DrKlever: I'm watching a replay of Kosovo vs England on SS7. This Kosovo team is so poor that i think Nigeria can beat them 6-0 sef.. So much for the hyped European teams! The funniest thing about this European underdog teams is that they don't respect themselves, so they come all out against you, thereby leaving spaces everywhere for you to exploit and the spanking becomes easy. That is why you see scorelines like 6-0, 7-0, 5-0. At least our own African underdogs knows that they are the underdogs, so they pack the bus against you like say tomorrow no dey |

Eartquake1: The thing is you cannot use the friendly game against Brazil to rate Aina above Collins as Aina has made some mistakes against Cameroon (despite his improvement)
Collins would probably have bagged one or two assists against Lesotho You guys be talking about Cameroon. Aina only made one mistake. Not some Mistakes His only mistake was the one that one that led to Cameroon second goal. So make una stop twisting it. Collins in the other hand . Oh my |

Eartquake1: Aina was also sleeping for Algeria's equalizer against us in the Afcon qualifiers and he conceded a stupid penalty in the last friendly before the World cup and don't think Jesus doesn't have the quality to overturn Aina
Collins and Aina are not far apart but Aina trumps him offensively Oga shift biko. We are talking about post world cup, you are bringing World cup qualifiers. It's an open secret that Aina of that period was not good then. It was one of the reasons why Brian Idowu was brought in before the world cup and took his position in the world cup squad after that one impressed in the Argentina friendly. Nigga has now improved tremendously since going to seria A. |

somehow: Yes he was overturned, check the Cameroon game
So are you saying Rohr was sentimental or stupid enough to bench a good player for a not so good one?
The same him that went to shop for Colins while Aina was already in camp and playing that position?
Wait till we play worthy opponents, then we will know if he's now betteroff as the LB compared to Colins that the coach prefer I'm sure that was the only instance you could mention (Cameroon match), which can happen once in a while. Even the best defenders gets turned once in a while Collins on the other hand gets turned on the regular by even the most average of wingers. Against Brazil , I just dey shame on behalf of the guy. At a point, the Brazilian team noticed that he's the weak point and Firmino and Gabriel Jesus started making use of his wings. Even a makeshift Awaziem doesn't get turned on a regular like Collins. Nigga is pathetic. |

Typically, the English are not known for producing flair players but this is an obvious exception. Rashford's got skill, I won't lie. He's different from the regular traditional kick and run wingers that England usually produce. His inconsistencies is what is letting him down. play like Ronaldo today, switch off tomorropw |

BascoVanVeli: U and I both know that they are only keeping his spot warm. Rohr will never bench an healthy Etebo that;s just facts, The way y'all think that Collins will start in the afternoon, because according to you guys he's a sure banker to start as long as Rohr is coach. Even Etebo won't say this. I'm sure he Knows that he now has work to do. This is not the era of local coaches where senior team players just stroll into start line ups , even though there are better performing and deserving players. This time around, you are as good as your current form, and no more guaranteed spots. Rohr has shown us this time and time again |

Aribo and azeez should make way for etebo , as per say etebo na sergio busquets or iniesta ?
They have done better than him so far this season, he should fight back for his spot, nothing automatic here bros Can you imagine the guy. As if Etebo Na Xavi or Iniesta |

TheSuperNerd: For those who keeps asking what kinda Midfielder is Azeez... I hope you all saw the quick and easy way he picked out that pass into the path of Victor Osimhen....
Drove forward into space, really made use of that space and released the ball as quickly as possible without my flamboyance and viola! Goal!
That is part of what Ramon offers. Keeping it simple and feeding his advanced team mates quickly. He also offers mad workrate as you all know and must have noticed from his games in LA LIGA. Someone like Etebo would have continued running with the ball until the space closes where he won't be able to give any pass, thereby giving a side wways pass and the chance will be wasted in the process. The day the Nigga stops hugging the ball unnecessarily is the day he will develop into a better CMF |

zayyadidris: But should Etebo comes back, I guess both Aribo and Ramon will make way for him..!! Because am not seeing Rohr starting either of them ahead of Iwobi. Well Rohr might be a lot of things, but he's not a sentimental coach. Those two have done enough to earn that spot. it's left for Etebo to fight for the position and show the coach that he's still the undisputed No. 1 in that role. If Rohr uses seniority in the team or sentiment in match day team selection, he woulf have started Musa today, and Mikel would have played every match during AFCON |

somehow: So if you have players like Udeze, Taiwo or Babayaro, you will play Aina at LB ahead of them?
Secondly, those names you listed above are playing these roles because the natural LBs are either inexperience or not good enough. First paragraph, that comparison doesn't make sense because those guys you mentioned are obviously better and if we have people like them in our team, we won't be playing Aina on the left because they are obviously better than Aina. At the bolded, It's Same thing happening in the super eagles team. So shift lemme see front |
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by timay(m): 7:42pm On Nov 17, 2019 |
somehow: We are saying this because we are yet to get an above-average LB (Not like Colins is bad). I am the kind that likes square pegs in square holes.
Crossing is part of our siggy, just that we haven't had much of them good crossers for a while now but they are getting better. Spoiler alert. Most right footed player that plays left back are mostly good with both feets. Ashley Young of Man Utd is an example. He played left back for England in the last world cup and he did well. There is a young left back from Man Utd academy that was promoted recently, Brandon Williams, he's right footed too and can make good crosses with both his feet. It's even an advantage sef, cos most defenders won't know if you want to cross or cut in, because u are two footed. Lastly Aina has played generally more on the left than on the right for the past two years now, so I'm sure he would have adapted. |

tbaba1234: Many Nigerian Journalists want to see Rohr fired. Some of these journalists are paid by agents to promote this. They want to return us back to the era where they can settle the coach to invite a player.
This year has shown us what happens when we abandon merit.
Our local coaches have shown that they are incapable of avoiding the lure of $$$ for the chance at glory.
Now, Pinnick is trying to introduce a local league quota into Rohr's new contract compelling him to pick players in the local league. What exactly does this achieve? Why do we love to promote mediocrity?
Where are all the local players promoted by Keshi?? Unfortunately, this idea of getting local players into the super eagles is for selfish interests. They just want to sell players, simple.. It does nothing for the league. The real steps needed to improve the league are not been taken.
I hope they will not destroy the super eagles too. For the sake of the super eagles, I sincerely hope that Rohr turn down that yeye contract, so that the NFF will be forced to give the man what he wants and remove some useless clauses that will only benefit the pocket of NFF stakeholders instead of the good of the team, by the time Nigerians lights their ass on fire |

My God, I'm angry tonight. Football isn't 2+2 You think its easy to comeback against a professional bus parking team that got to Afcon quarter finals by bus parking via playing draws in all their matches? More so , Zambia that they beat is more or less a Glorified Eswatini with that their understrength team. All their best players are presently in Egypt trying to qualify for Olympics.
