We told them....particularly the local dunces we could find on NL that decent people don't talk the way they talk and expect sensible voters to listen to them but the clowns refused and insulted us. Campaigns were meant to be based on issues. E.g, how does a decent person vote for the candidate of the campaign manager below?

Voter: what will your candidate do about corruption?

Campaign manager: do you know our opponent wears diapers like my mother?

Only a mentally impaired person will be convinced to vote for a candidate promoted in that manner and to think a serving gov was the manager described above

Now that they're ready to start talking sensibly, we can expect them to practice opposition politics like adults....not like mentally challenged people.

Every sensible analyst knew the Saudi solution of refusing to drop production was the best. Eventually the cost of producing shale oil was going to be too high to sustain amidst sliding oil prices.

This is an example of a country though very much allied with the west particularly America, refused to be teleguided by them. They were able to do this because they had leaders who wanted the best for their country and had saved up enough for the rainy day.

Now, can these tribal warlords and religious bigots who imagine the "Northerners" and "South Westerners" conspired to ruin the party see that corruption and "stealing" has no ethnic and religious tinge to it?? Our laws are crazy actually but an average Nigerian's mentality needs changing.

We crack jokes about a politician who steals a billion from the public treasury but express 'righteous indignation' about a thief who takes our 25k at a b/stop. This is because we don't see the billion as ours because it 'belongs' to the govt forgetting that we are the govt line sunny okosun sang some years back.

The politicians and military rulers have so bastardized us that we really careless about Nigeria. Who can blame us anyway?

However its not good enough. Until we express more interest in how our country is run, we will not get the country we desire.
