What's on my mind? I saw from somewhere, a reliable source, that Seun would ONLY sell NL if offered =N=25 Billion. . . . So I'm thinking if he'd sell if I offer him =N=20 Billion. . . . that, right there, is what I'm thinking. |
Wow! I thought this thread had been closed. Kunbee, I was told but I didn't believe it; so you're still hanging out with N2D I'm disappointed in you ![]() |
omotf:Only if you can open your brain to know what that word means. ![]() |
Sequel to my earlier post. . . I improvised. I was still determined to make Yetunde mine all the way. After a church service one day, I sent Peace to tell her I'll be writing her letters but she should always, after each service, check any desk where I have sat to get it, reply on the back of the letter, and return to that spot for me to pick up later. This worked. We conversed by that means. There was a camp that we usually went to every December (close to Christmas) and Easter periods, but this time, it was the former. It usually ended after 5 days. We would sit close to each other at the camp, smile and make hand signs to pass across our messages. We had a spot we made where no eyes would reach (that was the farthest our intelligence got us). Peace, remember the pastor's son? He was our watcher and usually stood a few miles away from us just to alert us if anyone was coming. This time I was already 9. We practically stayed out there for hours. This continued until we were traced and caught by the same teacher who got her hands on my letter the first time. She caught us red-handed, pants-down. We were made to see the pastor and I was placed under a heavy punishment (as it seemed then). Later on we lost contact, met each other again after two years and this time, the feelings were slowly waning but I still liked her a lot. We didn't speak until we both were about leaving then she called me and asked, "Do you mean to tell me you don't remember me?" and my response was, "Remember you? I don't think I do. Have we met before?" I lost the confidence I had when I was younger at that moment. She told me that day she wanted to be my girlfriend and out of fear for whatever reasons I can't fathom, I told her, in rather a trembling voice, "Em em em em, can you let's talk about this tomorrow?" I didn't even know where she lived then let alone seeing her the next day ![]() |
I see everyone's talking about when they did their first toasting . . . I have a few I can tell but let me start with this one. I remember clearly I was just 7 then, and in elementary school. I knew and liked this girl as much as my life, but unlike everyone else, it was in my church. At our church, there's a different section for children (as long as you're not in high school yet), I don't know how that works with other churches. Her name was Yetunde. I don't know what it is but till today, I have a special fascination towards that name. She was black, totally white and very sexy eyes and nice lips. She had long hair. I watched her for a couple of months. I had a friend, his name was Peace and was our pastor's son. He was my messenger then, for many reasons but not limited to giving him a few pocket change every Sunday. I wrote a letter absolutely from how I felt about her (although I can't remember vividly what I wrote). After reading it and feeling the hotness of the words, and damn!!! at 7!!!! I handed the letter to Peace, so he could give it to Yetunde. I don't know how he carelessly handled it but one of our instructors caught him while he was about handling it to her. The letter was opened and alas, a love better and a mint note. I was so ashamed; was reported to my parents and I was placed under a well scrutinized watch. I don't want to make this boring. . . . check the next post for what happened next. |
Years later at Uni, I came across Bukky again. We were more matured now. I saw her one day on campus and ignored her. As time went on, she was the one making attempts to get to me. By this time, my feelings for her were not deep again. Besides, the beauty was fading. Guess a lot of water had passed under the bridge Sad Sad There was a day we boarded the same inter-state bus together. She sat infront of me and I tried to ignore her. She looked at me and called my name. we chatted that day. Guess she knew the fire had burned out but we became friends. She is happily married now. The other girl is a lady whose beauty is out of this world. This girl is really beautiful. I have not seen a more beautiful lady in my life. Even other girls were admiring her. She had class and was sophisticated. Fola was her name. Men, the guys were after her Smiley Smiley The chasing and wooing was too much. We were in Journalism school then. We never really had a relationship but she made her moves towards me. I was on top of the world when she said the deep words. She always watched out for me. I used to wonder what she saw in me when other guys chasing her had money and cars. There was a time I refused to speak to her because I felt she was a mermaid Shocked Shocked I felt she was sent to bring me to the Kingdom of the Queen of the Coast. How could a lady be so beautiful? Don't laugh o. This is a serious matter. Rememeber there was this book by Emmanuel Eni then '' Delivered From The Power of Darkness '' That was whwere all those mermaid and Queen of The Coast ideas came from. I've grown out of that now. Fola weas a lovely girl. Very delectable. We parted ways after we finished the Course. I heard she is in France now and is modelling. Those days were sweet. We were innocent then. Cheers.
Please don't mention that book again My dad had it, I stole it from his room to read. I was in elementary school then almost getting into high school. The more I read the book, the more scared I was, but I kept reading. When I had finished the book, I couldn't sleep peacefully for months. . . . No jokes! ![]() |
And suddenly this courtroom has become a gathering where people catch up. Now, will you all please step out peace? We want no noise in this court. Good morning, Your Honor. Good morning, Hon Tubabie I lost you earlier when we were talking but I sure got your message last night Good morning, Clerk Plat |
Do you know what it takes intellectually to get into a Ivy league school? Ho many Nigerians can score a perfect SAT or score a 770 in GMAT? We think we are smart? Check the number of Indians and Chinese in these schools. Nigerians are not smarter than other Africans and we are nothing speacial. If we can have a lot of Asians in Ivy leagues why not Nigerians. And dont pull the " Asians are more" argument because I have seen how Nigerians flood to schools like Texas Southern University with low admission requirements. Nigerians probably outnumber Asians in TSU but Asians are more in Rice University or UTAustin that are in the same State and locality
That doesn't exactly convey what I'm trying to say but you're very right and I have the same opinion too.
I bet you had a similar argument about how a black man can never become president of US. Or how a black man could have won the NOBEL prize for literature
I never doubted a black man will become US president but I knew it was going to be a tough one, yet, lucky. Had McCain ran a good campaign and made the right choice of VP candidate, that election would have gone the Republicans' way. . . but that's not the issue. Luck or no luck, bad campaigning or not, Obama deserves where he is right now (I never doubted he'll make it there) |
dayokanu:That tells me something but speaking in Nigerian context, how many parents can afford to pay that much unless they are stealing our public funds? We're speaking of Nigerians here. . . are we entitled to the same opportunities as these people you mentioned? I'm not disputing where you're coming from; but ask yourself this: If you stand side by side with an American or some European and you both hold MBA from the same University, who will the considered first? That's what I call privilege -- only very few Nigerians have the very rarest opportunity to study in these schools. |
His username. . . . does he own a Bentley? |
He's a stubborn little boy so I'll save her. I hear he's going to be a mayor soon ![]() |
You see what happens when you leave a good nation in the control of a stupid, uneducated and sick president? Who's even sure Yaradua's certificates are validated enough for him to be a chemistry lecturer? ![]() |
davidif:The first part of your statement is right but the question remains that, how well and often do you have access to these funds? Who doesn't want to be a graduate from Harvard, but how vibrantly can you afford it? And after you done paid all your dues, will it really be worth all the money you paid if you can't have the means to start your own business? 80% new businesses fail because when the entrepreneurs go into the business, they lack basic knowledge of how to make these businesses work. I can tell you a lot of people don't know what environment what business survives in let alone knowing how to compete in such environments. A lot of people have the capital to run businesses smoothly but are devoid of proper expertise in such fields hence, the businesses collapse. Do you know at this age, a lot of people still think once you have the money to start a business the rest is easy? Which, of course, isn't true. Having the basic capital to start a business is one thing, positioning it in a corresponding and favorable environment is another; then it'll bring you down to exploring and expanding your horizontal ideas of making the business, not only survive in that vicinity, but also to maximize your chances of being the best (I never liked being second best). It'll surprise you that some other people start businesses just because they've seen it favor some important persons (their idols, their friends, their parents, etc.) -- there's nothing wrong in wanting to be someone else but before you get into the heat, you need to ask yourself a few questions and this is what they fail to do. They lack goals. They don't have a particular focus or maybe they do but want to jump into it blindly. Just like you said, having a MBA will definitely give one the basic and in-depth understanding of new businesses. If I can't have access to large funds, instead of spending it getting MBA, I'd rather start a business and employ MBA holders by and large; and who even says I can't get MBA when I've made enough maximal gains from my business courtesy of my MBA employees?! |
eyonigger:Sorry! I don't think it's got to do with her age. I suspect you've let her got used to you taking the blame and she feels anytime you don't yield to her childish tantrums, you're far away in touch with her emotions and she in turn, vituperates. |
Can someone kindly tell me what's going on here? |

Ebonyeyes:Oh I meant if those are the sect of guys you're watching. Besides, a lady with job, a house, a fat bank account, assets and cars doesn't connote a confident lady. There are lots of things that make up a confident lady and the obvious one is 'confidence' and the vehement determination to break through any barrier. |

Ebonyeyes:And what if the guy doesn't have money to impress women? Ebonyeyes:Maybe those are the kind of men you're looking out for. How about you look at the number of men who boast in confident women? Ebonyeyes:Do you know what it means sometimes when some people use the terminology "career woman" for some women? Well, I'm not saying these women aren't ready to settle down, but where on earth do you live? And also, are these men from the caves or simply have chosen to live in the 12th century? |

Do you have the same fingers as mine? No! Do you have the same face as mine? No! Do you have the same problem as I do? No! Do we have the same goals? No! Reasons some girls lend and/or give money to their boyfriends differ. The questions you ask yourself are: 1. Why are you giving it? 2. Does he really need it? 3. Does he have other alternatives? 4. Are you giving it to buy his love, show you care or just out of freewill? You're entitled to know all these and that in no way doesn't correspond with others' reasons as to why they do the same. |
sexybabes:Yeah but for some reason I don't like to hear Jamie Foxx sing - he should just stick to acting ![]() |
There's absolutely nothing wrong with you being confident of yourself, who you're, what you're all about and your general personality. One advantageous fact about it all is that, it makes matured guys hover around you; but, insecure guys will never feel comfortable around a confident woman. |
