Rad1cal: Those who liked your post are equally as silly as you.

The supreme court has decided, those against it can "Go and Die" cool
Who is silly now? The guy made valid point all you said is go and die... If you don't have valid points to make or add to the topic, please move on and let other people express their views. I think you are the one to bury your head in shame, because you don't have reasonable contribution to add to these debate.
BusinessRe: What Are The Products Nigeria Make? by Thomsbuky(m): 10:49pm On Dec 13, 2013
phuck_NL: No developing nation can become developed without POWER. If NEPA is not resovled, we're simply wasting our time discussing anything else.
If i were President, my entire mandate for 4years would be NEPA NEPA and NEPA alone. I don't care if i'm castigated or not but i know once NEPA is fixed EVERYTHING will start falling in place.
I agree with your point. I have said this several time, Nigeria government should concentrate on providing power supply 24hours distribution without blackout to powering our industries and Business. We should learn how to crawl before walking. Electricity is number one priority project Nigerian government should embark on. The day we can achieve 24 hours without disruption that is the day Nigeria will start developing...... However, the enemy of Nigeria the so call Government, contractor, Nigeria civil services ( if we have one) and Generator suppliers/contractor are disturbing Nigeria progress... After all let there be light and darkness will vanished, progress will follow.
CultureRe: Nigerians Have Very Low Self-esteem by Thomsbuky(m): 8:56pm On Dec 13, 2013
Fulaman198: The constant selling out of culture in favour of European culture, the favouritism of European languages on this forum is enough to implicate how lost most Nigerians on this forum are.

I do salute a few people though like Odumchi, Macof, Bigfrancis who keep it real with their culture and are not selling out their culture in favour of another.

You see many threads for Portuguese learning, German learning, Spanish learning, etc however there is a huge lack of African language threads. What exactly does German for example have to do with Nigerian culture. This is a disgrace. Everyone wants to be like everyone else with no pride in who they are. Even Ajuran, has more pride in who he is more so than the Nigerians here.
Your assumption that Nigeria learning other culture languages have low esteem is absolutely flaw. I don't know where you get your fact to back this claim?. However, even in Europe, America and Asia countries colleges student are encourage to learn at least two foreign language in their final GSCE ( WEAC) foreign languages in school like mandarin, french germans and english etc. take for instance if you are able to speak Mandarin china language, you stand better chance going to china for business, holiday, relates to local in their language. it help booster good relationship, business dealing and learning other people cultures....Are you telling me this is low and Bad Esteem? Language bring people together, e.g. I am able to speak Hausa and Igbo language it help me to relates better with Hausa and igbo people and cultures....In those day we are told to learn (WASOBIA) language, if our government are serious, should have make it compulsory in our colleges to do one or two of these language in final (WAEC) examination. it would have help us more to learn more about other people cultures toward one Nigeria we are craving for.. In my own opinion learning other culture language does implied low esteem its quite opposite, it give you an advantage over those who did not.

I Love my present wife soul mate. However, I will never forget Jummy Kesh first love. I remeber us talking about future plans and dream of becoming couples, looking into each other eyes and passionate kissing. she is gentle, softly spoken , loving caring with good personality. She rock my world at disco parties, envy of my freinds those day. Until I went abroad to search for golden fleece, you know what they say? you cannot have your cake and eat at same time. PoliticsRe: Jonathan Snubbed At Mandela's Memorial by Thomsbuky(m): 5:20pm On Dec 10, 2013
Its very unfortunate and un acceptable that Nigeria (president) should be ignore no matter what goes on internally between Nigeria and South African government. We put a lot of effort in making South African to achieve independence in terms of Material, resources and moral support given to ANC. Is it not irony those government like USA, Britain that support apartheid label Mandela ANC as terrorist group are given high sit at his funeral. These indicate how our fellow African country pay us back... I think great man Nelson Mandela (in loving memories ) would have love Nigeria President to give talk on these occasion, yet those he left behind have not learned any lesson from the great man how he forgive those who castigated him.

Good for the state. However, few word caution to our Governor. I wonder what kind investment Spain got to offer Nigeria? Is it not same Spain that Economy sector struggling to survive that European Union pumping fund to stabilize and boast it economy... OP, It should be other way round Nigeria investor buying Spanish resorts that are bankruptcy loads of cheap holiday resorts for sell now... Nigerian investor should be buying some of these resorts to be reselling in a year or two when housing sector pick up again, investor on these property will make huge ROI.

People abroad should come back home. There is no place like home.
Are you kidding me? huh Abattoir and dogs centre are cleaner than that poo call Epe Hospital.. I won't send my dog for treatment in that place, not to talk of human being. However, I am not surprised with neglected facilities usual both Federal or state argument kind of on going tussle on who is responsible... I had witnessed such a scene two years ago, in Abeokuta was told its Federal hospital, to say hello to my friend's wife who just gave birth. I saw mother and new born baby sweating, no light, in this shabby place call private maternity ward. I was told state hospital even worst than this particular federal one.. tears started coming out of my eyes, as I saw these baby first few days on earth going through stress and struggle to survive...not a good start in life. Its very disheartens and emotional kind of situation and I felt guilty because I am powerless to help my friend's family. OP, I hope your mum is feeling better now, Please take mum out of that place, if you don't want her to get another health hazard.

theoctopus: Breaking News: Asari Dokubo has been release unconditionally by the government of the Republic of Benin...More details coming http://mobile.saharareporters.com/news-page/asari-dokubo-released-beninoise-gendarmes-flown-abuja
I can't believe President Jonathan liaised released of Asari and used Nigeria resources (presidential plane} brought him back home). The question we should be asking Mr president is Why this noble act? while majority of cyber warriors here kept insulting people who want an explanation. one would thought (Asarigate) would be liability toward his re-election in 2015. However, looking @ some of the write-up of (electorate) here in Nairaland supporting this act of intervention by Mr president appear to be the right thing. In the western world, this would have been last straw and ammunition for electorate to be shouting "Not in my name come 2015 that this president will be re-elected if its true" Its absolutely appalling and immorality for highest public servant to be involved in this scandal. However, I hope its not true as some shahara reporter's stories sometime are not true.

AutosRe: Tariff On Imported Cars To Rise By 60% by Thomsbuky(m):
omanzo02: This regime is very necessary, if the dealers are smart they have to encourage their brand manufacturers to set up a depot in Nigeria for a start, I give u an example, in most European countries the manufacturer have depots where they don't have factories or assembly plants and still enjoy favourable tax and tarief regime, cars appear cheaper in Germany but when I bring that car to Belgium to register for use I will be paying more than I am supposed to if I had bought that same model in Belgium.

Nigeria has become a big market for cars, it's a way of asking the manufacturer to directly invest in the country if they want benefit in expanding their brand.

For now it difficult for our pocket but it benefit the country in the long run.
I agree with some of the point you are putting across. However, we need to ask ourselves and government what kind of Business environmental factors in terms of infrastructure , sociological, technological factors in place in Nigeria for these multinational firms to operate in Nigeria? These firms are not charity organisation, They want to operate in favourable environment (less cost) in order to maximise profit and retention back to their home base. Hence rise of Asia tigers like ( china, Indian, Malaysia etc) are good sources for western countries to produce, assemble their capital goods. Take a look at these two factor car manufacturing plant will need 24 hours adequate power supply, not generator as it will make the price of local assemble cars very expensive to compete with foreign import cars in the long runs. Transportation of finished cars to various states required good haulage network system by Road, Sea, rail and network of good road. Do Nigeria have good roads network and haulage transportation in place? to transfer cars safely to buyer in Samfara in north or Abakaliki in East? If we can't provide these basic 2 factors, how on earth can we compete with Asian countries in terms of these facilities for company like toyota, Honda, ford, to produce at cheaper rate in order to assemble cars in Nigeria?. What happen to Volkswagen of Nigeria Plant, Peugeot Automobile of Nigeria? If we can provide answer to these questions then we half way home. One of these plant folded up and other operating partially as importation of car parts dealer. due to our hostile inadequate business environment in Nigeria. Our government need to carryout out research, investigate and provide answer to failure of these two plants before we wasted another scare resources embarking in another meaningless elephant project.
AutosRe: Tariff On Imported Cars To Rise By 60% by Thomsbuky(m):
djon78: And people will say Goodluck is clueless, this is an excellent move. When I returned to Nigeria I wept at the number of SUV on Nigerian roads, I factored in the colossal amount Nigeria loses to these cars, I suggested that govt should impose high tariff on them in some countries I have been in they impose up to 150 percent. So I say it is a very good move by GEJ and Okonjo Iweala. And this will encourage local production and job opportunities, once again, nice move.
I disagree with your thought that you return to Nigeria and find a lot of SUV on roads. Meaning what? Which countries impose 150% tariff?, where in Africa, Europe or America?. The only duty impose on suv in Europe and America are green tax and emission tax as Suv vehicle gassed a lot of petrol and a lot more co2 than average normal car, that was believe to be harmful to the environment. Do you know why people used suv cars in Nigeria? In my own case due to safety, agile and Nigerian pot holes. I used car, was nearly crush me to dead due to bad roads. However, buying suv jeep is one of the smarts move that I make. The Obansanjo regime did same policies what happen? The neighbourhood countries like Cotonou, smugglers and Nigerian customs were the sole beneficiaries as Nigerians start using alternative cheaper port to bring vehicle into the Country. I am not against increase in car import tariff, to help home car assemblers that will create more jobs, However, I think the federal government should give Nigerian citizen alternative, like good roads, more public transport , public Buses, Rail transport to take us safely from A-B. my take...

Its difficult issue, don't know whether to sit on the fence or call spade a spade on this topic. I am strictly believer of people obeying and complying with states bye laws. Raji, I love your good governance and quality leadership.... As elderly citizen of Lagos state (Ologun Kutere) destroying those bikes, is bridge too far apart. We all know these Okadas breaches state traffic laws and road nuisance. However should you not have consider heavy fines, that will deter these people from re offending? I am sure these Okadas pay yearly renewal road tax?, have basic right to use these road like cars? I will like you to reconsider rather than destroying these bikes, charge first time offender heavy fines and let them go. While those who continue re-offending caught two or three times, have their bikes confiscated and destroy because they refused to comply with the state law.

Reading through this tread....i understand y Nigerians are discriminated against all over the world. When someone treats a fellow citizen like an animal and most of y'all dont see anything wrong, i weep for you all. What ever happened to preservation of human dignity? Would you feel same way if an oyinbo did dis to a Nigerian?

Most of you on NL needs to go to school again to be trained on civilised behavior.
Democracy or not most Nigerian are indiscipline...hence request for jungle treatment.. There is overhead bridge and he refused to use it, thereby endangering his life and that of innocent motorist (might be you driving along that road). I don't know if you are born during Buhari and Idiagbon regime, (War against Indiscipline) please try and cross road those day and claim human right.. Soldier enforcing law in this case should be appalled rather than someone like you lecturing us on human right your ass.... Please weep for yourself man, should you ridicule or subject yourself like animal people will treat you that way. , You talk of "Oyinbo" they don't behave or cross road without Green man lighter designated crossing area, because they knows the consequence. In Oyinbo country pedestrian, motorist know their right and obey the traffic by laws, in this case I think our man deserve the harsh treatment he got.

How many head of states have you seen performing these kind of religious act in secret site and publishing them to public? This is publicity image disaster, and who ever advice the President to show these picture should be sack. Honestly, I don't know the purpose of this picture? and I think this image bring disreputes to the seal of Nigerian presidency office. I believe it should be private personal album collection.

I am not sure on Bilateral agreement with Israel is most important thing, Nigeria should be focusing at these moment on our Air and plane safety our priority should be on how to make these plane safe for both domestic and international air travellers.. We should be very careful signing agreement with all these countries based in Middle east..(Israel) have problem with Palestinian occupying their territory... its diplomatic time bomb therefore we should be very caution with these kind of country as they might invite terrorist sympatiser into our countries as they would want to hurt us as friend of Israel. We got home grown terrorist enough to handle, not to start inviting these foreign jihadist and other deadly group. Please word of advice to our Government don't start jumping into bed with these countries with diplomatic pressure bags. However, if you signed these kind of agreement with these type of country keep it confidential, not clear why aviation ministry release these kind of information now?, its to subtle or coverup for on going furore over bullet proof car scandal?
