I have compressed life out of my documents, yet I can't get the required 4mb size limit and I don't want it to get the point that everything will get blurry. Please can I do I really need to upload this documents Asap

Are you sure all of them are absolutely necessary? Because if you compress too much and the most essential ones become blurry, na own goal be dat o.

I need response from people that has experienced it here.

It is not a guarantee of approval.
It just means there is activity on your application. Maybe a VO reviewed it or transferred it - could be anything.

That's because most people use the old portal. There have been PPRs in this thread from the new portal.

Any reason why people prefer the old one? Cos if you search PPR with images, new portal takes like 10% or less - in recent times anyways.

But please, is it like a loan from bank when travelling out?

No, not a loan. They exchange your Naira for foreign currency but you need to meet certain conditions.

Just to encourage someone here as i was encouraged here by someone too.

ALL HONOR TO THE MIGHTY GOD

I have been a silent Nairaland member for over eleven years and I learnt everything about visa applications. After eleven years of applying for visas to different countries and chopping breakfast left and right (including ten years of UK ban), God finally says it is my time to share my own testimony. I have a very bad immigration history with countless refusals from the UK to Italy,Germany,Ireland, and the USA, but God did it.

My first application to Canada in Feb got refused on 31st of May this year, though my SOP wasn't that good because i had thought my UK ban would affect the application, but I just wanted to try my luck, and on my GCMS note i saw that my eligibility was recommend passed before eventually got refused, and the reasons were about an unexplained lump sum and a business account, which is not true, so i felt i was a bit closed and decided to try again, and a friend helped me with a very good SOP and God showed me favour .

Application submitted -July 4
Medical Updated-Aug 25
Eligibility- Oct 17
PPR- Oct 28

Thanks to everyone here that is trying their best to help one another. I pray everyone expecting PPR gets theirs soon.
God is the greatest.

Cheers! Congratulations

Are you serious? Why don't all Canadian provinces do the same? Why don't they all keep tuition the same for local and international students like Quebec?

Quebec is like a European country in Canada. Things are very different there.

International students' tution is pretty much a source of income for them. They're not running charity o, let's not forget.
The guys running these programs are doing this to attract workforce and, of course, the money, albeit little compared to what they could be earning knowing fully well the French thing might be why students aren't trooping into their provinces.

1. LOA
2. Full tuition payment for my program. It’s a one year PGD program.
3. GIC certificate of CAD10,000
4. CAC registration for my business
5. Sales/Purchase invoice for my business
6. NECO result
7. B.Sc Degree certificate
8.NYSC Certificate
9. Birth Certificate
10. NIN
11.Personal 4months bank statement. I didn’t use MBS I just scanned a statement from my bank.
12. Passport Data page
13. Upfront Medicals from my first application November last year. I did this on purpose because I wanted to know when they ask for updated medicals.
14. Police Clearance also a year old from my last application.
15. Dom Account statement showing I bought the GIC from my personal account.
16. One page SOP. Keep it simple and concise at least in my opinion.
17.Landed property in my name as home ties. Just the survey plan.

This was my second application. I was refused on grounds of personal assets and financial status even though I had paid the complete school fees. But I had most of my funds for living expenses in a fixed deposit account in my name. I guess they don’t like fixed deposits as POF for living expenses.

What I did differently for my second application. I liquidated my fixed deposit and bought GIC. Then put the balance in my personal account. I also explained the lump sums in my SOP.

I prayed and asked God to help me. I think buying GIC and paying my full tuition was my silver lining they didn’t have any reason to say no.

Thank you to everyone that has share information on here or answered my annoying questions. I couldn’t have done it without you guys. I will do my best to help others.

Thankss. Is it ok to PM you?

22weeks 3 days!!!
Honestly, sincerely, frankly speaking, without mincing words I am seriously very tired.
The psychology Wahala no be here.
You can't afford to make medium term plans let alone long term plans.
Canada is a developed country, it's not supposed to be like this.
How can one file an application, then start waiting for 3 - 6 months, sometimes 9-12 months.
There's no justification whatsoever for this.

Waoohhh! Damn. Not coool, this one.
And as you rightly said, for a developed country, I don't seem to understand the justification for this.
Its not like these applications are paper-based or they are being manually moved around.

I studied Industrial relations & personnel management (HRM), had second class lower (2:2)

Can I go for PGD in Information Security Management?

You can get the Info Sec Management admission quite alright but hope you have career progression in this line or a way to explain the switch of careers. Because VO might flag it

Guy...Calm down... My tuition fee for a yr is just $6k

I’m assuming this is for a two-year course

Tution: $6k x 2
Living Exp: $10k x 2
Misc: $3k

Total: $35k ~ 11.550M in Naira.

The 12M plus claim is very correct if it’s for a two-year course. 12M won’t even cut it.

Good day the gurus in the house.Pls am new here an agent is asking for #300k for admission fee.Is that not too much? Pls suggest & I have bsc in admin with 2.2 & agent is telling me to take an undergraduate course pls suggest what I can do..I need your guidance pls!

300k for admission, not even VISA is outrageous.
Plus that advice to go for undergrad will only complicate your explanation when applying for VISA. Given your first degree grade, a PGD will be a better option and you can definitely apply and get it yourself.

Check the likes of Durham, Lambton and Seneca.

Good afternoon guys. Please I need urgent assistance and advice. I applied for tourist visa in March 2020 (before the lockdown) through an agent here in Nigeria, and there was no update on the application. So, I applied for study visa in July this year by myself. I have been waiting to get response from the IRCC and I just got a response today, saying there was a request from me (that’s my agent) to my bank that the application fee (my previous application) should be refunded. Now I have to provide valid point in 15 days as to why I requested for the refund and I need to pay the $185CAD. The payment isn’t the problem, but I contacted the agent and obviously, he knows about it but claimed he didn’t make the payment from his card, that someone else made the payment for him, and he’s not been able to reach the person.

Please, what do I do now?

Kindly advise me accordingly.

HELP ME PLEASE!!!

Hi Chief,

Check your mail.

@Wendyfendi,

IRCC usually frown at FTD as POF.They believe you don't have access to the funds.....not readily available.I will advise you liquidate it into your current/savings account you intend using for this application.

Remember to also attach liquidation advise/certificate of investment in your documentation and also explain in your SOP about the funds so that they won't see it as lump sum.

@ Wendyfendi

Sooo, I’m not trying to invalidate this submission but I had to do a minor research about this and here’s what I found.

It’s a dicey move to use FD but with proper explanation and documents to back it up, it should fly.

Ordinarily, I don’t think anyone should expect people to leave liquid funds - especially huge ones, just sitting in an account doing nothing when they can be accruing interest.

But as the OP rightly said, if you can wait for it to mature, do that before applying or simply liquidate the funds and back it up with explanation and documents. I used FD myself but I haven’t heard back. However, there’s some other liquid funds shown and tution deposit paid too soo… just take all of these and make the best decision for you.

All the best.
