Kylekent59:

These pictures of yours are marvellous. Explore is one of the man I respect so much on Nairaland. His post are educative, simple, well analyse, and most important back up with pictures of different view.
Nice one.
Now I wanna comment based on what I have seen.
The Nigerian style says a lot about our country. If you observe the second pic ( The one Nigerian police men are monitoring a church) , you will find out that we are not ready in this country. The should lead and control by showing examples like wearing a mask, putting on hand gloves,..etc. It is a good thing they maintain a distance of 1 meter.
How could they carry out the monitoring without using protective materials like; hand gloves, nose mask, hand sanitizers, B bags... etc.
If one person has it in that limited space and coughs in the air, then they all are at a very big risk of contracting the virus.
Observe the other ones, like the Ghanaians. See how coordinated they are; by putting on their mask, wearing their hand gloves, and also in B bags - in the third, fourth and fifth pics to be precise
These people are more coordinated than us.
We use paint to shape a square on the ground so as to ensure social distance, but over there, they use circular foot-mats with labels - in the sixth and seventh pic compared to the 12th pic to be precise
It is now clear that an oil producing country[Nigeria] doesn't have what it take to tackle Corona virus. Our leaders have bastardized the country.
Let us learn from that supermarket : in the first pic.
We can fight this virus with the little things we have. The greatest thing we have now is our "brains "
We don't have to wait for our failed governments to come and fight it for us.
If you own a nose mask, start putting it on as from today. Forget and don't give a am about what people say.
When you pass by and they chant, '' corona corolla,'' don't mind them, but tell them you are passing a message.
Finally, I don't even want to criticise because I know the country I am in. In one of the pictures explorer uploaded, I see a hand sanitizer glued to a tree, that's very good, but I think that can't work in Nigeria - in the 15th pic to be precise
When you do such, be ready to see it stolen when you look the other way after you might have tied it to a tree.
I just hope and pray we all combat this virus and take the decision on social distance very seriously.
Good a.m to you all. anytime Explorer is dey best |

Please what about your dad? Hope he is still alive. Goodgod213: After I saw how my dad suffered to raise the two of us I and my sibling till the company he was working with went down. We started living from one aunt house to uncles houses. I have been thrown out on four occasions, accused of stealing on many occasions, starved by family, disowned by my own mother who is in the abroad sending monies to different people in Nigeria and disregarding her son because I looked like my father. At 21 I moved to ibadan, stayed with a friend, dumped by my gf, Hustled to get my cert, did my Nysc, hustled more, bought a land at ibadan, bought my first car, bought another car, moved down to Lagos, rented a apartment.
Now I have a unisex salon, a boutique, a car listed on Bolt, and Presently working on roofing my project.
It’s not been easy. Not all women are mothers. |

Nairaland General › Re: The Snake I Killed In My House This Morning by thundafire: 3:18pm On Mar 24, 2020 |
Biodun1929: Who knows the name of this snake? I killed it in my house this morning. It is very small...like the size of a long earthworm...I would say just about 10 inches long.
I stay in a 4 bedroom bungalow, and I left the living room empty, as I only use two out of the rooms in the house (I stay alone). So, this morning, I went out to buy something and as I walked in through the kitchen door and into the living room, I saw the thing staying still in the living room. (From the way it was positioned, I could tell it came in from the guest toilet). At first I thought it was dead, cos I keep a bottle with Sniper by the guest toilet. I thought maybe the thing affected it or so, and it died. I stood still myself and watched it. Next thing, I saw the head move slightly. I didn't want to leave its sight, so I grabbed a broom nearby and threw it at it. It hit it and it started struggling to move on the tiled floor and get towards the toilet...but it couldn't move well on the tile. I ran towards it and stamped it out a few times with my leg. It kept moving around. I picked up the broom and hit it on the head a couple of times till it stopped moving.
I won't lie, even though the snake was tiny I was a bit scared. After killing it, I cleaned my whole house within minutes. Lol. Thank God I don't have much in the house, so there is really no hiding place. After clearing every corner, I poured sniper in every corner and went out. I just came back, hoping to meet a dead snake or something, but I guess that snake was the only one that came in. it's a non poisonous snake and eats rats |
