Raine80:Art inclined, yes? Finally, a redeemer to salvage the image of the happy-go-lucky, sapheads who've registered their ignorance on this thread. |
Fabulocity:Art is art regardless of which side of the moral divide you stand on. The true greats like Da Vinci and Michael Angelo sculpted/painted nude works. Erm, what's "true art" again? Get it now? |
ItzMePuffPuff:Give it up, cupcake, you've never been the sharpest tool in the box or yard. The photo shoot itself is to convey a message; heck, messages even. -A nude dark-skinned female to represent stripped, pillaged Africa; -Chains to represent limitations, leash, stagnation; -Bible to represent Christianity, missionaries/colonialists and, by extension, religion. The whole set-up depicts either or both of the scenarios explained in my prequel posts. Screw the euphemisms, Valerie, you're dumb. |
ItzMePuffPuff:What was I even thinking trying to make you see the point? It's like getting a stripper to appreciate the significance of carbon dating. mofeoluwadassah:Art comes in many forms. Focus on the message being passed, not the inferred morality. Funny how we hypocritical lots say nothing about a woman who exposes her mammary glands in public for her youngling to suckle but castigate another one who exposes hers for another reason. Ironic, don't you think? Another one to file away in your memory bank. |
Scream:Reading the Bible wouldn't set you, me or anyone free, man; applying the dictates of the Bible wisely and communing with the one who inspires the writings therein is what would set you free. Anyone can just read the Bible, it's a book after all. But, then again, this thread or section isn't the right place for indepth discussions about spirituality. Maybe our e-paths would meet in the appropriate section. |
ItzMePuffPuff:What would you know about history when you still view the world from the sheltered prism of mummy's windowpanes ? It's all about racial issues when an ebony female is the subject. Even if it is about racial issues, it's still correct. Those who colonized and raped Mama Africa did so with swords and guns while brandishing the Bible on the other hand. |
mofeoluwadassah:No, she's not. I might be a Christian but one with a discerning mind who appreciates art for what it is. The photographer/visual artist is portraying religion as a chain, a leash which limits humanity in a way albeit an obscene display to jar our senses and, yes, to be controversial. Whether I agree with the message being passed across is a different issue entirely but this is art and it's powerful. |
HarmonyDee:Heard these : Timaro (Toyoima'ado), Tiene, Keresifon ? I've always loved those three names. You're also Ibibio? Nice. |
hertz9te:You grew up watching your dad verbally abuse your mum, right? Pretend you're saner than he was/is. |
ndoeyopbennet:Folks from Ukanafun L.G.A are chiefly Annangs; So, what part of Ukanafun has Ibibio as its first language? Nam yak ami n'kene ndiongho. |
richommie:The lie you tell yourself to make you sleep at night. |
Olu20090:Predictable hogwash. His assertions and summations mirror those of majority of folks from the Akwa-Cross region. While we fully support the right to secession by peaceful means, we reject attempts to be hoodwinked into being lumped together only to be exploited further. WE AREN'T BIAFRANS. Now try terming me a Yoruba or Hausa bigot and watch as I place a gazzillion curses on you in my native Ibibio Language. |
