Jodera:Just ask any Chelsea fan who they'd prefer right now between Zidane and Pep if both were available and willing to come to Chelsea. ![]() It's a no-brainer. |
A001:SMH, Oga you dont even understand the argument here. Real Madrid has been the biggest and most successful club in the world since 2000 (over 23 years ago). That has not changed since then and is not the bone of contention here. The point is about the strongest group of player performance ever seen in any club at any given point in time, and the question arises, which of the great Madrid teams would consistently defeat Pep's 08-11 Barca side? Is it the three-peat version that a less strong Barca side was smashing 4-0, 3-0, 5-1 upandan? That is the koko. None of Madrid's great versions can stand toe to toe with Pep's Barca side. I rest my pen. |
Kilishihunter:It's the natural bias at play. All those offside goals vs Bayern, last minute pen vs Juve were as bad as Ovrebo's case, but they've chosen to play ostrich in the sand. Which Ref supported Barca to win in 2011 and 2015? Is it the deserved red card to Real Madrid in the Semis 2nd half? That would be laughable. When Arsenal was red carded vs Barca in the 2006 final since 24th minute first half, did you hear them give excuse that Barca won unfairly only because Arsenal got an early red? They weren't saying that because they were fiercely anti-Arsenal then. |
A001:You were unable to counter my points, so you then bailed out with an unrelated statement that I never disagreed with in the first instance. So that's a coded concession. |
a4turitoroman:Chai English hard for una to understand. But I refuse to do this work. |
A001:Thank you for conceding to my points. |
A001:Who's talking about voting? Most pundits both during interviews and in articles make reference to Barca 2008-2011 as the best ever in club football. It's the general perception in official football circles. You dont need to argue about this for argument sake. There is a reason why when City won this UCL, the benchmark against which they were measured was Barca 11 and not any of the Madrid teams. Which of the Real Madrid teams can defeat Barca 2008 - 2011 consistently? 1998 - 2002? 2013 - 2018 that a less potent Barca side was wiping the floor with? Or is it 1961 - 66 that Pele's Santos was rubbing shoulders with? None among them can. Real Madrid might be the greatest club of all time on an aggregate level but the best ever single team belongs to the Blaugrana. |
BlueAngel444:This will always be a subjective question. However, majority of the informed football ecosystem generally regard Barca 2008 - 2011 as the zenith of quality club football of all time simply because they displayed an unprecedented level of technique and domination of opponents never seen before at that level. On the national team front, Brazil 1970 and Spain 2008 - 2012 are generally considered the greatest. |
The funny one I know is: No mata how fast bumbum run reach, e go always dey behind prick |
MT:The expected slight loss in value to the Cefa would likely be more bearable when compared to the benefits from reduced food prices. Nigeria economics typically deviates from traditional economic theories, for example how do you explain how locally produced rice became significantly costlier after border closure when the theoretical idea was to improve local production and lower prices. |
MT:Are cars and rice from Benin republic priced in USD? If no, how would opening the border then increase the demand for dollar? |
Jodera:MJ might not have the highest number of musical awards or statistics, but in terms of overall musical personality and global impact, he is the greatest entertainer/artiste of all time. In fact he is one of the greatest/ most popular names of all times as his personality transcends music. In music, the other GOAT candidates are Frank Sinatra, Beatles, Elvis, Beyonce, Prince, Madonna and maybe Whitney. MJ trumps them all. MJ is an era-defining personality like Caesar, Da Vinci, Newton, Edison, Ghandi, Ghengiz, Mohammed Ali etc. |
I like how Obembet is now receiving sense small small. Now he has downgraded his assessment of Pendu from the greatest to the great. Congrats to Alhaji for his 200th cap but nawa for Pendulums sha. Messi scored a magnificent goal some days ago in addition to some mesmerising dribbling runs vs Australia, but we no dey loud am cos it's normal level for the GOAT. But ordinary tap in after ghosting for 90mins, una dey shout upandan. Well I understand they've been starved of bragging rights, so anything will do at this point ![]() |
Lol, First Bank, First Robot.. The robot was sha a bit clumsy and repetitive in handling the woman's request. Needs a little fine-tuning to have that 9ja vibe. |
You missed out on Yahooze and Konko below. Top 2 dances of the decade 2000 -2010. |
Pep is the only Manager in history to win two trebles (with UCL) and obviously the only one to win trebles with 2 different teams. He also won a third domestic treble. But the trophies are only a crowning moment. More importantly, Pep has revolutionized football. Yesterday, Inter's best could still not match City's worst performance of 2023 which testifies to the extremely high level Pep has taken City to. And it's not about the money. He turned a team with Ake, Akanji, Stones, Grealish, Foden, Gundogan, Dias, Foden who all are just average or decently good players individually into collective monsters. Some other team spent 600million pounds just to achieve 12th position. All that being said, this City team is still yet to reach the level of control, fearsomeness and utter domination that Barca 2008 - 2012 team had. That team remains the benchmark for the highest level of club football. Pls give Pep his Ballon D'or already! |

Today's match was probably the worst they played in 2023 yet they were still a bit too much for Inter to handle which testifies to the extremely high level he has taken City to. OJEEMAH:Factos💯 bruv! |
GOAT wey get sense and integrity. Looked at 400million camel USDs in the eye and confidently said No. Meanwhile na only less than two hundi million yearly dem dangle in front of Alhaji eye wey he tear race, run inside desert pass the speed of light His decision pain Pendulums ehn, they were waiting for him to join Saudi to lash back at us. But GOAT get levels pass them and their asun. Wanted by Barca, Chelsea and Newcastle unlike the Pendusted guy that couldn't even get Sporting Lisbon. |
iCauseTrouble:Lol, go and shout this at Saka Tinubu in V.I Lagos. |
The original Idan. Zlatan is never late. On the day Zlatan came late for training, the other team mates were penalized for coming too early. Enjoy your next stage Senor, possibly film-acting. |
OJEEMAH: Lol that's the antidote for Pendulums. At the mention of WC everyone of them must scatter.Them get luck say I no be Messi WC trophy pic spammer🤣, thank you for doing the Lord's work for me bro. |
Jokerman:Nah, let's talk about the World Cup, it was part of this season remember? |
Jokerman:Manners Joker, manners - very important when you talk about the GOAT. It's like you want to be Sunday schooled and I'll gladly oblige you. Without Messi's 32 goal contributions for PSG this season, they wouldn't even come second, more like 4th/5th. And what a way to win it. On the same day Pendusted bungled the title for Al Nassr, Messi won it for PSG. Levels dey to this thing. |
Congratulations to the GOAT. For 2 seasons in a row now, Lionel Messi has scored the title winning goal for PSG. #Unmatchable |
Kilishihunter:I agree. But the anti-Barca bias might not be strong with him on account of Messi. |
andrew444:True. He just needs to add the famous waist turn and some double leg ball-shift dribbles and you'd have a complete prime Busi replica. Hear he's got a good relationship with Messi as well. Think Barca should consider getting him now before spending 160m pounds in 3years time to prize him from elsewhere. |
MrMcJay:Lol Visionscape,is that not the audio waste management company Ambode gave Lagos contract to that was scrapped after his exit. It's good to look and project well before you leap. But I'm sure that by now that person would have found another good offer. |
By next year, Guardiola would probably be in a class of his own. He needs to keep his players motivated enough to do this though which might be difficult after winning such amount of trophies. That said, I concede Fergie is still the greatest EPL manager ever but that is only for now. If Pep wins it next year, he'll be the EPL GOAT. |
OJEEMAH:And just like Messi made them gobble up their vomit, Pep would do the same this year even though I believe without the UCL Pep's legacy is already sacrosanct. All modern football tactics, i.e the high-press, tiki-taka, false nine, inverted fullbacks (defenders acting as midfielders), Goalkeeper-sweeper, passing out from the back, were all pioneered/popularised by Pep. Even their teams now use these tactics yet they still call Pep a fraud. Some people are just destined to be perennial haters. Just ask all dem Klopp, Tuchel, Conte, Ancelotti, Wenger, Ferguson etc that who is the greatest tactician of this football era and I'm sure all will say Pep except only Mourinho. |
Joke of an opinion. Peps legacy goes beyond just trophies. He has influenced football in the past 8 years. Nowadays, even small teams play possession based football from the back and look for keepers that are good with their feet. All credit to Pep the pioneer. He is clearly better than Mourinho. |
