Enizo:Hi dear, Sorry about the 2 months. It's a little tricky especially if it's your first baby because they sometimes take their royal time. However on this issue of extension on a visitors visa, there is a rule that you should not file for an extension within 3 months of arrival otherwise USCIS may assume that the extension was preplanned. Not sure how this applies when you were given a duration less than 6 months. You may need to do some research. Alternatively since your wife is 33 weeks you could look at other options to avoid having to stay beyond the two months. Someone mentioned Induction at 38 weeks (hopefully your doctor agrees) but be prepared to review your budget because sometimes induction increases chances of an emergency c.section. Wish you all the best. Please try to research more into the extension thing (effect of overstaying, requirements and rules for extensions and related issues ((I also read that if an extension is denied you'll be asked to leave immediately. It may be worth avoiding the extension route). |
tpiah2:No oh, she dey wait Dimka..hian ![]() |
favoredgal:I was actually suggesting that they find other mums with toddlers and babysit for each other, not for a fee. I.e you take care of my child while I go to my doctors appointments and maybe shopping or even do some cooking and I do same for you. In the event of labour hopefully same will apply. That's my plan with my friend and the idea is to cut costs of daycare and babysitters. The idea of charging another mother in the same shoes is not so fair because we know were the shoe dey pinch, we are all from naija. We can all see dollar rate rising, every mum in this season has to be penny and pound wise. Find a friend hopefully on this forum or ask around. If you can find a RELIABLE flatmate, better for you both sef. Let's try to be our sisters keepers biko. I know it's difficult but these are trying timessage for us all. We need all the help and information we can get right now. If e hard you, do it for God. |
jumman:Thanks dear, I appreciate |
neks31:You're right dear but somehow I understand her, our attachment to our kids no be here. Would it perhaps help if she can find another mum on this forum or elsewhere who's also travelling with a toddler? That way they can both alternate babysitting, tasking as it may be. Just that when shes in labour/ in hospital/ and when the new baby arrives dealing with feeding, sleeplessness, getting documentation and even hospital appointments won't be easy. Car seat sef! Chai. Emeriem God is your strength. You'll need to be as friendly as it gets so you can get people who'll do you little favours oh. |
neks31:Kai |
HD16:Okay thanks a lot. Much appreciated. |
HD16:Thanks dear, please when did you do this transaction? And does that mean you don't need a Stanbic account? |
firsttymum:Thanks a lot hun, much appreciated. but dunno if they'll still approve after this new CBN policy against it. Fingers crossed. |
Onlineise:This article hit me hard! God help us |
dtone:Thanks dear, much appreciated |
Please has anyone had a repeat c.s and are you at liberty to pick the dates? Just wondering if the doctor's are willing to wait till about 39 weeks (just to have an idea on what dates to book a ticket for one's hubby). Secondly please those who have used the form A in this trying times |
mymy2015:Happy to see you sorted it out. Thank God. |
feddy27:Okay dear, I truly hope you're right for her sake. Maybe it's different with different anesthesiologists but the group I used (Pinnacle) have two rules. 1. Pay ahead for self pay discount and 2) the prepayment must be with respect to type of delivery, so if you even prepay for natural delivery and end up having ano emergency c.s they'll hit you up with additional fees. Once you contact them before delivery they tell you, and even your hospital may prefer warn you. But hey, I truly hope I'm wrong. |
mymy2015:Hmmmm, the epidural rule is if you must take it, you pay ahead oh. Their self pay is early option. Pray and call and plead for self pay discount, slim chance but worth trying. |
nefertitiram:Lol, no worry your health minister say e no fit touch naija babies |

phemmy26:As in return the next day? |
Sometimes when God closes a door he opens a bigger one for you. You just don't know it yet. If you were denied a visa or have issues with the visa you were granted, go out of your way to do research. Below is a list of countries that grant unconditional citizenship at birth. You might just start a new trend, and it just might be cheaper, compare and make decisions and see whether USA is still the best option. All the countries below are developed countries, so their passports carry weight. Maybe not a heavy as US and Canada but they all give the same benefits to their citizens that you may or may not have here. More importantly they all have great healthcare. I'm just trying to help us think outside the box instead of insisting on USA and getting a ban which could affect applications to other countries sef. 1. Argentina 2. Belize 3. Bolivia 4. Brazil 5. Canada 6. Costa Rica 7. Dominica 8. Ecuador 9. El Salvador 10. Fiji 11. Grenada 12. Guatemala 13. Guyana 14. Honduras 15. Jamaica 16. Mexico 17. Nicaragua 18. Pakistan 19. Panama 20. Paraguay 21. Peru 22. St. Kitts and Nevis 23. St. Lucia 24. St. Vincent and the Grenadines 25. Trinidad and Tobago 26. Tuvalu 27. United States 28. Uruguay 29. Venezuela |
Aklow:There's no way to go about it besides merely using the visa for the purpose for which you applied for it. According to you the VO clearly said if you use the visa for childbirth you'll be banned for 5 years. He didn't say if you use it and don't pay. Don't abuse the system. Use the visa as you stated in your application. There are no shortcuts when you lie. The people who have used the notification of intent letter didn't lie in their interview. If you read part 1 of this thread you'll see that someone had her visa revoked when you sent a notification of intent letter. |
LadyGuinivere:Awww pele, stretch your legs well and watch movies. Safe second Leg and entry. |
LadyGuinivere:You don land madam? How was your trip? |
Abefeokin:You can get a refund but there's no guarantee as to the amount of time it'll take to process it. They rarely hand out cash. That said, did you use the doctor's letter at the embassy for your interview? |
friend:The hospitals always warn that the final billing may change in the event of complications. If you study USt billing sites you'll observe that complications always attract extra charges. I suffered this to the tune of $1500. May God save us from complications in childbirth. The question is were you aware of any complications arising from your L& D ? Pele |
Onlineise:I felt really sad to see that your dw was denied renewal a second time. I wonder why this happened but to be sure I wanted to ask whether it was under section 214 that she was denied. I could have just read and moved on but I feel I would be doing you a favour to remind you of all the issues you must consider in making this decision. I'm raising the issues I'd have considered myself if I were in your shoes. 1. Is there a valid reason you cannot now remember as to why she is being denied entry? In this case you said the tune of the initial interviewer changed upon hearing that your wife was pregnant. Could it be that records about your financial history prompted the CO to conclude that you would not be able to afford delivery services in the US? Did you indicate any financial change of status in the new application? 2. A personal question. I understand that this is your first child but do you intend to have any other kids, and if so would you want to do that in the US? Could going ahead to use this visa make it difficult to get future renewals? As opposed to going somewhere else (which helps to establish trust and prove that your intentions were honest?) 3. What happens if you're turned back at the POE, are you prepared to bear any losses you may make? 4. Are you truly prepared for any financial situation that may come up during this period? ( knowing that if a situation arises where you cannot afford some services it would definitely be a huge issue in the future.) 5. In the event that your wife is stamped in only for the duration of the Visa validity, would you return back to Naija for the birth or try to apply for an extension while there( which may mean future trouble. 6.what do you think a border officer who is privy to the records from your last two interviews would think when you're at the POE? Is there a chance that he'll also realise you're trying to enter for the same purpose? ( cos if you say she was denied primarily for the reason of the pregnancy, when you mention it at the border what reaction can he/she have?) 7. What is the implication of being denied entry after being denied renewal twice? I really pray that your desires to have this child in the US come to pass but I also want you to be sure that you're making the best decision that still leaves you eligible for future renewals. All my questions above are what I'd have asked myself if I were in the same shoes. Eventually I'd have gone ahead to have the baby elsewhere, not in Nigeria (because I know it'll strengthen my case when I apply with a future pregnancy). Haven't said everything on my mind cos it's too long, but you get my drift. I really truly wish you the very best. |
damidamsel:I think you should try to get information from the different anesthiologists that work with the hospital. Except you're saying the hospital only works with one. They usually give an early payment option (ie if you pay before labour you get a lower rate, but if you don't pay and wait for the bill, na stories that touch situation.lol) |
twingirls:Hugs, hugs... I can't claim to understand what you've gone through but God has. May this be a turning point for greater testimonies. God will replace all that you have lost sevenfold. I Pray that you will sing a new and joyful song this year. Bless God, praise him in the midst of the storm, for he who started the good work in you will be faithful to complete it. |
firsttymum:May God grant them the strength to bear the loss . Truly a sad story. |
Onlineise:While it seems like a great way out right now, especially if the visa in question was not cancelled, if It were me, I'd be thinking about the future. She just received a visa denial and shortly after she turns up at a POE to use the existing visa which is also due to expire soon, what would you think If you were the admitting officer? A visa can admit you at any time until it expires but what happens if she is turned back at the POE, won't that further worsen a simple case? I believe it would be better to prepare for the upcoming interview and trust God than to attempt to use the present visa. My opinion sha, decision is yours to make. |
LadyGuinivere:Pele. Demand is higher than supply for fx right now. Banks are receiving $40,000 dollars now as opposed to $100,000 available for PTA. All branches are vying for their customers on that allocation. Trust naija, it's no longer by waiting list, it's God's grace and man know man now oh. Sterling bank does Money gram sha and i heard it's $1k per transaction . You can try that. |
omodadi:I hear you sis |
damidamsel:Hey dear, in my sincere opinion it isn't neccessary to send a change of intent letter to the embassy in your particular case. You applied for a tourist visa and used it for that purpose. They judged you eligible for multiple entries. As long as you have used the visa for its intended purpose I don't see a problem. The change of intent is for people who applied for a purpose but were unable to use it as they had initially intended. In such a case it's better to err on the part of caution and notify the embassy. In your case I don't think it's neccessary. Saying you need to notify the embassy that you're using the visa for medical purposes is like saying if I apply for a visa to visit for the first time, and decide to use it on business a second time I need to notify the embassy ![]() This is my opinion sha. I however believe that you must declare your intention to give birth at the POE. Your interview wouldn't neccessarily matter again because you have used the visa as you intended upon application . HOWEVER , if you feel that going to have your baby may affect your immigrant application, then it may be wise to pre- notify the embassy. |

U don't need trump and his wall again if this is the case...
