43-year-old Suthar, from Himmatnagar, Gujarat, in Western India, is recognised by the Guinness Book of World Records as the only person with more digits than anyone else on earth. Suthar has seven fingers on each hand and seven toes on each foot, and has become some sort of celebrity as people come from far and wide along with their children to see the ‘man with seven fingers’, reports MailOnline. ‘Because of my extra fingers, people here treat me as a celebrity. They come to see me and the attention makes me feel special. Children laugh when they see me doing funny tricks with my fingers. The expression on their face when they see my toes is priceless. It is because of my fingers that I have become a famous man. I consider my extra fingers and toes definitely are lucky for me and I do not want to cut them off.’ Suthar who suffers from a condition called Polydactylism, says he has to be extra careful when at work so as not to slice off one of his extra digits. ‘The extra fingers and toes certainly trouble me at times. I am a carpenter and work mostly with saw and hammer. I have to always be careful to avoid the fingers.’

Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Ibe Kachikwu, has disclosed that the Federal government may sell the three refineries located in Kaduna, Warri and Port Harcourt after they have been fixed and dimmed operationally efficient. Kachikwu disclosed this while speaking to state house correspondents in Abuja: He said: “The feeling of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) and the President is that we should first get the refineries to be efficient before we talk about privatisation, otherwise we will be selling scraps. In their present state nobody is going to offer you serious money. A huge amount of investment is going into this." The minister further explained that apart from this, there were other issues that could determine the final decision of the government on the refineries; the labour issues, for example, are some of the issues that must be addressed if such proposal would sail through. He noted that the government has thought out other possible means of getting the refineries back to full productivity adding that the government would be shopping for investors who are willing to invest money and competence in the refineries: “We have got to take the realities on ground. The decision therefore was to find investors who are willing, almost on a loan structure basis to put money, put the technical skills, work with our people who are there and we have very many skilled people, but let us face it, the fact that they are working today is because they are local people, they are local engineers who are able to resuscitate them. There is a capacity efficiency that we are not just tapping into now,” he said.

All is now set for Nigeria’s former President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, to appear in the ongoing trial of his former NSA, Col Dasuki, to testify in favour of the former NSA. He had earlier faulted the charges slammed on Dasuki, claiming that the ex-NSA could not have stolen $2.2billion. He was quoted to have said, “We bought warships, we bought aircraft, and we bought lots of weapons for the army. It’s not possible that he stole $2.1 billion.” The ex-NSA’s counsel, Mr. Ahmed Raji (SAN), said Tuesday that, “Dr. Goodluck Jonathan will testify in court. He is one of those who will testify and that the statement he made in London appears to be the first phase of the war chest of the ex-NSA.” “You know the ex-NSA said he acted on Jonathan’s instructions in disbursing some of the cash, and from the look of things, the ex-President is now ready to accept responsibility for whatever Dasuki did. So far, we have secured the consent of Jonathan to appear in court for Dasuki. This will make the trial worth it.” He also said, “Dasuki has a list of highly-placed beneficiaries from the arms cash. A particular traditional ruler got about N500million as a gift from the government through the Office of NSA. There are many hidden beneficiaries whom Nigerians must know. Nigerians will be shocked by some revelations. Nothing short of open trial will let Nigerians know the truth. We are ready for this.”
