melodyogonna: Lol, you don't use Vim at all if you think Vs Code is better than in Vim in those things you mentioned. How do you highlight with the keyboard in Vs Code? Shift+direction keys to the position you want, using the mouse is even far more efficient than this unless you're talking about highlighting everything with Ctrl+a ofcourse. Everyone has what's good for them. I prefer those ctrl whatever than typing commands. One man's meat..... Besides it's clear that you don't even know VS code shortcuts. You're mentioning normal keyboard shortcuts. That's not what I'm talking about |

valzey: Not enough reasons bro. I can't trade vscode for any other general editor, especially not vim. Giving up intellisense, debug tools, version control, extensions....etc just to feel that I'm a geek. Definitely not. Moreover vscode has terminal too. Your reasons ain't convincing enough especially for those with large projects, collaboration...etc.
I began my programming career with gedit which was good for small programs or making changes to a project but I can't use it to begin a project. I put vim in same category.
Soon your excitement will die and you'll go back to your previous editor. My thoughts exactly. The features of VSCode are just too awesome to give up for some old terminal based editor called Vim. I only use a Vim emulator (Vs code extension) when I'm editing commit messages via git. |

We need to take all our careers to a full business dimension then we can develop, create, make huge cash and improve on our living standards, that's what most western countries do, but Africa, zero. Okay, continue wallowing in self delusion. Isn't it obvious the reality on ground? Wake up bro, if your father ain't Dangote-like, nor you having connection, you may likely be caught off-guard. You and cows will be chilling on the beach front too.
Be watchful for the younger residents/thugs they will want to milk you off any money you have, they'll also change agreements too just because is their area. (They'll leave you at "make we see as you wan commot for the beach house go the boat side na)
No security whatsoever too, so go with your security.
No network as well.
Your activities will get meddled with the residents staying and watching you guys.
There are a lot of beggers.
If you wanna go, make sure you guys are much else it may get very boring.
If you're into ship viewing, you will love this place, a lot of ships.
I can't imagine sleeping over there though So it's not even as exclusive. Seems like an overrated nonsense. What's the point of paying over one million naira only to get harassed by locals and lack of network (even Wi-Fi?). I'd rather chill in elegushi |
Travel › Re: Lagos City: Oregun, Alausa And Agidingbi In Pictures (video) by TheManOfTheYear: 5:49pm On Jul 21, 2020 |
PHAYOL81: The metropolis extended to Ikeja, Ikorodu, Agege, et all but not the City. The metropolis are the areas around the city not actually the areas contained in the city. So there's nothing like London City metropolis but London City on a part and altogether with all the areas surrounding it to make up London Metropolis; also called London Metro. The same thing New York (New York City, Brooklyn ect are cities combined with the other areas to make up the greater New York), same way Greater Manchester consist of Manchester as the city and other areas surrounding it. This is the same mistake most make when thinking the entire New York is the city when there are more than one cities in it. Lagos metro doesn't mean the city but the city and other areas around it. And like in New York example, like in Guatran in SA, a state can have more than one city in his metropolis. OK boss, I totally understand you and you're right. Thanks for the insight |

PHAYOL81: It's turned out the residents and the indigenes of Lagos state themselves don't know what parts of the state are included in the 'CITY OF LAGOS'. Now how do you convinced a stranger when majority of the state believe the entire state represent the city. For the record, Ikeja was never a part of Lagos City. Infact, Ikeja is a city itself with Maryland, Ojodu, and Magodo considered as part of the city. Lagos city consist of the Lagos Island, Ikoyi, Victoria Island, Lagos Mainland, Banana Island, and Yaba. So the picture the Op showed us has only captured Ikeja and not the City of Lagos. Note that Lekki peninsula, Epe, Ajah, Ibeju Lekki are also not included because they ain't part of it. Nice pix though. In as much as you are right, presently you are wrong. What you said only holds true in the early times when the colonial masters created it. However, Lagos City has grown beyond it's original geography, the metropolis has extended to ikeja, lekki and beyond. They are now considered as part of lagos City. |

I have come to realize men know the truth. They just hate to hear it from women.
Una go dey alright ehn. Cuties I guess it's more of a gender war thing. To me, marriage should also be a form of investment, you shouldn't be a millionaire and marry an unemployed person, doesn't make sense, you'd end up spending and footing everything in the name of marriage. This 21st century, things are a bit different now. People even get married as a form of investment. Let's stay woke. |
Family › Re: How Guys Use Marriage To Plunge Themselves Into Perpetual Poverty. by TheManOfTheYear: 12:12pm On Jul 21, 2020 |
Lordswazz: Poor people often make that mistake. It's almost like they find solace in the thought that even in their misery, they have something they "own" or have "achieved", which is that poverty-battered woman and child(ren) that they've deliberately ushered into their world of lack and colossal suffering.
Even if you want to believe a stupid gamble that's stacked against you 10-to-1 that marriage will automatically open doors for your financial breakthrough, why not put off giving birth until those "hoped-for" breakthroughs begin rolling in? I've never seen a poor couple who stayed without having kids 3 years post-marriage, except the lady hasn't just been able to take in naturally. People of means sometimes decide to stay 3-5 years after marriage just to enjoy the companionship of each other before deciding to give birth; but for the poor, it's like a curse (and na them born pass sef). I won't even be surprised if they don't know what family planning is, and that it's cheap, and even free in some healthcare centers. My guy you're so on point like decimal. Kudos |
