I am not concerned about Obi and whatever spin he puts on the Biafran agitation to get to Aso Rock. I am concerned about two things:

1. What will happen if/when Obi loose the election to Tinubu or Atiku in 2023? With the level of e-violence from his supporters would they even be able to take defeat

2. How will Nigeria deal with a wave of mental health crisis that may ensue if /when Obi loose the election? Many misguided young people think Obi has a magic formular to make their life better. Of course he doesn't but the illusion is strong and the author is right in his assertion that they follow Obi like it's a religion.....Obi loosing 2023 election would mean thousands if not miliions of Obi believers loosing all hope in Nigeria and perhaps in the world.....
Zombiedients cannot explain what significant economic growth Obi contributed to Anambra.

Even Ngige that spent under 3yrs as Governor of Anambra achieved more.

They will be rehabilitated after the defeat sinks in.

Obi has turned out to be an excuse for even closet Biafrans to betray open emotions about Biafra without being accused of it. This includes intellectuals who did not show mercy to him while he reigned in Anambra as a pharisaic chief executive. It is like wearing a colour beneath another colour. Obi has become a shelter for both miscreants and activists of the crowd.
I keep asking, where are those Igbos who gave their candid opinion on Obi's average performance as Governor on the many topics created then on this forum?

Have they all accepted Obi because he now leads the tribal ambition of the SouthEast?

Or is their silence similar to the silence such people had for fear of their lives because of IPOB terrorists?

But that is where it stops. They have transferred the temperament of their former master into the new. And they have not spared any incoherence, any lack of finesse, and threats and tantrums, any show of rabid, primitive cants, or any ululations. They have abused, cursed, thrown imprecations. They have hugged lies about their candidate. They have pelted lies about others. They have distorted material.

Tinubu!

The only Governor whom his sworn enemies admit he was the best and acknowledge his brilliance.

The Governor who took Lagos monthly IGR from N600m to N7b in 8yrs, while his competition pretender was only able to move Anambra monthly IGR from N450m to N600m in 8yrs (despite that Ngige was able to grow from N50m to N450m in just 3years).

I will vote Tinubu whose Lagos State was the 1st public service in Nigeria to embrace TSA and ERP systems like Oracle, while his analog competition pretender was allowing contractors to cash N250m cheque in Anambra for expenditure to be done in Lagos that housed the bank headquarters, despite that he was the former Chairman of the Bank.

You might wonder what would have happened if Tinubu and Obi had reversed roles as Governor of their respective states?

Obi would have purged the state civil service of Yorubas from Ogun and Ekiti, while Nigerians from Edo, Anambra, and Akwa-Ibom would already know they are not welcomed in the state civil service. Tinubu would not have sacked Igbos from Abia and Imo.

Obi would have inherited N600m monthly IGR in Lagos and after 8yrs would have managed to grow it to only N900m (instead of Tinubu that grew it to N7b). Tinubu would have inherited N450m monthly and grown it to N5b monthly (Instead of the N700m monthly that Obi achieved).

Obi would have been at a loss on how to manage the different religions in Lagos, while Tinubu would have fostered better harmony between Catholics and Anglicans/Protestants, and other non-Christian faiths.

Obi would have written a letter to a school headboy in Lagos, while Tinubu would have allowed the headboy serve as a 1day Governor to better build his confidence and exposure to being a future leader.

I can write a full Nairaland page dissecting what would have been, but we know what became, and I am sure Anambra regrets not having a 1st class brain lead the state like Lagos was led by Tinubu.

Obi before becoming the governor of Anambra state was rated between 3 to 4 billion Naira rich. Within 8 years of Obi in power as Anambra State governor, he is rated between 4-5 billion dollars richer. He was able to convince some of the gullible Igbos that Fidelity Bank is Igbo Bank. Therefore, Anambra money should be deposited in Igbo Bank. He sited an example with the WEMA bank as Yoruba Bank where the Yorubas State government deposits their state funds. However, last time I checked, Odua Investment Company Limited has 10% share of WEMA BANK. Odua Investment Company Limited is owned by five Yoruba state government comprising of Oyo, Ogun, Ondo, Osun and Ekiti States while South east state has 0% in Fidelity bank
When we say Obi is a thief and a tribalist, you see the bolded and you wonder why people are still in doubt.

^^^Thankyou my brother!

I had and still have high hopes for Anambra and Abia, b'cos i believe if these two states get it right, it would spur on the entire region towards economic prosperity and social stability! That moro/n at Awka (that's when he's not in Abuja) has done next to nothing to position his state as the economic powerhouse of the the area formerly known as the Eastern Region; and there's absolutley no reason why Anambra or Abia shouldn't occupy such a pre-eminent position given what they have to work with! Anyone lucky enough to govern these two states should realise exactly what it is they've signed up for, and should expect to face harsh criticism if they don't measure up to expectations.......if you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen!

I've ran out of patience with Obi and Orji......and i'm this close to doing the same for Rochas as well! My mind would be fully made up concerning Imo State, if we don't start seeing solid results by early next year!

I can joke with anything but the future of Igboland, and anyone who doesn't like my position on issues and personalities can go take a hike for all i care!

Available records show that Fidelity Bank was not able to post a profitable year until Governor Peter Obi’s accession to the seat of Governor in Anambra State. Nearly one year after Governor Peter Obi became governor, Fidelity Bank posted an increase of 219 per cent profit after tax for the third quarter ended March 31, 2007. Fidelity Bank’s growth remained astronomical in the following years. In 2013, Fidelity Bank announced a profit before tax of N11.2 billion for the half year ended 30th June, 2013, representing 13.3 percent growth over N9.88 billion recorded in the corresponding period of 2012. In 2012, Fidelity Bank announced a growth of 608 percent in its profit after tax for the financial year ended December 31, 2012. Fidelity bank now occupies the sixth position in the Nigeria banking industry.
So Obi is not capable of making the right profitable decisions?

Only his departure as Bank Chairman was all that the bank needed to become a profitable venture and by employing his personal bank for state government accounts?

Truly, Peter Obi is a fig tree that cannot bear fruit.

Also a very corrupt fellow when one remembers how he also invested state funds in his family business.

During Ngige 3 years as governor of Anambra state he raised Anambra’s IGR from N50 million monthly to N450 monthly within 33 months. In 8 years of Obi in the government he raised the IGR to N600 million monthly, but unfortunately Obi’s monthly and outrageous security vote of N500 million gulped the whole IGR leaving the state with only N100 million naira for expenditure. Another question is why did Obi IGR remained static at N600 million even though more business and companies were established and more taxes were introduced by Obi.
So what did Obi achieve? Anambra truly lost with the court mandated departure of a 1st class medical doctor like Ngige. E get why companies no dey recruit 3rd class. Obi has justified such corporate decision.

Meanwhile Tinubu grew Lagos State IGR from N600m monthly to N7b.

We cannot afford to miss the opportunity that a 1st class brain like Tinubu presents us compared to an incompetent 3rd class former bank Chairman that allowed N250m cheque to be cashed in Anambra when the money was needed in Lagos that the bank headquarters is located.

You meant SDP of the Babangida democratic transition that was aborted in 1993.

The current SDP is a new party

For the current democratic era that began in 1998, Tinubu was a foundation member of Alliance for Democracy (AD).

Tinubu formed Action Congress (AC/ACN) from scratch with his faction of the splintered AD in 2006. He nurtured it untill a point in 2013 when his party and Buhari's CPC, ANPP, and Imo State APGA came together as APC.

Tinubu nurtured parties from scratch as opposed to Obi the prostitute who jumped from APGA to the then ruling party PDP. Sensing defeat in PDP presidential primaries that was just about 5days away, Obi jumped to LP to use his money to snatch the Presidential ticket of a party he never worked for.

Obi is a typical political prostitute like Atiku who jump about to parties that will give them opportunities as candidates. Once defeated, they jump again to another party.

Tinubu has been building parties from scratch and providing opportunities to other candidates for different political offices. Since leaving his last role as Governor in 2007, this is his next role he is competing for.

He has worked for the emergence of others, building lasting relationships and political careers, so others will now work for him too.

It is no coincidence that Tinubu stood his ground against OBJ over the extra local governments he wanted to create, despite the consequences of withheld LGA funds.

It is no coincidence that Tinubu stood his ground in APC and won the presidential primary, when he could have easily succumb to defeat before the primary and run like a political prostitute to SDP or Labour Party.
