Hello, I want to ask if I can request for CBSA or GMCs Notes myself. I’m currently in Nigeria

Nah you can't. You have to do that through a third-party

I think it's better to send to VFS Abuja. Sending to VFS Lagos is a lot of stress. First, they'd send to VFS Abuja, then VFS Abuja sends to IRCC Abuja (embassy). And I don't think VFS Lagos sends these passports to Abuja on a daily basis. They probably wait a few days and then dispatch in bulk.

I may be wrong though but that's my observation.

Submitting without paying the SMS fee has its own challenges too, I think. VFS rarely updates the message you get when you type in your tracking number unless it's almost ready for collection. Most times, you have to chat with them or send a mail before they update. It's quite frustrating.

I was actually gonna send to VFS Abuja but given the whole terrorist alert thing. I wasn't sure they were back to operations fully again.
But let's see how it goes sha.

I pray they know what they are doing and it won't take 2weeks.
I was a bit confused as to why it was sent to Abuja.

Yeah, pray so too. Sent mine to Lagos also on Friday. Will update you tomorrow once I know where it's at.

No ooh

Have checked the message since the day they sent it, but I don’t know why it showing November 16

I just did the medical on 31st of March 2022, because I believe maybe with that it can allow them look at application again

I ordered for GCMS Notes on 29th of March 2022

Have been sending them mails and webform for months now

Hi Chief, please contact an MP in your province or more specifically- the one in your city.

There are theories that MP inquiries trigger an action on an application.

It’s possible they are triaging the processing.
Probably Abuja is now operating at max capacity. You know after the terrorist scare, people probably stopped submitting there.

Good day gurus,
Pls I need help on how to package my proof of funds as my mother who is my sponsor plans to sell her properties for 12m, would it be enough for an estimated tuition of CAD19800, also am thinking of using it as gift deed, or how shuld i present it to the visa officer? My sponsor also has intention to use the money to increase her business so she can be paying the school fees from her buisness. I would also like to know if I should add mpower loan to back it up.pls advise me on it

Given your response,

Living exp for 3 years = 30k CAD
Tution = 19800 or 20k sha

Total 50k CAD. By CBN’s rate, this is about 16.5M.

So the 12M might not work. You’ll need to back this up with something else

Wish you all the best

Dear Gurus in the house.
Please i have a question. my sister got admission and about to apply for visa. She has two kids. both american citizen (by birth though all in Nigeria presently). The last born does not have a Nigerian passport yet but done and she was told it might take some time before she gets the babys Nigerian passport. She is press in time and want to apply ASAP .
Question is can she apply for the study permit with the united state passport for them or what other option is available. though i was also thinking since usa citizen can go into canada for 6mth without visa probably she can just do hers and when she gets to canada and also whe she has gotten their passport she can then apply for student permit for them in canada. Please any guidance will be appreciated.
Thanks

I believe, although not 100% sure, she can apply for them with the American passports

Could you please share the email format you forwarded to IRCC requesting your application status. This will be really helpful because my application has passed the processing time. I have tried sending emails but I keep getting generic response.

This was a response I got after sending webform.

Subject: [URGENT] | Study Permit Application | Sxxxxxxx | Over 130 days / 19 weeks

Respected Sir/Ma'am,

I hope this e-mail meets you well.

My name is Bleep, I am contacting you to kindly expedite the processing of my Canada Study Permit Application which has exceeded the STANDARD PROCESSING TIME of 12 weeks.

My application timeline goes thus,

- Biometrics Request: xx
- Upfront Medical: xx
- Biometrics Passed: xx
- Medical Updated to Passed: xx
- Background Check: In Progress
- Eligibility: Not Started
- Proposed Travel Date: xx
- Resumption Date: xx

Based on the aforementioned, I would gladly appreciate it if I can get an update on my application because, with every passing day, I lose ample time to prepare for my traveling and to put things in order - both in my family, my personal relationships and at my workplace.

My Application Number is xx and my UCI number is xx.

I look forward to hearing from you soon

Thanks

Swears bro.

Used DHL here on 16th, vfs sent me receipt acknowledge mail yesterday 17th.

Put your passport, two photocopies of your ppt bio data page (write your email and phone number on the photocopies), the ppt request letter, two filled consent forms and your biometrics slip in a large brown envelope and ship to them.
Write your full name, address, email and phone number on the envelope.
They already knew the vfs office address to ship to immediately I mentioned Canada visa office but for your own knowledge it's:
Canada Visa application centre
Ground floor,
The manor plot 110, admiral ayinla way
Treasure garden estate, third roundabout
Lekki.

Saw where someone mentioned two way courier, I don't know what it means and had already shipped before I saw the post.

Congratulations once again bro.

Will dooo!! Many thanksss.

Once again, its PPRRRRR - Loooooonnnnggggg post alert!!

First off, I’d like to thank God and many members of this platform for helping and keeping things running on here.

My profile in summary: 25y/o single male, parent sponsored, Computer Engineering BSc, graduated with second class upper, going for MSc, Computational Sciences. Graduated in 2020, worked as a Software Engineer ever since then.

Timeline and Events
New Portal
First-time applicant
Applied by myself. Learnt all from Google, Youtube, and Nairaland

July 4: Upfront medicals
July 8: Application on New Portal
July 8: Biometrics Request
July 13: Gave biometrics and received on portal
** Somewhere in between I’d uploaded my medical sheet from IOM via webform. Can’t remember when.
August 4 (2AM): Sent mail to Lagos, Nairobi, London and attached my medical sheet.
August 4 (Around 1pm): Biometrics and Medicals updated to pass.
** Long wait, ordered notes, CBSA and GCMS, nothing tangible.
October 11: Sent mail to MP
October 13: MP got back literally saying the same thing on portal.
** Around this period, started firing several versions of mails and webforms.
Nov 16: MP reached out to them again – Preassessment done, eligibility not started.
Nov 17 (Around midnight): Sent mails to Beijing, London, Lagos, Abuja, Nairobi.
Nov 17 (Around 12pm): Eligibility review started on portal
Nov 17 (Around 9pm): BVL and PPR

Little story, for POF which is usually a concern, I had like 5.5M in my account, $2k USD in dorm account. 5M was gift deed from my Dad, he had 25M in fixed deposit since July 2021. As at the time I applied, the money was fixed. There were several opinions about this, but I kept it that way even though I was scared sh*tless. The closing balance of that account was 77k in fact.

Around November 9 ish, I sent updated statement showing liquidated funds and my Dad transferred the balance of like 8M to me since I’d enrolled in courses. My savings in Naira and USD had grown, I also got salary raise at work so I packaged all these and sent severally via webforms – both old and new. Oh yeah, I’ve ordered like 3 notes and I still have 4 pending lol.

I’m adding all of these because I’m not sure what did the trick. It’s pretty much a combination of all.
