Hey Bro, Please can you recommend Finance Courses for a friend who finished with a 2'1 (3.17 out of 4.00) Bachelor's degree in Accounting from a University in Ghana. She graduated in 2018 and currently works in Financial Control at the HQ of a major bank in West Africa for the last year. She's not interested in doing accounting anymore so she'd rather focus on Finance. Thank you so much for all you do. Lekiboboe: |

You need to apply for your GCMS Notes as this is just a generic refusal reason. The notes will expand more on this, and you can tackle the issues raised in your reapplication. Deajang: 2 Likes |

It's not advised to mix them because there are few research results on whatever effects may occur when you combine them together since the vaccines work in their own different way. SweetJJ: 1 Like |

Sorry about this. The first dose of the vaccine does cause a strong reaction in the body. Please rest, take some painkillers and you'll be fine in a few days. Queenmama03: |

For your mother's corporate account which has more funds, get a Bank Reference letter stating that she is the sole signatory to the account. Corporate accounts are usually accessed by several signatories (MD, CFO, and the likes) so it is important you have that reference letter that states she is the sole signatory to the account and thus she can access the account at any time without any encumbrances. This was a mistake I made in my first application before doing the needful for the second one that was successful. HorlarJP: 1 Like |

If possible, do it the day before your flight. If you can, please go to Clina Lancet in V.I. I did mine there and got the test by evening. Pinky: 1 Like |

Took me 5 Mins to get my SIN at Service Canada in Brandon, MB. It may take a few hours in cities with a lot more people and immigrants but I haven't heard of it taking weeks though - usually, a few days if it's done online. Pinky: 1 Like |

I kept my earlier GAA Reservation I had made at the hotel a month prior because Toronto wasn't my final destination and I needed a place to stay for a while to get my bearings (I entered on Thursday and my flight to Winnipeg was the next week Thursday due to cheaper ticket prices) When I got to the hotel, I informed them about my vaccination exemption which they acknowledged and they requested I fill a form so that they can confirm from Public Health Canada and then issue a refund of the GAA Rate (about 930+ CAD). I was turned back at the Murtala Mohammed Airport. I'm a bit unsure about this risk. The International Office at my school recently sent a mail stating the 4 Weeks window upon advice from IRCC so I don't know if 5 weeks would be fine or not. It'll most likely be looked at on a case-by-case basis. Blavkmaann: 1 Like |

Landing Gist Hello All, It would be a disservice if I did not update the thread on my landing gist so here it is: Some Background Information On June 4th, 2021, my original travel date, I was prevented from boarding at the airport due to the Border Official, who the counter officials sent my documents via WhatsApp, declaring that June was too early a date for travel despite my Enrollment Letter showing September 2021 (this was before it being known that the new mandate was for students to arrive within Four (4) weeks of your start date). This was extremely disappointing as I had already made the GAA Hotel Booking along with the Covid Test I had done the previous day. To circumvent this, I enrolled for my Thesis which I had planned to do when I settle in after arrival in Canada (I had already completed a full year of coursework while in Nigeria). Thesis Registration took about three weeks to process (as most of the professors were in the field for research work) and by the time it was ready, Canada had announced the exemption from Quarantine for those who are fully vaccinated (which I was). I rescheduled my flight and hotel booking for July 7th and 8th and waited till the travel date. Trip I arrived at the airport quite early and was asked for my Enrollment Letter (now showing July 5th as the start date), Covid Test Result, ArriveCAN receipt, and my Vaccination Card showing my full vaccination status at the counter. It took an hour for the Border Official to respond to their WhatsApp message and give clearance for me to travel. My flight was an Ethiopian Airlines flight that departed Lagos at 1:40 PM. I was really impressed with the food served on the plane and the access to movies, music and TV shows available on the console in front of me. The book I intended to read was left unread as I switched between watching movies and listening to some newly discovered music. We landed in Addis Ababa at night (beautiful airport) and I was only asked for my Covid Test Result and hotel booking (if I had). We stayed about two hours or so there before changing aircraft and heading to Dublin for a one-hour refuelling stop. We were given two forms to fill on the plane - a declaration card and one containing contact information to be filled. We landed in Toronto by 7:30 AM on July 8th and we were separated by vaccination status at immigration (Fully Vaccinated, Half Vaccination and No Vaccination). I was directed to a computer system where I filled another declaration form and was given a printout. The next stop was the border officials who requested for the printout, my Passport, ArriveCAN Receipt and Covid Test results. Upon going through them, he declared me fully exempt from hotel quarantine, the 11 days quarantine and Day 8 testing and placed a green sticker stamp on my passport. The next queue I was directed to was the one for issuing our Study Permits. We stayed on that for over an hour as there were lots of people who had landed that same morning so lots of people to process. Finally, I got to the top of the line and was asked by the Border Official for my Passport, Admission Letter and Tuition Receipt, he asked if I had started classes online which I answered yes to, he asked me to log in to my school account to verify that I had completed classes and to corroborate my answer. When he was satisfied, he issued my study permit and informed me about the 20 hours limit for working and restated my full exemption from any quarantine. I did the arrival covid test and wasn't given the home test kit for Day 8 testing due to my exemption status. I stayed at the airport for a bit while waiting for my hotel's shuttle bus. On getting to the hotel, I informed them about my exemption status and I filled a form for refund purposes (I had booked the more expensive GAA Rate a month ago when I had originally intended to travel) while they confirm my status with Public Health Canada. I really enjoyed the food at the hotel and the room was really lovely. I had seen some terrible reviews of Crowne Plaza just before my trip but I had no issues while there for 3 days. I am currently at a friend's place while waiting for my flight to Winnipeg in Manitoba on Friday (my school is Brandon University). Canada so far has been lovely and quite interesting to observe (the sun doesn't set in Toronto until close to 10 PM and by 5 AM it's up again). I wish everyone awaiting their PPR the best of luck and the assurance that God will perfect what He has started. I pray God blesses the Gurus (Frank and Lekibobo just to name a few) and everyone who contributes their quota in providing help and information on this great thread. Have a great day all and may the rain of PPR continue. Amen! 86 Likes 5 Shares |

I believe he has seen several posts from others that attest to my original post which he refuted. Things change dramatically with the IRCC and its rules and sometimes, it is not widely known. The airline officials send the enrollment letter via WhatsApp to Embassy Officials who make the decisions now and send it via a message. The others who posted their very recent experiences were current students who were already enrolled and yet they were not allowed to board due to September being far off from the travel date. I did my post because this same issue happened to two people I know. They were enrolled for September and attempted to travel in June and they were refused by the officials of Ethiopian Airlines with the reason being that June was too early to enter Canada. They (the airline officials ) received this decision via WhatsApp from the Office in Nairobi who crosschecks the documents you show at the counter. fairlytreated: 1 Like |

For those who want to avoid the mandatory hotel stay and quarantine, Canada will be lifting these requirements for those who are fully vaccinated (two doses) by the approved vaccines in the country on July 5th, 2021. Also, while you may have an Enrollment Letter for Fall 2021, please be aware that you may very well be refused at the airport if you seek to travel more than a month before the start date on your Enrollment Letter. While it isn't mentioned on their website (as far as I've seen), your program should start within a month or a month of your intended travel date or it will be deemed that you are arriving too early (possibly to root out what they deem unnecessary travel). This is something being enforced in the background by their staff who verify your documents. 5 Likes |
