“In addition, this will also lead to increased product availability and encourage investments in refineries and other parts of the downstream sector. It will also prevent diversion of petroleum products and set a stable environment for the downstream sector in Nigeria.

“We share the pains of Nigerians but, as we have constantly said, the inherited difficulties of the past and the challenges of the current times imply that we must take difficult decisions on these sorts of critical national issues,” the statement further read.

The Minister said that along with this decision, the Federal Government had in the 2016 budget made an unprecedented ‘social protection provision’ to cushion the current challenges.

He explained that the exorbitant prices being paid by Nigerians for petrol, ranging from 150 Naira to 250 Naira per litre had triggered the decision.

“We believe in the long term, that improved supply and competition will drive down prices.

“The DPR and PPPRA have been mandated to ensure strict regulatory compliance including dealing decisively with anyone involved in hoarding petroleum products,” he stressed.

January Preachers Ready to Scare and then Scam You

It is January again and gullible Christians are up and ready to be bewitched by false preachers, ecclesiastical merchandisers, gospel peddlers and stomach prophets. January and February are their peak ‘business’ season and their adverts are already out luring ignorant souls to come and buy freedom and blessing with money.

“You are cursed. Your parents were cursed. Your grandparents were cursed. Your family is cursed. Your community is cursed. Your shop is cursed. Your office is cursed and your house is cursed.”

They will misquote some passages of the Bible notably from Genesis, from Exodus, from 1st Samuel, etc, to show that curses do not just go away except by explicit intervention of God. They pounce on imprecatory Psalms and ignore Jesus’ express injunctions and promises.

Of course, they will think that you have forgotten that they said the same thing last year, and the year before and three years ago, four, five, six and seven years ago. The same thing to the same people from generally the same scripture. At that time, they prayed for you after or before calling collecting “seeds” from you. And now, they are treating you as a fresh patient, one that has never been attended to by a man of God; meanwhile they are your consultant spiritual physician.

“The reason you don't have a child or you don't have more children; you don't have a job; you are not married; you are losing your customers; many are owing you; you and your family fall sick all the time; you have not built a house; you have been left behind by your mates is because of the curse. Devil is a bad devil!” And everyone yells "Amen!"

By this time, you are already crying. You are hysterical. You are feeling hopeless. All the joys of Christmas have been replaced with January mourning. The crossover blessings for the new year have been abandoned! You have been cast into a pit. Your eyes are red with weeping.

“Who will deliver me?” you cry.

“God is here to deliver you!” the preacher booms as he goes into more specifics of your suffering. The instrumentalists swallow your cries with their production and song leaders lead in mournful and fear-inducing songs.

You are at the altar before the preacher concludes. You are weeping. He reminds you of Hannah and you weep more. Weep out a child. Weep out money. Weep out your job, marriage, promotion or other breakthroughs. Cry louder! The Blind Barthemeous cried louder till Jesus heard him. You have been weeping over these same things for a decade now. But of course, you are not thinking of the past in that term now. You are only focussed on the miracle being offered you.

Friend, if you are a believer, if you are saved, I mean, if you are born again, you have just been bewitched! You’ve been conned. You’ve been scammed. They have sold you a dummy. These false preachers are the real destiny thieves you should fear. They are the real witches they are trying to deliver you from.

You have no reason for feeling miserable. You ARE not cursed. The only background or ancestral history you have is that before ever you were born, indeed far far back to the beginning of things, GOD chose YOU and blessed YOU. Before these preachers were born God had already blessed you and secured it in heaven in Christ Jesus.

No one can curse anyone God has blessed. No one can place a curse on a living child of the living God. You are blessed. You were chosen before you even knew Jesus. You were forgiven all your sins. You are part of the God’s family.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath BLESSED us with ALL spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: According as he hath chosen us in him BEFORE THE FOUNDATION OF THE WORLD, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: Having PREDESTINATED us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will” (Ephesians 1:3-5)

Don't sow nothing in order to be delivered! After all, you are not in bondage. If you are in the mood for giving, give a thanksgiving offering. Dance, don't stagger. Sing, don’t sigh. Smile, don't squeeze your face. Be happy. You are BLESSED. You were blessed from the foundation of the world. Your blessing is secured IN THE HEAVENLY PLACES in CHRIST JESUS. In the heaven and inside Christ Jesus. Who is it that goes there, pries open God’s hand and steals your blessing? Who is he that condemns when God has justified. Who can be against you when God is with and for you? Who will separate you from the love of Christ?

Please don't shame your FATHER by letting these hirelings confuse, scare and exploit you. Let your January prayers and fasting be done with joy, in faith and for lost souls and for the will and glory of God to be manifested in your life. In prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your request be made known to God.
