Omobola121:
Beautiful morning to all the mothers in the house. Please mothers, I need more explanation on what is called "bloody show or mucus plug".

I was about taking my birth yesterday morning when I noticed a drop of blood on my pants, thereafter some pinkish stretchy came out too. I immediately rushed to the hospital, the Doc that attended to me inserted his fingers into my vaginal and said there is nothing to worry about that it is a sign of early labour. He asked me to go back home. Since I returned from the hospital, I have been having serious waist pain( it comes at interval though but very serious).

I don't know if I should go back to the hospital or calm down small.

I'm a new member here, I found this thread while browsing the meaning of bloody show. My name is Omobola, first time mum and I'm team March (5th of March precisely).

Madam, from what you wrote here, I suspect you're already in labour. Please go back to the hospital fast

My baby's poo today was like rock. She hates water always spits it out once she tastes it and i cant do exclusive breastfeeding as i have resumed work. So she takes Nan1 while I'm at work but once i close by 3pm, we switch back to breastmilk. Biko, how to i prevent constipation? Even the way she wails when you give her water eh, like its bitter...someone please save a worried new mum. I really dunno what to do.
My baby was like this so what I do is to make the water I'm giving her warm, not hot or cold. Then immediately she wakes up from sleep at any time, I first give the water since she's not fully conscious to reject it grin

Hello Mamas
Please I need inputs on varieties of food I can introduce my baby to. We’re still on EBF at the moment. She’s 5months plus, I want to start introducing her to different meals before 6 months so she starts getting used to eating.
Also can she start taking water or I should wait till she’s 6months?

On the other hand, she poops every 3 days which I’ve gotten used to as she’s on EBF, but for the past 6 days now she hasn’t. She just farts grin cheesy grin I’ve massaged her tommy with warm water and all, no way. I kuku let her be. Please Mamas should I be worried?
I’ll really appreciate your inputs. Thank you!!
Wait till she is six months, Ma.
A nutritionist advised me so.
Foods you can give your baby (apart from the cereals in the market) are purees-rice puree, carrot puree, banana/avocado puree, rice and apple puree. You can also give brown pap, tombrown cereal, Amala and ewedu with flaked Titus fish, mashed irish potatoes and fish, etc. You also will keep mixing her foods with milk. Those are the ones I can think of now

Graduate to size 3 already. Dunno about 4 months immunisation tho, maybe it wasn't available on that day so they scheduled you for four months

Thank you so much

Good morning moms.
I have two questions, please.

First, we had our 14 weeks immunization last month. We were given three vaccines out of the four stated on the immunization card. We took OPV, Penta3 and one other that I can't remember. We didn't take IPV, but we were given appointment for 4 months which is this Tuesday.
My question here is, do they give vaccines for 4 months because for my other kids, it was 6 months Vitamin A after the 14 weeks. Hope it was not a mistake?

Then secondly, when do we graduate to size 3 diapers? The size 2 diapers we wear just doesn't strap well but it fits a bit. [s] I don't know if what I'm typing is making sense.[/s]
We are 4 months already

Good evening moms and dads.
Please I need to know what to give to my baby. She's been passing green seedy stool frequently for the past few days. Sometimes it is stretchy too.
She's not running temperature and her feeding is still very normal.
I took her to the hospital and the nurse said she's giving signs of teething and that since there's no fever, there's nothing to worry about.
I'm still not comfortable with that. Is there anything I can do?

Hello mamas
My two months old dd has been having stuffy/ blocked nose especially at night since I came back from the hospital after delivery.
Doctor said nothing is wrong that I should continue using steam but it has not gone still.
Please I need advice.any mama with the same experience here or what to do again. It hurts to see her struggling with the blocked nose
A friend suggested this. I trust it should be of help to you.
A drop of silverbird oil on your baby's bed and probably bib should do. It worked for my daughter.

Good evening, all.
Please I'd like to know what moms here think about Pea.k baby formula, compared to Nan 1, especially if you have used the Pe.ak for your baby.
Baby girl is 3 months plus and finishes a can of Nan in 9-11 days.

Wow... Good day, beautiful moms (and dads) grin
Been a long time here sha
Thank God for all the additions and blessings here.
Team October 2020, how is the journey so far?
*wink* *wink*

So, for me, we clocked 3 months old yesterday. [Is there a dancing emoji].
Baby Grace has got no chills when it comes to eating. (I always wonder where the food goes).
And I'm having low milk supply which wasn't like that with my older two kids.
She's presently on Nan 1 (our 9th can... And yes, I am keeping the cans for our 6 months photoshoot), but I want to change the milk. I feel the quantity is not proportionate to the price (if I am making sense sef), the can is never full, and the price keeps increasing. The last can I bought was #2700 and she finishes it between 7-9 days. Someone suggested we switch to Lact. ogen. I saw it at #1800 but I don't know if it is an inferior product compared to the Nan, and if the change will affect her.
Please help me here.

This is the main reason I started this thread. Preeclampsia is scary I had it with my son @ 20 weeks, then my daughter I got it after I delivered her at 37 weeks. With this pregnant I’m constantly praying and checking Bp 2x daily. Try to lower your salt consumption and have them always check your urine fir protein. Remember if you ever get the feeling something ain’t right follow your gut and go get checked out.
Never knew anything about it until I had my third baby in October. It was so severe. I came back to life by God's grace. That's why I will keep screaming it so no one experiences it

Thanks mama. My hands are not visibly swollen...though I had to stop wearing my ring 2 months ago. Blood pressure is a little high but being closely monitored and I am on meds too.

Dear, let them monitor it well o. And adhere to whatever your doctor says. My hands were swollen and I didn't count it as anything. My feet too. Never knew I was balling with preeclampsia. I don't wish it for anybody.

Good evening mamas, I need recommendation on baby formula for my 4 months old baby. Pls mamas SMA Gold or Aptamil? Thank you in advance.
Go for what is affordable for you and easy to get around you. I would suggest SMA Gold as it is very easy to get. 6k for Aptamil last time I checked (equivalent to 3 cans of Nan.1 grin). Ayam coming
You can go for any, both are very good though

Good morning all.
Please anyone with reviews about St Ives hospital (Ikeja) or Lagoon hospital (Ikeja) for CSection delivery?
A friend had her daughters via CS at Lagoon Ikoyi in 2018 and this year. So far, their service is great.
Can't say about Lagoon Ikeja, but it should be just as good.
