That EFCC needs to be compelled to do its job, betrays the claims to its independence from presidential manipulation. Wherever there is some merit to an allegation, EFCC should do the needful without any regard to the government of the day, or to the political status of the accused. We need to purge this nation. |
LochOtieno:So it is hatred to the Igbos whenever Yorubas have a reason to be happy? |
Wow! When and where was this made? On social media? |
docadams:You fit face Oghara youths that prevented his arrest in Nigeria, before he ran out of the country only to land in UK prison? |
“Have mercy, you are a Christian, your name is Jacob,” he said.He was appealing to the emotions of religious and ethnic sycophants like FortifiedCity, but the prosecutor does not suffer from that immense idiocy. |
HungerBAD:If Ibori is not prosecuted since his return to Nigeria, then I will know that EFCC and Buhari are not yet ready to defeat corruption |
Hahahaha! A state leader was misled while leading the rest of the state? We are all in a moving vehicle without a driver. The day Obasanjo would be convicted upon prosecution for corruption, and he dares to lament about our prisons, I will remind him of his statement he made as president who had quickly forgotten about how he suffered in prison, saying that a prison is not meant to be a hotel, or something along that line. |
FortifiedCity:I just proved to you that your are irredeemably thoughtless. |
FortifiedCity:You are sick and in dire need of a cure. So you are no longer satisfied that they are being prosecuted just like many other former governors are currently being prosecuted. As far as your bigotry is concerned, convictions should be done based on federal character also? Since a Northern Christian in Taraba had been convicted recently, the next conviction irrespective of the level of prosecution, ought to have been a Muslim governor, instead of another Northern Christian even when his case had already reached its conclusion? You are possessed with idiocy |
FortifiedCity:People like you are a curse to any decent society. Saminu Turaki Sule Lamido and sons FCT chairman and son Now can the anarchy seeking OP tell us why Sule Lamido was charged to court in 2015 with his sons when he was considered a threat to the Jonathan reelection within PDP, but when he refused to contest in the PDP primary or defect to the opposition party, the case quietly died under the same Jonathan regime? Can you also tell us why Saminu Turaki who had been indicted by the court and was ordered to be arrested since 2013 during the Jonathan regime, was unable to be arrested until after Jonathan was sacked in 2015? |
FortifiedCity:I do not owe you an education when the internet is there for your education at the same cost with which you deliberately misinform the public. I hope the fire your likes daily kindle will consume you someday. Very soon you will say a core northerner who does not have a tribal mark is yet to be prosecuted. |
You claim no core Northern governor is facing corruption charges? What manner of gross ignorance is this? Can wailers ever be pleased about anything at all? What manner of miserable life is this that will make a human being continue to scheme for anarchy from morning till night? |
funnynation:In APC tradition. Lol I feel you small. |
Innoson is truly behaving like someone or an organization that could actually engage in forgery, which is the charge EFCC has brought against it in the other trial. What happened was a landmark and pioneering crime of forgery of a whole Supreme Court judgement, so what then is a minor case of forging shipping or business documents? My people say, Eefin ni wa, ko se fi pamo. It means attitude/manners is like smoke, it cannot be hidden. As for GTBank, if you eventually lose at the supreme court as you had lost at the appeal initially, kindly pay up. As for Innocent/Innoson, if you are equally found guilty of forgery in the criminal case against you by EFCC, kindly waka go jail jejely. I don't want to hear, "is it because I am Igbo?". This is purely a business case in one court, and a criminal forgery case in another court. There will be a winner and there will be a loser in both. There is no tribal case in any customary court. |
Wole Soyinka was there. I'm impressed he did not let his misgivings about the Buhari regime, becloud his appreciation of the significance of the event and the invitation extended to him. |
CilicMarin:Apart from the fact that Buhari can never be life president. Are you seriously saying you do not know that the typical anarchists would claim that those convicted are Northern minority Christians who are being persecuted? Some would even say that their trial did not begin under the Buhari regime. |
mapet:Honestly, he created a whole new false perspective for the election annulment. His imagination was more like Abiola was a Jihadist who had earlier waged a holy war called Oso Abiola against the Igbo Christian endangered specie, who planned to come again and wipe away Igbos who were living in fear of his potential presidency, so they cried out to a merciful God who touched the heart of Babangida, who then annulled the election to the happiness of Igbos. I mean, what manner of hateful and ignorant mind creates this propaganda? Someone believes at this day and age that Abiola sank a shipload of bibles because they were his own cargo, or they were on his own shipping line for which he would not be held responsible by the importers? |
Esales:Why is it that anyone who does not share the same opinions and perspective with the Igbos is a hater of the Igbos? Your fables about sinking bibles in the ocean are quite retarded in this present age. Abiola was well known as a liberal Muslim who was tolerant of all men of all faith. That you even mention Oso Abiola as a factor to why the election was annulled, only shows you don't know anything about the timeline of the history you are trying to teach others. Who feared for their lives because of Abiola? For what reason? What manner of collective cries? Cries from Igbos or who? |
MKO is receiving his due recognition to the shame of Babangida, and Obasanjo who did not want to share the spotlight of democracy with anyone else. |
If he is away, he is away. One cannot begrudge him, especially if the government did not make any effort to arrange the logistics to bring him to Abuja from wherever he may be. His confirmation of the SDP victory and commendation of the recognition given to June 12 by the Buhari government, suffices. Has anyone seen or heard from the shameless Obasanjo over this June 12 matter? Is IBB still moribund on his wheelchair and unable to step aside in his Minna hilltop mansion? |
PrecisionFx:Fighting for those who only lament on social media but are in their homes frying plantain on election day or protest day |
Mutemenot:You mean Jonathan the corrupt and clueless president? Is that not suppose to be a plus to Sowore? Did you also forget how he was revealing all that was going on with the Yar'Adua cabal that didn't want Jonathan to succeed his dying boss? |
Horlufemi:A company licensed in 1993 and began transmitting 2 years later (1995) could not have been active in 1993? Or you did not read your own evidence? Like I already said, the Channels I knew was in 1996 (very close to 1995). DBN and Clapperboard were not transmitting in 1993. And those were the first private stations that Lagosian watched from 1994. Except by some uncanny reason, Channels covered the events in 1993for their own records, having been licensed that very June 1993, so as to report it years later when they started airing in 1995. And indeed I have confirmed with the John Momoh interview of Abiola after the annulment in 1993. This confirms they were active, even if not yet airing, and explains why their name plate is on a microphone at a 1993 protest. |
robinso01:But you want to vote those who never cared to campaign for democracy, while others were in direct confrontation with the military junta, fighting for the democratic franchise you now have? Sowore has paid his dues and he has every right to gloat over what people like him helped achieve for a nation so comfortable with their oppressors. Till today, Sowore is still fighting. |
naptu2:Yes the governors were already elected as at 1991. The political violence of their supporters left blood stains all over my compound, as they were gathered in a neighbouring compound for a ward meeting that ended in violence and disarray, that saw a lot of thugs jumping fences to make their escape through adjacent plots. |
Nostalgic! Truly the "On the march again" campaign song was really an anthem among my peers then. I still remember the scenery of the debates despite not understanding much of what was said then. It seems both SDP and NRC were quite ideological as it ought to be, as opposed to the political parties we have had in the 4th republic. Abiola really did his homework about Nigeria before conceptualizing his hope 93 campaign and agenda. In Lagos, I remember the violence between the Sarumi and Agbalajobi supporters, that eventually allowed the NRC to exploit the situation that resulted in an NRC and Sir Michael Otedola victory as Governor. |
zombieHUNTER:The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has explained to the Federal High Court in Abuja how it uncovered about 19 houses allegedly bought by the immediate-past Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs. Diezani Alison-Maduke, in Nigeria, the United Kingdom and the United States of America. It is only in Nigeria that irresponsible and impoverished citizens who would not waste any time to kill and burn a fone thief, would lament that a court case involving theft of billions of Naira is media hogwash. The same people who would lament that cases are swept under the carpet, are the same ones who are irritated when court cases and its proceedings are reported for their own information. |
FFK needs a job, but Buhari has refused to give him one like Obasanjo and Jonathan did. It is high time that FFK applies for the N-Power programme, if he is too idle and unengaged. |
So the sins of the brother were visited upon the sister in both cases? The women do not have their own rights to their own body and person? The only logic to be understood in this village arrangement is that if you want to rape, don't rape someone else's sister when you have your own sister equally young for the taking. |
Mayrock:Igbo wey smoke Igbo. |
Some people say June 12 is a Yoruba affair and not a national affair that should be regarded outside the SouthWest. Yet they are already crying marginalization because they were not awarded any national honour over the same June 12. Below excerpts of the speech is what made Abiola a National Hero. But Nigeria failed him because at the sound of gun shots, the rest of Nigeria made it a Yoruba affair that it was no longer their business, despite not having democratic structures existing in their own regions too. Abiola sacrificed himself. To be precise, you gave me 58.4 per cent of the popular vote and a majority in 20 out of 30 states plus the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja. Not only that, you also enabled me to fulfil the constitutional requirement that the winner should obtain one-third of the votes in two-thirds of the states. |
Please mention them. Or the beneficiaries no get name? Was it not Adedibu and Arisekola that were championing Abacha life presidency in the SouthWest? I remember when they went to Abuja and they were singing their sycophantic song. Abacha 93, Abacha 94, Abacha 95, Abacha 96, Abacha 97, Abacha 98, Abacha 99, Abacha 2000, 3000, 4000. Thank God for Channels news in those days. Always been at the forefront of news reportage. |
