Large breeds dog always want to play stubborn, let him know you are the pack leader and Why don’t you get a cage outside the house and let him be there, he’s a large breed and I’m sure you won’t be keeping him indoor forever so let him get use to the outdoor from now cause it seems like he’s going to be a stubborn dog, release him only when you want to feed him and times for him to poo and let him know only your face most.

So sorry I can feel your pain cause I have a Lhasa too and she is picky, she eats what she likes I think that’s common for Lhasa apso dogs.
Buy and boil shawa fish and mix with cooked noodles waste, mix the fish well with the noodles and serve her or buy can food jojo preferably, I’m sure your dog should be cool with either of the two cause that’s only what my dog eat, nothing else aside those two.

So my brother advised to go cut Gemma hair a lil cause it’s much and dark and he’s always scared of stepping on her in the midnight lol
Guys Gemma refuses to eat kibbles till this age, I don’t know what her problem is she only eat fish mixed with noodles,egg and milk very well and she always follow everyone with plate around the house like she will eat the food, her matter tire me. I gave her cake last night and she keeps coming for more.
Check out Gemma at 5month and few weeks.

Do you just start giving her Kibbles? I noticed that in Gemma too when I just started feeding her kibbles, she eat very little of her kibbles even she haven’t finish a whole bad till now it’s like she doesn’t really like it but she eat fish and noodles and other feeds very well

It is clear and boldly written by the OP that it’s his first time so you should know that he doesn’t have a better idea and because he hasn’t gotten a cauc now doesn’t mean the ones he have now aren’t dogs and shouldn’t be taken care of. Guys here on Nairaland tends to forget its not everyone that keeps dog for breeding purpose, some keep dogs just for the love they have for them and you shouldn’t discourage them because of your own interests. If you have an idea of how he can take care of the pups just share it and stop making people feel less because they get a dog that they want and can afford.

Lol the dog doesn't have teeth that can harm you yet. Nice pup. If you have some extra cash around you can get a GSD. Doesn't have to be pedigree but a very decent one. Trust me you'll appreciate the barking because people won't even near your home talkless of trying to break in.. I have two GSDs and ever since I got them I've not had any issue with thieves. We got robbed twice before we got them. A female first and a male about a year later.. Female rarely barks. But once she sights a stranger she'll start.. Male barks a lot even at the slightest knock on the gate. You'll also be able to decipher with time when there's real danger the two dogs will start barking at the same time.. Most of the time when the male makes just a bark or two we just ignore till it becomes frequent or the female joins because she's more mature.. Enjoy your new pup

Hello Fam, happy Sunday! It’s been a while. I have been busy with exams and few projects over the time so I don’t have much time to upload Gemma here.
I had to leave Gemma at home with my brother and travel for some weeks and he really took care of Gemma more than I will even take care of her lol.
Gemma is doing well and being the usual obedient girl that she’s always been, when I get back I noticed Gemma has really grown big and fat that I can’t even believe my eye lol she look like kitchen stool now(apoti) also she’s become more playful and active as well, she charge every visitor that comes home now
Over the time that I was away Gemma had a little illness though it’s not a serious one it’s Myiasis(it’s the infestation of fly maggots or grubs on another living thing) it got I and my brother scared that I had to come home the second day he noticed the stuff on her, all thanks to mr Knyte I called him immediately we notice the maggots on her and he made me understand it’s nothing to worry so much about and he advised me to take her to the vet, I took her to the vet for proper consultation and she was well taken care of. Since then Gemma have been living her happy and playful life lol.
Gemma will clock 5months in few days, I will share her recent pic for you guys to see

Well done Johnny, I always experience the same thing when I just brought Gemma in too but the moment I switch the light off she understands that’s time to sleep so she’ll look for her hiding too. You can just try putting lights off when ready to sleep that should help.
