Please ask about adding baby to a ticket before buying tickets on ANY PROMO.

You can get your tax refunds from Malls( I think northpark does it, not sure at this moment you can google it ). Or you get it on your way out at the airport. But you need to keep your receipts, show your passport and ticket to show you're buying the items for use outside the country.

If you choose to do it at the airport it may be a little stressful but you can pack your refund items into one box.(yes they inspect the items before approving refunds to be sure you bought them)

Also, I was given one DHI something form to sign that it's part of the community package for pregnant mothers, said it covers the meal, baby checks while at the hospital and prolly, some feet test for baby...don't understand sha, but me I never sign am O, (as I no wan stories that touch the visa). Also they booked me for 1st of Feb, do you think I can get an earlier date?? How do I go about it??

For shopping, if you have cash or an American bank account with dollars in it, it may be better to go to stores. Don't pick random days to go , there are specific days when they do sales and promotions and offer discounts, if you can find out those days then you'll get great prices. Register online with babies r us, buy buy baby and burlington coat factory. Burlington has the best prices in my opinion but sometimes the packaging nawa. They'll send coupons and discounts that you can use.

If you're using your naira cards then just shop online, it's less stress and more affordable because you can choose to be debited in naira on some sites. You can watch out for easter sales, end of winter sales, mothers day sales, fathers day sales and even valentines day sales. They always have one excuse or the other for sales.

And the beauty of dallas is that you can get your tax refunds before you leave.

Personally I won't advice you to go that long without seeing a doctor towards the end of your pregnancy. Your doctor visits are important but even more so at that time. Most doctors change frequency to weekly visits at that time, that should tell you the importance. They need to monitor your cervix, and examine you to be sure everything is going as planned.

I believe one of your primary reasons for undertaking this journey is to get access to better health care, don't miss out on it. Just decide which one is more favourable to you and go there, after having your baby you can move to wherever.

For POE it just depends on what you said in your visa application, if you said you were going to Florida then you may be asked if you show up at an unrelated POE, but as long as you can explain your travel plans it shouldn't be too much of a problem.

Reason being, I have been chatted with ANTONELLA from Tenet corporation and am in love with d rates am getting, the beach accommodation package nd everything all sorted with d hospital. Also at POE would it be an issue if I first go to texas nd then when baby is due proceed to Palm beach florida! Would I have issues with d officers?!

Florida is very enticing sha but that'll be tricky because you need to be seeing your doctor regularly. Or do you plan to use two doctors?

Well still new to my ears though. Olokings and some mamas gave birth in dallas as recent as last quarter of 2015 and no such policies from them. Also apple 19 I guess is there presently.

I think they had to make that decision in Dallas cos one of the Ebola cases was treated there in Dallas.

But Naija has been declared Ebola free, even West Africa sef (apart from one new case sha) so I don't get the continuous warning. I would definitely be there before 36 weeks but no one can accurately determine when baby would arrive. And my husband can't be there 30 days before I give birth. I don't want to be alone while in Labour just in case of any issues that's why I need to find someone who has experienced this to determine how strict it is.

The End. Thanks everyone.....[/quote]Sorry for all the wahala but I don't think it's advisable to use one dr's correspondence to gain entry and then end up using a different doctor , it may give you issues at the Poe but will surely give you issues for a renewal .

In this economic situation, it's not advisable to try something new oh, better to try the tested and trusted ones because you don't want to get caught up with bills and start owing the US. So if you can't find anyone to guarantee a doctor and hospital, it may be wiser to stick to your initial plan as earlier stated. Budget it well and see whether removing the cost of accomodation, feeding and transportation would make it cheaper to be in NC. Also make up your mind that you're prepared to stay with people because it's not easy for such a long stay.
If you decide to go ahead and get adequate correspondence, you are good to go!

I renewed my visa last week via Dropbox. I had read about people being called for interviews even after applying via dropbox and I didn't want to attend a second interview. For my initial visa I applied with my husband for tourism (I was pregnant at the time of application) but later learnt that people were mailing the consulate to declare change of intent, so I did that and got a generic response. I used the visa in 2014 to give birth and again in 2015 for vacation.

For the renewal we agreed that I should apply for a medical visa instead of stressing over anything while he applied for business/tourism. Same B1/B2 just different reasons and different intended length of visit. 3 months for me , 2 weeks for him. So I was certain that I would be called for interview, anyway I wasn't, my visa was renewed after 4 days.

Question now is has anyone had any experience with this quarantining thing? Or is it just peculiar to dallas. They keep telling me that to give birth in the hospital (which I used last time oh) I have to have been in the state or the US for 30 days prior to delivery and that anyone who intends to join me in L and D must also meet that requirement. Does anyone know about this and is it strictly applied?
