Onegai: @juzzybabe woohoo! well done mama!
For the rest of my pushing mums who can't sleep, try relaxing. Naija is a stressful place and recently I was under a massive load of it. So my gynae prescribed Lexotan (I didn't take it as I felt its risks outweighed its benefits and luckily she had a rethink and agreed with me, so I went on bedrest).
Hubby and I checked into some hotels in Lagos. The fact that we were not worrying about generator, light or no light, pump water to the tank and treat it, something has spoilt somewhere, what to cook, traffic etc was incredible. He and I slept well, I slept through the night for the first time in months. We went swimming (perfectly safe as it is a low-impact exercise and the breaztstroke really builds your back muscles particularly in 3rd trimester, don't swim freestyle and float and walk around in the water, just relax and let it lift you) and I slept even better that night.
We got back home yesterday and are already not sleeping well again (no light and our neighbours whom we share a meter with waited for us to go and enter traffic and pay the light bill rather than take the initiative). So we may head back (btw some hotels are doing promos, especially the business ones so you can get some rooms decently priced).
If regular se. x isn't possible try a massage down there with your fingers (I believe it's called ante-perineum massage ) it expands those muscles.
We don't really do ante-natal in Nigeria well, no doctor here had heard of sciatica when I had mine over a month ago (it's what causes bad pains in your legs and pelvis) and were quick to declare I was having premature contractions (common in first time preg) and prescribe bedrest, drip, sleeping pills and all sorts my sister got me a gym ball and taught me how to sit differently (especially when entering a car). @bolded.That's not true.Next time say the doctor you saw. |

ahnie: because i always get weak,i wont be able to garner my lost strenght after love making.i hav suspended Alex for almst two months now. You should still be able to manage it.You shouldn't be doing much work in lovemaking, let your husband do that. You should adopt a more passive position like side lying. Two months is too long o. How many weeks are u now? There will always be pelvic discomfort due to the baby but you should be able to manage it. |

ahnie: @doc thorpido,i normally hav these pelvic pains, and lack of interest in sex wit my husband.pls, wil it affect me during delivery? Regular sex is good in pregnancy as it helps to make delivery easier. What causes the pelvic pains? Is it the pressure from the baby? Why do you have a lack of interest in sex? |

Babyosisi I saw ur advice it was one of a kind but I couldn't mail u because d worst had already happened then.
I was pregnant n I didn't even realise maybe God wanted to punish me for being selfish though I will soon put to birth as I'm almost due, I still had ur mail in my diary n what I wanted to mail u then, my husband also saw the thread n became very unhappy.
I really appreciate your advice and your understanding, thank you very much.
By the grace of God what I'm planning to do after I put to birth is get another marketable degree which will take maybe 5 years or so outside the country and hubby has agreed to sponsor me, after that I might get a job n become independent then maybe have my life back but I don't want to be dependent of any man ever again. @ babyosisi what do you think? So you don't have your life now? |

My advise to you is that you focus here in Nigeria. It's obvious your mother can't be relied upon to make your dreams come true.If you desire a Master's degree abroad, you can still work towards it but it will cost you a lot of money like you said and that might waste your time waiting to save enough.
You can still open lines of communication with your mum if you wish but be your own man now. |

kunlap: Thanks folks for the feedback even those that are insulting. Mrbrown raised some issues:
First what did I do to let her like sex?
I have been having long discussions about sex with her before and after our wedding. I told her I like sex ooo,she quickly told me her parental values instilled on her made her disliked sex so much such that she remained a virgin because she was scared of sex not necessarily because of any religious stuff.i told her she can overcome this gradually as we progress. At first I begin to introduce her gradually and seriously it was difficult because she was practically running. Lol.i refer her to her elder sis who I called to consel her,we go online and swe read alot of discussions about sex and she gradually begin to pick up
The crux of the matter is that she has added so much weight and I am discussing with her because of her eating habit but she wont listen.she said its her body and she can do anything. She cant cook alot of food and she dnt care even when I try to discuss with her.
lastly we had our baby 5th jan,2015.since then no show. Some women just don't know how to make their homes. They think when they marry,it is finished. Why would you not want to work on your weight and won't even listen? Op,is there someone your wife listens to? |

I will agree there are misconceptions but there are deep internal problems in Islam that muslims keep pretending does not exist.See the question he was asked and see the kind of answers(or better still questions) he gave. Rather than deal with issues, muslims will rather divert attention and start speaking about events in the past. There was world war years ago but we are dealing with issues NOW.Blaming the western media, talking about the past and what others are doing or have done. The problem between Shiite and Sunni is also caused by Christians. |

gleatz: @thorpido: U asked what I meant by the church thingy: I mean he is always busy in the church with one prog or the other almost the other day, so one can even hardly have time to see him and discuss one on one. You know what,i think you should forget about the relationship.Even though i'm down with spiritual stuff, except you both attend the same church and are involved together in a lot of activities, you can't really know him. Sadly, many spirikoko people are the ones making the worst of marriages nowadays. You have to form a bond through communication and if that doesn't exist, quoting scriptures won't do it. |

brunnette4real: Finances, yes.he is a contract staff with an oil servicing firm,so he is looking at getting a permanent job or starting a bizness,he also said he is not convinced I'm his wife yet, that he needs to pray before taking that life decision. But,if he finds his wife this year, even if he doesn't have money for wedding he will pay her brideprice this year.that he really desire me for a wife but God has d final say. He has good xter and has being there for me always. I was thinking if I should call him&try to see him ,cos I don't want it to look as if I'm pushing him away or I don't care just to maintain our friendship,or should I leave him the way he is? It's a better thing to have a permanent job so maybe he is right about finances. Let him start to pray, what's holding him. Maintain your friendship with him and give him a couple of weeks to make up his mind.If after this,he is still not convinced, let him go. Like you think,he might be looking for options. |

brunnette4real: I have been a silent observer on this thread and learnt a lot. Although,I have issueS bothering me.I was in a relatinship with a guy (40yrs)for 6 months with marital plans involved,he introduced me to his family and also went with me to my church for marriage counselling, but I left him in dec.cos he had xter problems,he nags a lot, very suspicious always checking my phones, and talks anyhow like( me forcing him to marry him ,he is not convinced about marriage, and other things I can't mention here),I didn't see myself enjoying marriage with him so I left. Also, there is this guy that has been a friend to me infact like a brother, even when I was courting my ex,and he knows alll about my relationship, recently we started dating ,so I asked him who am I to him and where the relationship is leading to ,he Said I'm an intimate friend,he is not yet convinced I'm his wife,he is serious about me but I shouldn't take him serious and he wants to get married but need to sort out finances first before marriage and he prays for me to be his wife cos he loves me and see qualities in me,but if God says I'm not his so be it,and if someone that is ready to marry me comes along I should pray and make my choice. So I told him I want to stop dating him since he said I Shouldn't take him serious, so we decided to be friends like we were before ,but with reduced communication and closeness. On sunday he gave me a phone as my birthday gift and I told him I don't want it,the reason I gave him was dat I don't want to use a big phone again since my samsung galaxy just got stolen in my office and If I will use a big phone it will always be in my bag. From his facial expression I could see that he was not happy. But my real reason was that I am trying to cut off from him emotionally cos I really love him and he knows it and I don't want anything around me that will be a reminder of him.cos I decided to be single physically and @ mind,I don't want a man as an Idol in my heart which may prevent me from meeting the right man for me,but I didn't tell him all these. But,why I'm bothered is that I saw him yesterday and he acted cold towards me,avoids me and when he called yesterday to wish me happy birthday it was cold and he doesn't call me like before,I'm nt feeling bad or emotional, but I just wondered If I did the right thing,I am 29 and he is 32 This guy may want to settle but feels he may not be at the level he wants financially. You work and he works so i don't know why he may still feel limited financially.I think you should discuss with him to know what his financial goals are. Are you satisfied with his character and other things? He is trying to disconnect from you so you should expect him to be cold. You took the right decision since you want out too. It's good to move on if you don't see it working out. |
