SportsRe: Why Did Benitez Bench Mikel For The World Club Cup Final by thrugemaster(op): 10:14pm On Dec 16, 2012
francisbiz: Would mikel have scored for chelsea? What had been the outcome of chelsea's mathces with mikel in, he has no fantastic assist rate. Stop being obssessed with patrotism, tht is racism. Mikel is not xavi, alonso, paul ince, gerard, song, anderson, yaya toure etc . Mikel is not fantastic.
well i am not a chelsea fan neither am i a fan of mikel, but having watched the match, chelsea's main problem was inability to convert text book chances (torres) and maybe inability of the midfield to stop the opponents attacks. That is why i asked the question on alternative starters
SportsWhy Did Benitez Bench Mikel For The World Club Cup Final by thrugemaster(op): 6:21pm On Dec 16, 2012
Why did Benitez bench Mikel for the World club cup Final? Is there any particular reason for this? Is Benitez the designer of his own misfortune?

EventsFew Facts About The Year 1999 by thrugemaster(op): 12:40am On Dec 02, 2012
Globally,
Bill Clinton was still President of the United
States and George Bush was the old guy who could not win a second term. The Twin Towers were still standing in the centre of New York. Hugo Chavez had become President of Venezuela earlier in the year. Despite a frosty 13-year relationship with the United States and health problems, he is still going strong. Spain still used the peseta. The Euro had not yet been introduced. Now, its future is very much in doubt. Rafa Nadal had not hit a ball on the ATP Tour, while Lance Armstrong had months earlier claimed the first of his seven Tour de France titles (of which he now has none). The 11th season of The Simpsons had only recently begun, with episode #230 (Treehouse of Horror X) airing in the US the night after the Madrid derby. The show is now into its 24th season, with a total of 514 episodes having been made. Pierce Brosnan was James Bond. In 1999 only 24 users per 100 inhabitants in
the developed world used the internet, according to the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). In 2012 that number is now more than 74 users per 100 inhabitants. Social networks such as Facebook and Twitter did not exist. A tweet was a high-pitched, chirping sound made by a young or small bird. iPods were not around and phones were not smart. A Blackberry was still just a fruit. The Y2K bug was a global concern. It turned out to be nothing. And everyone was talking about the millennium, even though nobody could spell it. Beyonce was the pretty one from Destiny's Child and had not yet become a global phenomenon on her own, while nobody had heard of Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta (or her stage name Lady Gaga for that matter).

In nigeria,
Nobody knew what GEJ means.
OBJ was still Uncle SEGE.
Okadigbo, Enwerem, Awoniyi, Ige, Harry-Marshall were alive.
Boko Haram was still a decade away.
GSM could mean General Service Manager.

More facts please

PoliticsWarning....N5 Note Will Soon Be Extinct by thrugemaster(op): 2:58pm On Nov 18, 2012
I have not seen the N5 note in circulation for a while. It is also to be discovered that nothing sells for N5 these days [ not even pure water] apart from sweets were you buy atleast two for N10. The question now is that whether N5 is fast becoming extinct like other denominations such as N1, 50k, and the rest which only have historical relevance? That a four year old child by 2015 may not know how the N5 note looks like except through text book.

PoliticsWhat's Your Opinion On Dr. Doyin Okupe by thrugemaster(op): 1:25am On Nov 13, 2012
I believe that dr.doyin okupe is a classic dippy,a cretinous old man, an epitome of everything that is wrong, a man that has thrown away his integrity(if he had any) to the dogs and a pathological liar(he might tell you one day that it was Goodluck Jonathan that built the third mainland bridge) among other things............What do you think?

SportsRonaldo: My Personality Has Cost Me by thrugemaster(op): 4:16am On Nov 11, 2012
Cristiano Ronaldo believes the way people perceive his personality has meant he has become disliked by
supporters. The forward is often portrayed as arrogant by
onlookers and the Portugal captain thinks his
reputation often precedes him. "I don't want to cry about it, but sometimes I think
yes," he told CNN when asked whether his image
had cost him in the past. "It's a question to which I never give the 100% right
answer, because sometimes I really don't know. I
don't think it's allowed for people to change my
personality. "Maybe sometimes, I agree that I have a bad image
on the pitch because I'm too serious." His competitive streak helped lead Los Blancos to
the Liga title last season and he admits his thirst
for success even creeps into his personal life. "If you really know me, if you are my friend and I
leave you inside my house and you share the day
with me, you will know I hate to lose," he added. "If I am in the swimming pool with my girlfriend
sometimes we like to have a race. Sometimes you have
to give her an opportunity to be happy, but I win
because I don't like to lose. "I'm a competitive man and sometimes people interpret
that in a different way, which is a pain on me
because I don't like it, but I have to live." The former Manchester United attacker also hit back
at critics who have labelled him over-confident. "People who call me arrogant, I'm interested, not
with all of them, but most of them," Ronaldo
stated. "One day I would like to sit with them and have a
chat to see in which way they think I'm arrogant,
because I think they need to sit with me to know who
the real Cristiano is.

yes. a swagger stick is a short staff carried by military officers as a symbol of authority. They were in vogue during the early post independence years of the Nigeria Army
