KimberleyNl: Good day everyone, I need advice concerning POF please. I have a balance of 11m in my account and I am going for a 2 year course. My Tuition is 17075, and I paid 2500 cad, though my school doesn't require Tuition deposit. Obviously my 11m is not enough for 2 years, I want to ask if my 2 brothers can sponsor me for the second year, or I self sponsored myself and explain how I will pay for the second year fees. Please kindly respond Yup, your brothers can definitely sponsor you. Just make sure you get sponsorship letters from them, make sure their financials do not raise any red flags and you also put your own account statement too. Then explain in detail how payments and financing will be made. If possible, have them both do gift deeds to you. Wish you all the best. |

They also got that mail we got on the 25th. I really dunno what Lagos' people fates are bayii. Any update on your end? |

padie77: Got a refusal on Nov 28th
Application submitted - - November 15th Biometrics collection letter --November 16th Biometrics date -- November 21th Biometric completed--November 21th No info about medical Going for a year PGD course at Geogian college School Resumption date - May 2023
Refusal reason-- Your assets and financial situation are insufficient to support the stated purpose of travel for yourself (and any accompanying family)
I submitted POF of 20m, Inflow outflow of 40m
What could be wrong? Hi, So sorry about your refusal. There could be a number of factors responsible for this. - Are you self sponsored or sponsored by immediate family member or third party? - How many years work experience do you have and did you show proof of income? |

johnstan: I contacted VFS via chat after ppr dropped and they sent me a mail detailing the ppt submission process so I knew before going to DHL, I didn't even know people did 2 way DHL service till I stumbled on it here after submission.
No feedback yet, wanted to chat them today but change my mind because their last email update was in Friday. Ok no wahala na. Maybe once it is back in Lagos, I'll go and pick it up in-person. Hope I won't have issues since I didn't pay that 9310 fee? I only paid 990 own but I don't even get any SMS |

johnstan: I'm not certain about this stage but VFS always state that they usually return ppts through their own courier service and I don't think it's DHL.
Why not contact VFS to know the courier service they used so you can track the package and retrieve it timely. Omo DHL didn't tell me this o. They collected money for two-way from me. Any update on your passport yet? |

Glad to hear from everyone, currently shopping for cheap flights to vancouver while praying for my family's application. It will end in praise Unfortunately she deactivated her account after she was rejected. The weird thing is her eligibility said Recommend Passed or Passed, not sure which before she was eventually rejected. Was pretty sad. |

Most people that got their PPR later abandoned this thread but you and a few others (I think johnstan and others I can't remember their monikers) still followed the thread advising, helping and encouraging others. God will bless you and others like you and Canada will favour you in the name of God Amen Amen thanks. Really hoping others can do the same but I mean, it is what it is. May God help us all. |

johnstan: Congratulations once again. Your POF case is same as mine and God did it.
It's safe to say that the POF info on IRCC still holds water, however, showing POF for the entire program duration would not be a bad idea. Hi johnstan, Have you gotten this mail? Your application, tracking ID No.123456789 has been received and is under process at the IRCC Office on xyz

Thomsyne: Wish you all the best.
PPR - Passport Request: Once your application is approved, the visa office sends you a letter requesting for your passport so they can affix a counterfoil on it.
IRCC - Immigration, Refugees and Citizens Canada: Its like Nigerian Immigration but that of Canada
Webform - This is a form available for you to fill and submit to IRCC based on your request. It could be maybe you have an update to your application you want to send to them, or you want to ask for application status, etc. Think of it like contact form.
IOM - International Organization for Migration: Medical Institute in Lagos and Abuja where you do your medical screening for purpose of immigration. There's also QLife
Nairobi Office - This is IRCC's office based in Nairobi, they are mostly responsible for processing Nigerian Study Visa applications
Upfront Medical - Typically, after you submit your application to IRCC, after some time, they send a request for you to go for medical screening. At this point, finding a close date might not be possible. In addition, it could take some time for your results to get to IRCC and for your application to get finalized. So imagine this extra wait after waiting for months to get an update on your application. Now, upfront medical is pretty much going to do your medical screening even before IRCC requests for it in order to save time.
MP - Member of Parliament: Think of them like House of Rep member in Nigeria. So in cases where an application is taking too long, people contact the MPs within the area of their school to help them get feedback from IRCC. The details might not be lengthy but it more often than not has information that isn't on your application portal. Some postulate that it triggers an action on your file - especially if it's past the standard processing time and I think I agree.
CBSA - Canada Border Services Agency: Pretty much border control but the reason you'll see this here very often is because.... I'll get to that. You can order something called GSMS notes from IRCC. These notes contain detailed information about your application and people use this to travk the progress on their application. Now you can order your notes from CBSA and this typically arrives in 30 days standard. It contains pretty much the same thing you'll get from IRCC. The GCMS notes ordered from IRCC takes like 30-300 days now. Even that 30 days no sure.
MBA - Masters of Business Administration cc Lagoseko GCMS and CBSA explain above. SOP is statement of purpose. Basically a letter you write to the embassy stating your reason for applying for a study permit. |

Aduragbemioluwa: Hello thomsyne, please I need your assistance on how to order the notes. Which one is faster gcms or cbsa. Also please can you explain to me how you ordered your notes. My application was refused since Sept and I have been confused on how to order my notes. I have a question and this question is directed to you and other members in this forum Please is it possible for me to get all the documents including SOP that I used to apply for my study visa. I used an agent in my first application and he did not do a good work on file. So I told him that I am not going to reapply again that I want my tuition deposit. Meanwhile I don't want to work with him again so I requested for all the documents he used to apply for my visa which he gave me, but I just have the suspicion that the Sop he sent to me is not the actual Sop he used to apply for my visa. To clear my doubts that is why I asked this question. Please forgive me for my lengthy write up, To everyone expecting PR God answer your prayers. You shall have testimonies. Hiii, So sorry about your refusal. You can get your full notes from https://gcmsnotes.com/ or https://getgcms.com/en/order-now if you have dollar card. However, ask Anon123, Justmellow or GCMSwriters if they can also order full file. I know they do GCMS and CBSA. You can pay them in Naira. |

As a side note to anyone reading this. My CBSA notes came a couple days ago and I realized that a particular webform I submitted got to them and reflected in my notes - it was addressed to RROC. I also noticed that the Primary Office changed from Nairobi to RROC in the notes that came after my approval so I would implore those that have been waiting for a while to focus on webforms. The old one, new one and there’s a variant of the old one that isn’t addressed to any office. The webforms I sent were to Lagos, Nairobi, Beijing, London and that ordinary one that isn’t addressed to any office. Wish everyone the best. |

johnstan: Tho not an advice from a visa officer as we don't have visa officers here, Your best option is application to further your studies based on your under grad qualification or your current working experience.
Your undergrad is computer science so you're off on a good start, however, because you do not have working Experience in your previous degree but with your brother's business and also considering the study gap, ensure to explain in your SOP why you chose your current course, the benefits you stand to gain from studying the course etc... If it will benefit your brothers business don't forget to mention that as well and you will be fine.
Good luck. Hey hey, forgot to update you, my PP was sent to Abuja also despite addressing it to Lagos. |

Prosperkossy: Pls sir while uploading ur bank statements or ur sponsors bank statements, is it advisable to explain with short note of the lump sum made in the bank under the bank statement or u have to include the short note where other documents re being uploaded like sop, landed properties etc It is best to explain it just before the bank statements within the same document. I don't think anyone would be going back and forth between your SOP and POF documents to read about lump sums. This is a sample I used in my case. This account shows an inflow of xyz which was first deposited in my xyz account then sent to my xyz account and the rest from a contract job I was paid for via Transferwise, into my xyz account. I then forwarded these funds to my xyz account which I then used to pay my school fees deposit. The last inflow of xyz is remaining June Salary from xyz.You can also use a table to explain. I’ve attached a sample
