That Gov deserves more than death. Let him rot in hell and his skin used for Satan's cloak. He's a bloody he-goat. Worst ever.... |

GEJ is just throwing his last punches, the punches of a fagged out boxer who is delaying to hit the canvas. Amaechi, is yet to pull a punch, and when he unleashes it, it's gonna be a knock out. Not even GEJ or the PDP will survive it. |

UYCO: @Chucks 01, Pls don't drag the name of Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan into the NGF problem. Uduaghans major focus now is how to give the good people of Delta State the dividends of democracy. He is neither contesting for presidency in 2015 nor going back for second term. Be aware that we the people of Delta State are solidly behind our governor and we could care less about the presidency because the only government we know that is existing is the state government Taaaaaaaaaaa! My friend shut your mouth! Who is behind who? You can only speak for yourself and not for us. That scum of a governor has not delivered a promise, let alone promises of democracy. His drainages are uncompleted and fallen, his roads are pathetic, even the one leading to the government house is in a sorry state. What the hell are you talking about? For 4 years now he's place embargo on state empluyment... What facts have you got to show he has been delivering? Just mind yourself, no make me vex oooo. |

Governor Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi of Rivers State has emerged winner in the just concluded NGF elections, drawing some bad blood and utter rejection from the other camp known to be GEJ's loyalists, who paraded Governor Jang as its candidate. How this episode pans out will be the intrigue for the next coming days, but as nairalanders, known for our vibrant fun catching style; let drop out votes for our preferred candidate. E.g, Amaechi or Jang. A M A E C H I 3 Likes |

Pedagogue: D reasons Akpabio and his 'PDP Governor's forum' have given shows how unintelligent they are!!! I saw that tossing around and was jolted to my marrows. Even Jang was nodding like a puppet from Sesame Street. Saddening! 1 Like |

I remembered seeing in the dailes the picture of the brand new BMW he bought for his mother just days before his demise. You were great. I promise to immortalise you when I have the authority and means. |

Its saddening to see Nigerians commend a gesture that is a responsibility of a man massively voted to power. GEJ is saddled with the responsibity of protecting the people both from internal and external aggression. For me he has done nothing new or extraordinary to deserve my commendation since he became president. He's not won the won against terror either by dialogue or force. I shouldn't teach him what to do. He said he knew how to tackle these problems during campaigns and I believed him. He promised to fix power, 2 years on and I still buy fuel for my generator. No improvement. The roads in my state are still bad, worse than before and he cant caution his governor(s) to sit up. No corrupt official/politician has been imprisoned for embezzlement,mal-administration and malvesation of public money, even though we hear, see and read about these scandals daily. WHAT ARE YOU ALL COMMENDING HIM FOR? It's your right to enjoy the good deeds of democracy. He's not doing any of us a favour by fighting Boko Boys. Its his job and he has to do it. In the words of Fela, "Animal can't dash me human rights." 1 Like |

I have come to know in my years of citizenship that this country is bigger than any man. GEJ has been setting up time bombs here and there and they will soon implode on him and his cronies. Leave Amaechi alone and tackle more stringent issues. 2 Likes |

It is quite glaring the North wants out of this geographical entrapment called NIGERIA. What better thing to do than call for a referendum to split. |

I remember NTA's picture quality improved when Ben Bruce was DG. Even the Logo was modified and had something like a space ring encircling the lower-cased alphabets of NTA. I thought it was cool and soon after Bruce was removed, sacked, retired or resigned (I nor know which one), they went back to the 1970s outlook. Shame! 1 Like |

The Bela Guttman Curse: Did Chelsea win the Europa League final because of legendary coach? Wednesday, May 15th, 2013 Forget Petr Cech’s fine saves, Benfica’s horrible finishing and Branislav Ivanovic’s latewinner – there may well have been another reason for Chelsea winning the Europa League. Benfica’s curse of never having won a European trophy has been placed by some at the feet of legendary coach in the years before and after the Second World War, Bela Guttman. The Jewish Hungarian footballer and coach was very much the Jose Mourinho of his time and rarely even stayed two years at a club. He managed Benfica from 1959 to 1962 and at the end of his time there allegedly put the following curse on the Portuguese giants. Via Wikipedia… After the 1962 final Guttmann approached the Benfica board of directors and asked fora pay rise, but, despite the success he had brought the club, he was turned down. On leaving Benfica he allegedly cursed the club, declaring “Not in a hundred years from now will Benfica ever win a European Cup”. Despite being finalists on seven occasions – 1963, 1965, 1968, 1983, 1988, 1990 and 2013 – Benfica have never since won any European Championship. Before the 1990 final, which was played in Vienna, where Guttmann was buried, Eusébio even prayed unsuccessfully at his grave and asked for the curse to be broken. In certain parts of the world, Bela Guttman was trending on Twitter after Branislav Ivanovic headed Chelsea to Europa League final victory over Benfica. A selection of the best Tweets on the Bela Guttman curse are below. I imagine the ghost of Bela Guttman told JohnTerry to change into his kit to collect the trophy. Clichés — Gavin Chalmers (@gavinglove) May 15, 2013 The Béla Guttman curse continues for Benfica. They gotta wait for at-least another 49 years for a European cup. — Davidę Vickÿ (@iamvickz) May 15, 2013 If only Bela Guttman had muttered somethingabout eternal world peace instead… Whats your take Nairalanders?

I chose the Celebrity section to add this topic so as to afford Nairalanders who have lost their precious Mothers to the painful, inevitable and cold hands of Death. They were indeed celebrities and they deserve our praise and admiration. It's Mother's Day and I want to tell my Mum how much I miss her. 22 years after, she's got two grand kids from me, Three from my elder sister and four from my elder brother. Too sad you aren't here with us to share in the joy of Grand Mother-hood, but we sure do appreciate the little time you spent with us, we appreciate the discipline, the grooming and principles you did instill in us. Rest in Peace Dr. Mrs. Stella Nneka Nkadi nee Egbuchiem. 1945-1991 8 Likes |

GEJ should do what he knows how to do best;set up a committee of inquiry. So that can chop money and look into the feasibility of a State of Emergency, then report to the Presidency their findings. And then set up another committee to look into the report of the former committee and advise him. After that, he will set up another committee to find out what the other former committees did not find and then he will sack the Chairmen of those committees and replace them with Ijaw men and ask them to re-constitute another committee of inquiry. Chei! I don tire to write committee...make I continue? Oya, lets go... The re-constituted committees will fall out due to accusations of embezzlement and counter accusations and GEJ will set up another committee to look into the fraudulence of the committees and report within d weeks and whil on it, another mass killing erupts in another state. Maybe Zamfara will be next. To be continued! space booked... 2 Likes |

Kenya’s Moses Masai made history as the first athlete to win the Okpekpe road race, which was held Saturday in Okpekpe, Edo State. The 10km race, which was ran on a hilly and sandy course saw Masai returning the time of 29. 39 seconds to win the 10,000 dollars first prize. He was tailed by Timothy Troitich of Uganda with 29.44 seconds while Yusuf Biwott of Kenya came third with 29.50 seconds. In the Nigerian runners category, Lawrence Osheku came first to win the N100,000 at stake, Moses Edetanien was second, while Victor Yimlang was third. They won N75, 000 and N50,000 respectively. Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State who also participated in the race alongside the Minister of Sports, Mr BolajiAbdullahi and other VIPs including top Nollywood actors came 131st with a time of 59 minutes, 3 seconds. The Governor, against the advise by organisers to compete in the VIP race which covered only 2.5km ran the wholelength of the 10,000 metres to the consternation of everyone. Speaking at the event, Mr. Abdullahi expressed delight with the outcome of the race. He thanked the government of Edo State for the wonderful work they have done in rural development. “I must commend you for the sincere energy and commitment which you havedemonstrated and also for the vision of this event. We will continue to cherish the connection you have brought between rural development and sports and that falls squarely within our mission for mass participation in sports. I will continue to argue that it is not all the time that the purpose of sports is formedals or for podium success or global excellence,” he noted. |
