I am only going to address the bolded based on my earlier statement. The Christian who won the election isn't an Igbo/Yoruba man. He's a Southern Kaduna Christian and has every right as a Nigerian and as a Kaduna man to become a VC in a university in Kaduna state.

Also, I believe these past UNN VCs ain't Igbos..

Professor Umaru Shehu: 1978 - 1979
Professor Umaru Gomwalk: May 1994 - 1999
OK then. I wasn't there with you so I cant pretend to know what transpired there.

Oh...so some hausa/fulani muslim profs have led the foremost university in the SE?? shocked shocked i thought some here make it look like the hausa/fulani muslim has nothing good to offer the SE? Its nice to see that not all abokis are unfit for Igboland and the institutions there in.

Thanks...I've learnt something new today

I know you're a Muslim and I know you'll find it wrong but I won't modify it. We are not discussing Islam here and I careless about the religion of GMB. He could as well have been a satanist for all the cares in the world.

I voted for a honest, modest man not bogged down by materialism and I got me a honest and upright president elect.

The Jews have theirs and the Christians have theirs too. Pls let's leave it at that.

Exactly Bro, it baffles me why a learned person will even vote for GEJ. GEJ was obviously operating from the wrong side of the coin, neglecting the masses and further enriching the cabals. If PDP had allowed our vote to count in the SS it would have reflected that indeed he failed even though he's our own.
I'm from Niger Delta and I support any honest, courageous and incorruptible leader regardless of his/her birth region, GEJ was the exact opposite of those attributes and never deserved to continue with our mandate.
Of course you're very correct. If not for the thugs unleashed on the populace by PDP in rivers state, the votes would have reflected that the folks there also wanted change. GMB wouldn't have won of course but he would have pulled substantial votes.

Now if they are so free minded, why was there post election violence? Mind you, Namadi Sambo is their son and even if GEJ got votes from them in 2011, there isn't a big deal there. They might reasoned it as a win-win for them if either CPC or PDP win.

Now mark my words, with the current trend, there will never be a successful party at the national level without the Hausa/Fulani man either as a President or as a Vice President. In whichever way, their presence must be felt. They voted for OBJ because to them they were paying him back for handing over to their son Shehu Shagari. Mind you also, Atiku was the vice and an Hausa/Fulani. From then on till date, has there been a President/Vice without a Hausa/Fulani candidate? Watch and see this trend continue till you grow old.

Also, let me give you instances of them having the "born to rule" mentality. Election was conducted in my school for the post of VC and a Christian won. What happened afterwards? Was he sworn in as the VC? No. This was because of the massive protest both in and outside the school. Their lecturers, the supposed learned ones refused that it would happen. The illiterates/almajiris outside the school premises protested, threatening thunder and brim stone. Elections conducted at school level left the school filled with "born to rul"e both at departmental and faculty level. A well respected prof, a Yoruba man, in my department then, was campaigned and voted against (for the post of Deputy Dean) by same lecturers within the department, that pretended to respect him. Who did they campaign and vote for? A Muslim lecturer from another department. The prof eventually left the school and is now in Unilag. Most Christian lecturers, doctors/profs in my department then have left the school for schools in the South. Mind you, this is a school with huge number of Christians.

You're either a Muslim or you are deliberately lying to yourself about your experience in the north. Although even if you're a Yoruba Muslim, you must agree with me that during crises in the north, if you can't speak their language, you're a gonner..
Have you checked the Nigerian map b4? Do you see the space occupied by the Hausa/Fulani Muslim north? Any man that thinks he can win a presidential election in Nigeria without an Hausa/Fulani Muslim on the ticket is a comedian. Democracy is a game of numbers......the earlier you internalise this, the better for u.

Do you in all honesty believe a Hausa/Fulani Muslim can be elected a VC in FUTO in today's Nigeria? We are talking of the presidency here and history will always record it that gej got 8million votes from the north in 2011 & 3.4million votes there in 2015. I'll leave you to tell me how many votes GMB got in the SE in 2011 & 2015.

You're free to believe I'm a Hausa Muslim or a Yoruba Muslim.....its your call. To add to your consternation again, let me tell you that pretty babe I met and married in the north is an Igbo girl. wink

Islam has a violent streak but what is the solution? Shut the hausa/Fulani Muslim out of power? How do you do that in a democracy with universal adult suffrage? As long as we remain together, we MUST find a way to co-exist peacefully.

Since you'll know there shouldn't be any issue with it, why are APC people making s big deal out of the fact that SE supported GEJ/Sambo of which none of them is Igbo?

This should be a case of live and let live. Don't point accusing fingers when there is/are similar issues in your case. Now all I want from GMB is performance and all I want from your APC supporters is to be objective and criticize when necessary and don't just create immunity for him because he's an APC candidate. Let his performance speak for him and no lie peddling.
shocked shocked wonders shall never end!!!

Who started the whole betrayal tag? Who started a journey through 'history' to show the Yoruba don't like SE people? Who went on a long journey of revisionism? Who has been screaming that the Yoruba sold the entire south to the north? Who has been calling the Yoruba 'slaves' for aligning with the same folks the SS &SE have ALWAYS aligned with all through the 55 years of Nigeria's independence? Who called their own sons 'traitors', 'efulefu' etc for joining the APC? Pls my friend.....don't make me laugh.

If GMB derails from the reason he won the popular vote, he will know its not for nothing that Yoruba produced the likes of Fawehinmi, Ransom-kuti's, Soyinka etc who have always opposed injustice and misrule by any leader be it Yoruba, Hausa or Igbo. The true opposition will start from the Yoruba e.g the lagos-ibadan press. You can count on that.

This is why I say many of you NLers are not supposed to be talking about these people because you don't know them or you've not been there before.

Are there only Hausa/Fulani Muslim in the north? Are there not Christians over there. Southern Kaduna is filled with tribes other than Fulani or Hausa and they are predominantly Christians. Plateau state and Taraba has other tribes and has quite a large number of Christians compared to Kano, Katsina, etc. Same goes to Gombe, Nassarawa and Niger. Need I remind you that other tribes migrated from the SE, SS, SW, NC to the core north too?

All the same, everybody ain't the same, that means no matter their ideology, there are still a few free thinkers over there. These ones will vote without sentiments and out of the 100%, Jona would have gotten say 2-5% of their votes. Disprove my facts bro..
1st off, I lived and worked in the north for almost 8 years across 7 NW, NE and NC states and even met and married my wife there. So if you think you know them, I know them very very well too.

your initial post didn't take into cognisance the points I bolded in this your recent post. If you knew the bolded, why paint a picture that portrays the northern Muslim as being intolerant of every other tribe?

Gej got 309,057 votes in sokoto while GMB got 540,769 in 2011. Was it only Christians that gave him this vote?

How do you explain that in the same 2011, gej got 1,175,954 in abia while GMB got only 3,608? Does that not give us an idea about who is more close minded?

Or can this be more accurately explained by the PDP rigging machine?

Bakare/Buhari of 2011 is quite different from Osibanjo/Buhari.there was no Tinubu and Acn in 2011.cant u guys see the difference?acn with Ribadu stand no chance in the north.Buhari/Bakare of cpc was the same Buhari of 2003,2007.wat worked for Buhari in 2015?the leaders of the south western region asked their ppl to vote for Buhari and they back it up with Osibanjo to be his vice.they should have made an Igbo man the vp lets see if the Yorubas will scream CHANGE.if u will nt deny it that was a great effect.SECONDLY Acn being a Yoruba party merged with cpc an Hausa party.another great effect.thirdly the big politician used their money to REBRAND him and make him presentable.never in the annal of the history of Nigeria have such election campaighn like the one we just witness tougher.so mr man there are many factors leading to Buharis victory and one of those is gej overtly SIMPLICITY which i think is nt healthy in politics
Which is why I'm still asking you why you and your friends screamed to the high heavens that gej didn't need the SW to remain president, If you believe SW leaders were the reason for the buhari brand? Were you simply lying to yourselves? Or you want to pretend you didn't see such threads?

Since you believe Yoruba always vote their own, why did gej waste 6 weeks trying to beg and bribe the SW for support?

GEJ got 1.6million votes from the SW, who gave him those votes?

Hehehehehehe, you make me laugh old brother... It's either you've never been out of SW before or you're campaigning from the UK... The part I put in italics is so damn fūcking wrong. Try and live for at least 4 years in the north then you'll know if there are exceptions to the born to rule Hausa/Fulani Muslim ideology. The average Hausa/Fulani almajiri is a born to rule and is regarded superior to you. If you doubt this, ask your brothers who have spent a long time in the north. In many cases, while I was schooling there, many things happened when it came to leadership roles. That is when I knew they are born to rule and we the infidels from the south are born to follow. Please do live in the north and then come back to single out a few of them as born to rule, then I will believe you..
Can you say for sure that no Hausa/Fulani Muslim voted for Jonathan in 2011? Can you also confidently say non did in 2015? Where then did the almost 8 million votes he got in the north in 2011 come from?

Are u admitting Jonathan rigged?

Unfortunately you and others didn't feel the SW was important until elections were postponed when gej practically relocated govt to SW

The same SW and Northcentral voted for him in 2011. Why? Because they all including I assumed he was going to be different but he proved us wrong by supporting the creation of more cabals........sadly.

This does not in any way address any of the points I raised.
Of course it did. We all know the northern establishment or Kaduna mafia has always liked power. It didn't start today but GMB can't be considered a true member of that power cult same way OBJ can't be considered a Yoruba regional politician. The northern poor are the bedrock of the fanatical support GMB enjoys in the north, not the elite or the power mongers. They're all in PDP and they threatened gej in 2011. Interestingly the same man who made the threat of Nigeria being made ungovernable for gej is Lawal Kaita, a man GMB jailed in 1984 for fraud and who is now a PDP bot member and gej till 2019 campaigner.

Also You're accusing gbawe of predicting northern hostility but the man at least proffered ways gej could succeed inspite of it because he truly cares about Nigeria. You and your friends have also been prophesying doom and SS&SE hostility for GMB without advicing on how you think he can override the storm to better the lot of the country. What is more important to you? GEJ winning an election or Nigeria moving forward?

Exactly. This is the exact thing I told an Igbo friend 2 days ago.

Let's assume the north didn't like Jonathan at all, hence his poor showing. How does anyone explain GMB, a Fulani Muslim defeating Jonathan, a christian in Benue state (predominantly Catholic) with natives that are believed to dislike Fulani muslims and a governor that is one of the staunchest and fanatical supporters of gej?

I didn't say Gbawe's posts I dug up proved that he didn't support GEH after he won, I was just amazed at how rightly he predicted the turn out of events and at the same time wondering why he suddenly abandoned his own prophecies. Gbawe boldly and correctly predicted in 2011 that GEJ's government will be sabotaged by the north through various means, but if you dare suggest that even in 2013 (just 2 years after the prediction) Gbawe will be the first to shout you down.
How often do you see a prophet disown his won prophecy just when it begins to manifest?
What could have been the reason for that?
He wrote something that struck me greatly..

Isn't that exactly how it turned out?
GEJ fights boko haram, he is termed anti-north by Buhari, accused of genocide by Nyako and dragged to ICC by northern elders for human rights abuse.
GEJ pampers boko haram, he is called weak and clueless by the same people.
This is what Gbawe rightly predicted, but if you dare suggest it today he will be the first to vehemently shout you down.
Doesn't anyone else find it strange?
And how many times did you see OBJ, his wife, his spokesmen, his close allies etc come out to use that card of 'northern gang up' against buhari in 2003? How many times did u find obj use that line as a defence against critics? How many times did obj come out to say the north was against him?

If GMB starts using 'expected SS hostility' to him as an excuse to under perform, he'll simply sound the death knell on his presidency because a leader should find a way to succeed not look for excuses to explain away failure.

Thank God GMB isn't known for avoiding responsibility. How many times have you heard him avoid taking responsibility for all his past actions? Even when you guys painted him as a devil?

June 12 annulment also seemed like the action to end humanity but here we are.....22 years after.

I too do not see anything like 'God's vindication' of Fr Mbaka's stance......the priest simply spoke like a Nigerian affected by the lack of governance that GEJ displayed. What is it about this betrayal rubbish? Is there no space for independent thought again?

Chekwas Okorie, a qualified igboman also contested.....how many Igbo voted for him?? Is that not the worst form of betrayal going by the writer's logic?
PoliticsRe: Why Are Some Jonathan Fans Still Hating?? by theV0ice: 8:47am On Apr 17, 2015
Gbawe, you actually have shamed critics who have been accusing you falsely. To think that you didn't hide your disbelief of gej's abilities but you still gave plenty useful suggestions on how he could succeed. You've shown you're larger than your small minded traducers.

Even your past posts they dug up absolve you of every accusation of bias and shows someone who is truly interested in the success of Nigeria. This I can say for most GMB supporters....at least down south.

GEJ lost, GMB won.......get over it or die in your bitterness. Your choice really.
