Your additional posts show your hubby has anger issues and is immatured. Tip-toeing around the bedroom so you don't wake him up..........wahala.
Don't know if your hubby can get anger mgt classes if u are in Nigeria but he needs to see a counsellor. Does he have someone he looks up to and listens to? |

You should call him. I want to believe however this has been going on for some time and he waits for you to always call and apologise. If that is the case, don't indulge him. When he eventually gets home, both of you should sit to talk and work out ways to resolve your differences.A lot of men keep acting like babies rather than act the leader or head that they claim. If I may ask, whose fault was the cause of the quarrel? |

Platnum1: Could u pls elaborate on such intrinsic qualities? They are the natural properties of muscles, vessels, ligaments, etc that enhances the body's recovery and healing.Using hot water to press will have some effect though usually negligible. You have to consider that the heat also just gets to the superficial layers of the skin. The body will fall back to shape with or without the hot water pressing. |
Family › Re: Can I Perform My Omugwo Myself? by thorpido(m): 7:17am On May 08, 2015 |
Onegai: I'm in the exact situation (my mum is trying to come over but her reason is the distance and she's old). My sister did it for a month when she had her son and she advised that you contact maybe a Naija kitchen or restaurant and order food in coolers. Your hubby can be warming it rather than you cooking. Other races do it (Indians sha being their mum and an aunt and pamper the new mum) and they survived.
@Thorpido, so hot water and tying doesn't work? I thought it was effective. Some Asian races do it and swear by it. The effect is negligible,it's almost like placebo. What really matters in a woman's post-partum recovery are her intrinsic qualities. The body is able to recover with or without hot water pressing. |
Family › Re: Can I Perform My Omugwo Myself? by thorpido(m): 11:20pm On May 07, 2015 |
Platnum1: My thoughts exactly. Other races don't have to press hot water on their bellies right? And they turn out fine. Even before I got married,I have always known I will have to put my foot on the ground regarding my mum. Lol @ pressing the tummy with hot water. That action yields little if any result. It's just as good as placebo. |

Hmmm. It's sad that ladies in this generation don't know how to make the right decision when it comes to marriage. The handwriting has been there boldly written, yet you still went into the marriage.Your father-in-law is even saying they married you and you don't have that right. No be from one family you waka come?
You need to leave that house and move somewhere to be on your own.You don't need to wait for immunisation in that house, you can always get it done elsewhere. There should be a way to raise funds.I believe some Nairalanders are willing to offer help in that aspect.
I won't say your marriage is over and that you should pack it up.Give room for your husband to do the right thing. You just need to move out of your in-law's place first. |

I believe you are going to a western country where things are well set up and you could get post-natal support system where that is.The whites don't do omugwo and yet they are able to nurse their newborns.
However, you should be able to manage your mum no matter how difficult she is except you didn't grow with her.The most important issue here to me is the finances. |

The same person knelt and prayed to himself. The same person died to satisfy his own wrath. And that makes a lot of sense In your atheistic mind you can never rationalise God! |

Rilwayne001: "Although ancient traditions attributed to the Apostle John the Fourth Gospel, the Book of Revelation, and the three Epistles of John, modern scholars believe that he wrote none of them." - Harris, Stephen L. , Understanding the Bible (Palo Alto Mayfield, 1985) p. 355 Listen to yourself.Modern scholars indeed.Modern scholars are the ones in the best position to tell things their forefathers were not there to witness and again Stephen Harris you quoted was one of the disciples right? He was the one with the original message and a witness to Jesus' ministry right? |
Christianity Etc › Re: Did Jesus Really Say I Am God? by thorpido(m): 1:13pm On May 06, 2015 |
Pr0ton: First, you said, "Jesus is the spirit of God. The spirit of God is God." This is what you are saying:
Jesus = spirit of God = God
Therefore, Jesus = God
And then you said, "That was why He prayed that prayer to the Father, the One Who sent [Him]"
So tell me, how does it add up to sense to say God sent Himself and prayed to Himself, since Jesus = God = Father?
He wasn't only humble, He was one "whose mouth was found no guile". 1 Pt 2:22. Why then did He lie by refusing to be called what He was in order to show His humility?
And what happened to the third verse?
‘he continued all night in prayer to God.’(Luke 6:12) Jesus was here on the earth as man and functioned as man yet He had a divine origin. |

Rilwayne001: The rest are rubbish. Now the question for the remaining up here is: kindly provide a verse to support the bolded. Anything could be rubbish depending on how you choose to interpret it or better still your understanding of it.There are some people who believe your faith or mine is rubbish! I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death(Revelation 1:18) |

Rilwayne001: Just wondering the dude that wrote this book. Christians alleged that it was john. but in the verse 6,7/8 of this particular chapter it reads: There came a man who was sent from God; his name was John..... He himself was not the light; he came only as a witness to the light
Could john have written the bolded as well? Which John do you think wrote the book of John and which one do you think that book of Jon speaks about? That scripture was referring to John the baptist and it was written by John, a disciple of Jesus. |

tayebest: since you also convincely just quote a verse and to "approve" ur claim, you should note that tjeir are numerous verse that commend jesus devinity! Jesus was NEVER and will NEVER be God! -------------------------------------------------------------------------- More ref;"I am returning to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God. ' "John 20:17. I am a Christian and i read the whole bible.I am telling you one verse is not enough.I just quoted that to buttress a point. You chose a verse to deny and i am asking you what of the other verses that approve? @Your bolded part,i explained that.Jesus is a Spirit of God sent by The Father(the One Who sent). He however dwelt on the earth as a man and did works as a man hence His expressions sometimes in the scriptures. |

Rilwayne001: Problems and paradoxes abound. When Jesus arrived in Bethany to find that his friend Lazarus has died, he mourned: he groaned in the spirit, we are told, and he was troubled. Jesus suffered all-too-human grief, and, as it is reported in one of the most famous verses of the whole Bible, “Jesus wept.” But think that text through. Jesus wept, so Christ the anointed wept - and, therefore, are we to believe that God, the creator and source of all being, really wept? More sensationally, how, infact, had Christ suffered on the cross - had God really died? You ask these questions in the vanity of the human mind.As muslims you are quick to say Allahu Akbar which by your understanding means God is great. However you say this without the revelation of Who God really is.If indeed He is great, how come you want to question the enormity of His works. Jesus is first of all a Spirit-the Spirit of God.The quran accepts that His coming into the world was not of normal human procreation. He was born of God's Spirit(breath) in the womb of the mother Mariam. He however had to be a man physically on the earth to fulfill God's plan for mankind but at the same time He retained the divinity being born of God's Spirit. The things He did were done in the human body and that was why he had normal emotions and feelings as a human being and also explains His confessions in some scriptures. Now Jesus is in heaven, back in God(the Father's glory). Now He dwells in an inseparable God. |
Christianity Etc › Re: Did Jesus Really Say I Am God? by thorpido(m): 11:53am On May 06, 2015 |
tayebest: Jesus was never spirit but a MAN, He was God's sent, and that doesn't prove his Divinity. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Take Note; john 17:3 Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent. Yea,it's so convenient to pick just one verse and conclude.Since you quoted from the book of John, why don't you look at this: 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.2 The same was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men. 10 He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not(John 1). The Word is God and the Word was in the world(present physically). The Word also created the world. Did you see that in the bible you quoted? Can you explain what it means? |

It beats my imagination..... Is it really possible? I wouldn't use the word forget but i know a lot of parents wished their children spoke to them and saw them more often. In all honesty,i think it can be challenging if you live in a place like Lagos and your job takes a large part of your day-distance to work,e.t.c. Pr0ton: Jesus Is Not God:he fell with his face to the ground and prayed, ‘My Father’(Matthew 26:39)
Jesus spoke to a man who had called him ‘good,’ asking him, ‘Why do you call me good? No one is good except God alone.’(Luke 18:19)
‘he continued all night in prayer to God.’(Luke 6:12)
Jesus Is God:
Matthew 1:23- “Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,” which is translated, “God with us.”
John 14:9-11- Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long and yet you have not known Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; so how can you say, 'Show us the Father'?” You do not understand the bolded. @first bolded.Jesus is the Spirit of God.The Spirit of God is God.He was the 'sent' Spirit of God to the earth and took on the form of a man.He was man on the earth but still had His divinity. That was why He prayed that prayer to the Father, the One Who sent. @Second bolded.Jesus was the meekest and most humble man that ever graced the earth. His statement here was an expression of humility.Jesus is good but only expressed humility. |
