could Portuguese and Spaniards fill neighbouring Brazil and other countries around like Columbia with African slaves and somehow left Argentina all white? Who worked the fields that generated so much wealth?

Today, who knows that Tango, the national Argentine dance comes from the Congolese (Kikongo) word "Ntangu" for the sun, a dance mimicking the sun's movement through the sky? I guess very few.

As blacks were either systematically eliminated or forced to flee to nearby countries, white Europeans especially Italians were shipped in from Europe. Italy didn't exist as a single country then as it is now. Bits of it were under Austrian, Spanish and other people's control or were small principalities. Emigration was attractive to Italians.

For a former Spanish colony, people don't ask why so many Argentines bear Italian surnames?

Removing politics or history from football/sports or anything is an illusion.

If not why is Russia often not allowed to participate as a nation in Olympics?

You guys have started again with these your Arab of a thing, if you are supporting Croatia support Croatia and stop giving excuses, I don’t know why Morocco own is different you know most of North Africa are Arab so what is wrong if they dedicate their win to Arab ? Example like someone from the northern Nigeria win maybe a track event and dedicate it to Islam or all Muslim community does that makes him/her less Nigeria? Or maybe someone from India dedicates his/her win to the whole of Hinduism, does that makes him/her less Asia ? Support who you want to support and stop giving excuses
Bro, please don’t waste your time accommodating ignorance

samuel051:
you are still confused, That's because op wasn't aware of his death few hours earlier.

People not aware of the death so some people within few hours, days or weeks may likely see them at some point (not everyone encounters this stuffs though because every human operates on different frequencies) it is different from seeing someone that you are aware of being dead ages or years ago.

In ops case,he wasn't aware the guy he was dodging was already dead earlier in the day.
If he was, there is no way op would have seen him, certainly not around where those who already knows he is dead lives.
Fair enough. Then back to square one with my question. Why this is phenomenon is prevalent in Africa and almost non existent in the west ? You wouldn't find anyone in the west with firsthand experience. But in Africa, just in one neighborhood, many people would know of someone who had seen a dead person.
FamilyRe: My Dead Neighbour by TheCongo2: 10:55am On Dec 16, 2022
samuel051:
That's because people who have such experience are people who moved from other part of the country to the west. These akudayas don't reside where they can easily be seen, they moved to far places.

In the community I schooled,a very popular musician died, this is someone with about 4wives and multiple kids.

Roughly 15 or 20years after his death,a lady from neighbouring African country came to his family house with 3kids to look for his people, telling them how he branched off to greet an old time childhood friend and will soon join them.
Long story short, she was shown his grave and told had died some 15 to 20years ago(can still remember the day this man died and a distant aunt related to him who visits us was crying while breaking the news to my mom,I was live 5 to 6 years old then) she brought photos of them and even the kids are his cabon copy.

My point is these people move far from where they could easily be identified and even at that the world is a small place to hide.
You keep talking about migration or people moving far away from where they could be easily identified. That is your theory. But let us stick to the facts in OP’s story. As the subject line indicates, this was his dead neighbour who didn’t migrate nor moved far away.
FamilyRe: My Dead Neighbour by TheCongo2: 10:37am On Dec 16, 2022
samuel051:
it happens everywhere, just that the whites hardly migrate for greener pastures. Or you think majority of whites in Africa that has refused to return to their countries are legit people.

Eg Lagos is a very busy place, people migrate there in thousands every year, there is possibility of everyone having a relation in Lagos and environ, hence the possibility of seeing similar things during the daily hustling.

But a white family can migrate from one part of the states, say utah to Arizona or California,he gets a good job and drives through the traffic daily to his office, not some busy crowded places, where do you expect him to see such, except in park, shopping mall or some other eventful places he rarely goes .
It is the fictitious character you had created in this scenario who doesn’t attend crowded places. A good number of people in the west take crowded subway daily.

I guess in the OP’story he is talking about his neighbour who lived closed to him and who didn’t migrate anywhere.
In Africa you find plenty of stories like this, people seeing their dead relative and neighbours who had lived close to them.
Or sometime it could be the dead relative sending someone to visit his family.

I have been in the west for 30 years and never at once heard anyone around me talk about someone in their family or cycle of friends who had seen a dead person.
I have never heard of any dead person sending money or his wife and kids to visit his family.

ELDER

Saturday,, August 6, 2022

I went to "family house" to reconnect with my neighbours and barb my hair. My barber didn't come in time though the salon was open as early as 8. Other barbers were already at work; but you know the thing with a black man, once he gets a good barber, it's for life (or so it seems at most).

Took a blunt (will quit smoking this year), ate breakfast with my old neighbours, then went to work.

Sunday,, August 7, 2022

Before church, I went down back to the mainland, to trim my beards as I couldn't do that the previous day. While I waited my turn, my neighbour of 22 years, Elder, (God rest his soul), came around.

All our adugbo Bro started teasing him amid heavy laughter (he was loved by all)
"Elder your mama n papa don go morning mass, second mass go start laidis, you no dey go church?

"Elder: As I dey here so, holy spirit dey my body. I be temple laidis, make una no worry.

Immediately he set his eyes on me, he screamed in delight, asked about my family n promised not to leave me unless I do Sunday for him.

Since I have a policy of giving people only what I take ( I don't drink, plus he doesn't roll a joint), I opted to buy him anything else he wanted to eat.

Na so Elder carry me, enter "family house", from fried meats, to indomie to pepper soup, Elder had his fill. Though I didn't know when he took one Budweiser.
He has a thing with drinks. He took one too many after that I guess. I left around evening.

Monday morning woke me up to a draw I won on sports betting that netted me 38k (Argentina Jnr vs Huracen), I went to work late though n dropped by at a warehouse close to my previous home later at noon.

At the warehouse, towards the side where they offload fridges, I saw my manchi, Bro Elder, with his Bongo White trousers n shoes with his worn out suit top. I just greet am dodge, so he doesn't bill me like the Sunday that just finished yesterday. He was saying something about people not remembering him to give him driving jobs. That it was only when we need something that we remember people.

This was around after 1to 2.

Finally got home around 11 pm. As I laid to rest after freshening up, my younger sister screamed from her phone that "brother, my friend say brother elder af die"

I was like how come,?
Wetin you talk?
It's a lie
Are you sure?
Who tell you?
Wetin happen?
...

Elder died at Ojodu Berger, same day at about to 9 in the morning, from a truck that lost its brakes. About four people died on the spot.

He was literally mangled with his insides strewn over the road among the wreckage.

WITH THE SAME CLOTHES I SAW HIM IN DURING 1-2PM!!

Few days, before he was laid to rest, I had a very very vivid dream (if it's truly a dream),

He was angry, called me by my first name and said "Uchechukwu, I no happy. I dey vex". I was glad to see him while muttering "Bro Elder, no vex" till I woke up.

This world has another dimension than what our senses n science defines n shows us.

I dedicate this post to all who passed away painfully this year.
Hmm... very interesting.
I believe akudaya does exist.

Now the question is why is it only in Africa that most of experience encounter happen.
There are very rare instances of Akudaya encounter in the West but in Africa almost everyone knows someone who had gone through such experience.

The funny thing is the only goal that Morocco had conceded in this world cup is against Canada.
And Morocco 's goalkeeper was born in Montreal, Canada.
