Oga the way you are going on about this your pro merit activism is rather not it, allow people to shield themselves from the rocky terrain that is the Nigerian labour market especially as it relates to Federal govt recruitments. It has become a coping mechanism for applicant's mental health from the jungle out here, because for some people their grades/age already puts them at a disadvantage in the private sector.

There's no one here that will not want to be a recipient/beneficiary of whatever the percentage slots of the merit candidates are. Because at the end of the day, the vast majority of us don't know anybody and as such we're only putting our hope on that. One thing we must not do is lie to ourselves or downplay the fact that connection plays a major role in federal government recruitments and that already stacks the odds against the numerous candidates who don't know anybody.

Most of us here have participated in one or numerous govt recruitments and we all know what the popular outcome has always been, we only continue applying because we are hoping for that breakthrough. Personally, I have learnt that a lot of people will be shouting merit while pressing buttons in the background and that was evident in my time on the DPR thread where people were shouting merit up and down, but at the end of the day the story was different.

This is not to dampen anyone's spirit, but just to let us know not to swallow every tale of merit with hook, line and sinker. And all the best to everyone in their endeavors and also in the course of the recruitment process.

The way you are sounding so confident as if you are the head of Finance at the department is laughable. I'm not privy to whatever the amount is and he's even from a poor family so the possibility of him getting help from family is out of the question. His fortunes only changed for the better after securing the job(not hearsay) and there's no way you're convincing me he is balling this hard with an annual income of under 1million naira and forget the issue of side hustle sef.

I laugh in Swahili... The guy in question is doing another parole you are not aware. The ND take-home in DPR as at today is N76,526.48k while their gross pay is N91,216.42k. The only people that got extra money unless you are in Retail Outlet Monitoring (ROM) where there is parole in deport or the guy in question is doing parole in on-stream or off-stream

I don't have any idea about the range of the pay but one thing I'm sure about is that it is on the high side.
One of the guys in my neighborhood who got the DPR job and even as a Technician(OND) still went about his annual ritual of buying a new car even in this Corona times and he's on the verge of completing his Mansion.

He got the job in 2018 and has changed 3 different cars already, with the new one always being a proper upgrade on the old one and it is like i said, I'm not privy to the figures.

Recruits here indicates one that is still in training school, that's the allowance meant for the duration of training. After POP, a recruit now becomes a Police Constable (PC)

I think you're most likely referring to this, which is just scammers handwork. It has scam written all over it and it doesn't make any sense for interview invites to be sent out of the blues.

It's a scam, Test and Interviews where done in 2017 and those that were successful resumed in 2018. And the address is off, so it's not legit.
