Davegabriel: No good school in the US will require you to pay part of your tuition before sending your i20 form. That's robbery... Looks like a one man building school that may have fallen out of accreditation even though they still provide SEVIS ID.. 5 Likes |

Rdfactor: We are still saying the same thing... You mentioned a cheap state with stipend of 35k hence my initial debate. And the 45k you mentioned in schools in the Bay area or Boston, are only for competitive STEM programs like Physics or Computer Science. Others program in this expensive region particularly in humanities, don't even earn up to 30k as stipend. 1 Like |

Rdfactor: At the bolded, it is rare or impossible to see a grad student living in a cheap state and earning such amount per year only through stipend. Note I said only. Even many in the bay region don't earn that save for a few in Physics or in competitive STEM. 3 Likes |

chibertha: Calm down.... Do well not to fall into shams that most men put beautiful young ladies in the name of GC.... Especially our fellow black men... If you get a PhD funded offer, do not hesitate... That's the sure route to EB2 NIW for those who are wise... You seem to agree totally with everything I say lols.. chibertha: You should know that PhD admission with full funding is very competitive regardless of the school or department. It is even higher in competitive schools. Did you get research experience and does it align with the current research in the program of your choice? Another thing is connection.... I tell you solemnly. Especially if someone of high caliber well known to a prof. with grant recommends you strongly. It seals your entry definitely. |

Sisib15: The end goal of doing an advanced degree, is to get returns.. Some courses in the US are just useless, money making mills to cough out money from international students... Even the natives, shy away from such courses because they add no monetary value later on. FYI, STEM courses are the best.. If you're not in STEM, then try to do a MS. program that can be linked to STEM somehow. This increases your chances of funding as well as OPT extension after graduation, Green card (EB1-A &EB2-NIW) filing and many more. Peace. 7 Likes 1 Share |

tensazangetsu20: The best bet is to be a PhD candidate in STEM, do good research work and show that you are a person of extraordinary ability which is not very difficult and viola, you apply for EB1A via express.... That's the surest way to approval now. Or the person do a postdoc after PhD and then get a faculty role in a less competitive college or University.... There is no cap for H1B for higher institutions at all... 3 Likes |

dododawa1: Says someone who knows nothing about living in a foreign land and perhaps hasn't travelled outside the borders of his father's land. The West, is a place where even their citizens struggle vehemently. The only way to succeed in the West, is to come here under a permanent residency route or study here, obtain a Masters or PhD in a desired field preferably in STEM, get a good job and climb the ladder. Any other route, has been exploited by Africans and thus not workable anymore. People, especially Africans are suffering here. 2 Likes |

Kingcalls: Chioma is senseless. She didn't act like a proper Igbo lady. How will she leave her beloved child in the care of a domestic staff? Someone of that status should know that her child can be a target. The deceased boy is the major link between her and Davido. If this is true, then watch how their relationship even marriage proposal will take a spiral spin. It's a pity. 2 Likes 1 Share |

What an audacity, knowing that you were in a bullet shield car? People who use bullet shield, do that because they perceive that they are at risk or have unknown enemies that the public don't know about. I pity the lost souls that follow this man. |
