Smarthill18: It's PPR for my brother. I'm so happy.
Second time applicant; Conestoga College 1st application was done through an agent. He Got a rejection due to financial reasons. We ordered his GCSMS and the Visa officer claimed he didn't have enough proof of relationship with his sponsor (Sister). Hence, he wasn't sure he will be able to afford it financially. He had to defer his admission to January 2023 and re-applied again. All thanks to @scott99tish for his advice.
Second application: Self
Application submission : 27th August
Upfront Medical passed : 26th September
Eligibility: Ghost update. Didn't know when it was updated.
Original passport collection: 17th November
What we did different to address the visa officers concerns (proof of relationship with sponsor);
I opened a canadian GIC account and Submitted the GIC certificate
I Wrote a strong SOP and LOE explaining that sponsor is my blood sister
- Sponsors notorized Affidavit of sponsorship Sponsors birth certificate, old pictures, old/dated whatsapp messages Notarized Affidavit of relationship Recent family pictures Letter of sponsorship from sponsor Family tree Sponsors marriage and change of name certificate/Affidavit Bank statements Sponsors Assets Congrats to you and yours! |

johnstan: Lol it's crazy I know. It's as expensive as you can imagine. I knew it barely covered 2 yrs and seeing People's POF and explanation here was a great discouragement so i explained the hell out of my SOP as regards that stating that subsequent years would not be a problem. It may not work for everyone but it worked for me. I even quoted their IRCC minimum requirement for POF at some point and explained that I had more than that lol. It's just God that did it for me. Loool! Bad guy. They would not want to have issues with you since you quoted them verbatim. Congratulations once again! I feel a lot of people might learn from this. Can you modify your timeline with this info? |

My nephew still waiting for positive news though. Submitted on August 9th. Since then no update only medical passes on October 18th. Till today eligibility hasn’t started . I help him submit the application. Loool, I can imagine your concerns. I used new portal too. July 8th - still waiting. |

Preciousseeder: Many many thank you.
No no, I don't have a post graduate degree yet.
So, I should focus on study route. Yeahhh because Post graduate degrees are what gives extra points - then married people with spouses who are educated. Since you have neither, study will be your best bet. You can also go to the CIC website and estimate your score then compare to the latest draw. |

Preciousseeder: Good evening everyone.
I really want to appreciate everyone, both the person's asking questions and those selflessly providing answers.
I studied Agric. Engineering in the University and graduated in 2014 with a high 2.1. I finished my Youth Service in 2015 and joined the work force as a sales Executive.
I've been in sales till date.
I'm considering moving over to Canada.
I'm single and will be 33yrs by January.
Please, my good people, I'm here as a novice seeking for your advice on which route I should follow in pursuing my ambition.
Between Study and PR option which one should I follow and the how-to go about each of those options.
Thank you so much, everyone in advance. If you don't currently have a post graduate degree, study will be the best bet. |

POKIRIERI: Which school can I apply to for quick admission? I'd have love University of Saskatchewan but many persons complain they don't get response from supervisors there. Please help with suggestions. Thanks It's mostly colleges that respond quickly. Not sure of any Uni that responds fast - especially not University of Saskatchewan. Most faculties usually like to close applications before responding - either in bulk or on a rolling basis. |

loohlaah: Good evening people.. I greet ooh.
Please if you received PPR using new portal, kindly indicate or mention it, please. This will encourage some of us to keep the hope alive. Though people keep saying whether you applied through new portal or GCKey, it doesn’t matter, I agree. However, Looking at the recent PPRs we’ve received here, especially for August applicants, everything seem to be from GCKey.
Indicating new portal or old portal (GCkey) would help us count down too or atleast to relate to the flow of approval from both portals. Although I can’t tell you what to do. I am only making an humbly plea. Thanks. Bikoooo people. All dem part 19 people used to do it then and e be like new portal sure na why I use am |

milkay: Hello everyone,
Please I need some advise. I'm recently divorced with a kid and I intend going for my studies without my child. I have full custody and a court order granting monthly upkeep from his dad. Do I need to include this information in my SOP? If yes, do I need to explain where he would live and who would take care of him while I am away in my SOP for study visa?
I'd appreciate your kind responses. Thank you Yup, include all of what you mentioned in your SOP. Given that you have full custody, it'd help with the home ties. |
