Politics › Re: The Seven Solitudes Of President Buhari - Professor Pius Adesanmi by TIMEISWISDOM(m): 2:43pm On Aug 26, 2015 |
Kieldgreat: If President Buhari truly loves Nigeria, he must be prepared for huge sacrifices, including the possibility of forfeiture of a second term - if a second term was ever on the cards for him.
This first term must be a fight to finish between him and corruption. It is a fight in which there has to be a victor (Nigeria) and a vanquished (Nigeria). There can be no fence sitting here. No middle ground. The only possible outcome is the victory of Nigeria over corruption.
If Buhari fights corruption the way we expect him to fight it, the only option left for corruption will be to rue the unintended consequences of allowing him to become President in the first place and to spend billions to prevent him from getting a second term.
President Buhari has started well. The first real casualty of his anti-corruption war is Sambo Dasuki. He has now been charged with illegal possession of weapons. I expect more charges, including illegal possession of yams. I expect this particular goat to go to prison. This would be a huge symbolic and psychological win for Nigeria.
In essence, President Buhari has started this business in his own ethnic, religious, cultural, class, and geo-political bedroom. Sambo Dasuki is from the top of the shelf in the Caliphate. Now, listen up and listen good, you Yoruba, Igbo, Ijaw, Idoma, and Edo irridentist: when the war reaches your bedroom and consumes your own goats, do not dredge up your predictable ethnicist alibis to protect your goats and scream persecution o. Ehen. We shall enter the same trouser with you and remind you that Buhari started this in his ethnic bedroom. Hey, listen up, you fundamentalist Christian: when the war begins to consume your goats, don't bother to mobilize your religious bullcrap in defense of your own Christian goats o. Ehen. We shall remind you that Buhari and Sambo Dasuki are both Moslems.
Having checked the ethnic and religious boxes on the anti-corruption war front by making sure that Sambo Dasuki is no sacred cow, Buhari must consolidate the legitimacy of this war by seeing the unbelievable opportunity that the battle of the pigs in Lagos presents.
The political party box also needs to be checked in the anti-corruption war so that we are sure that no goat in APC is more equal than the goats in PDP. The dramatis personae in the battle of the pigs in Lagos are all the President's party men. If I know Nigeria very well, the Ambode who today is exposing Fashola's yams is already eating his own yams and farming out yams to his own cronies and the Godfather he shares with Fashola. Tha is hwo Nigeria rolls.
I say amen to the open season of yansh opening in Lagos. I expect the full weight of the law to land on Fashola's back. The EFCC should be investigating the revelations by now. I am particularly angry that he spent more on renovating the residence of the Chief Justice of the state than he spent on building secondary school classroom blocks in one instance. It goes to show our perverse priorities in that country. And we thought that Ganduje in Kano and the mad guy in Adamawa were the worst advertisements we have in the priorities department!
Anyway, Fashola cannot be investigated and prosecuted in isolation. He, in turn, must spill the beans over the yam eating propensities of the administration before him. The unraveling in Lagos is presenting an opportunity to clean up that morass completely. If the anti-corruption war can consume Sambo Dasuki, it sure well can consume Fashola and Tinubu.
Pox on anybody's supporters and whatever reasons they may mobilize to support their own goats!
Ambode currently has immunity. We will have to wait till 2019 to find out the yams he is already eating with one hand while exposing Fashola's yams with another hand. When we do, he too is toast.
Nobody - absolutely nobody - should be above investigation and prosecution.
If Buhari allows the anti-corruption war to clean up Lagos before moving to Adamawa to see what the mad men up there are up to, he would have started a war in which a big fish in his ethnic and religious family was consumed; a war in which a ginormous fish in his political party was consumed (Tinubu); a war in which one of Nigeria's best advertisements for governance in recent years (Fashola) was consumed.
If these things happen, let me see the baba nla of anybody who would come out to declare President Jonathan and his architecture of corruption untouchable. Let me see any yeye peace committee that would dare disturb the peace of the country on Jonathan's account any further.
Buhari would have secured so much popular support for the war that Halliburton and Siemens would no longer be off limits...
Once and if we do get to Halliburton, it means that an obstreperous somebody could return from Guinea Bissau to teach his cellmates in Kirikiri Portuguese. If we can dream it, it can happen.
But if you allow your anti-corruption war to prosecute Sambo Dasuki and his ilk, Tinubu and his ilk, Obasanjo and his ilk, you must brace up for the possibility of only one term for when it comes to deadly class interest in the top 1% of Nigerian society, there is no ethnicity, there is no religion, there is no political party. There is just one happy, united, and indivisible happy family. This family will declare you a mistake they allowed to happen to Aso Rock and will do everything to correct the error in 2019.
The only force capable of stopping them is the poverty-stricken 99% below. But in their poverty, they are Hausa, Yoruba, Igbo, Ijaw, Igbira, Tiv, Idoma; in their hopelessness, they are Moslems and Christians, too ignorant to understand that those divisions don't exist in the class above their heads.
If you go after these Godfathers, the 99% will not have your back. They will have the back of those who divide them to eat their yams.
You will be lonely and alone.
But you must fight this anti-corruption war. It must consume every yam eater irrespective of status or party affiliation. Many of those who sponsored you to power will have to be consumed by the war.
But you must do it.
For Nigeria.
For posterity.
For you.
I wish you the solitude of the righteous warrior.

Politics › Re: Former Military Administrator Of Kaduna To Replace Lamorde As Efcc Boss by TIMEISWISDOM(m): 10:20am On Aug 26, 2015 |
Inception: FORMER military administrator of Kaduna State Colonel Hamid Ibrahim Alli is being touted as the next chairman of the Economic and Financial crimes Commission (EFCC) after current chairman, Ibrahim Lamorde was implicated in a N1Trn fraud sources in the All Progressives Congress (APC) have revealed
Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ibrahim Lamorde, will on Wednesday appear before the Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions over an allegation that he criminally diverted over N1 trillion recovered from corrupt individuals and groups by the anti-graft agency
The fraud allegedly perpetrated by Larmode was said to have dated back to his days as the Director of Operations of the EFCC between 2003 and 2007, as well as an acting Chairman of the commission between June 2007 and May 2008, when the then chairman of the anti-graft agency, Nuhu Ribadu, was away for a course at the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru, Jos.
Col Alli, 60, who is originally from, Kano State, was the Kaduna State military governor between August 1996 and August 1998 during the Sani Abacha regime. Currently the chief of staff to President Muhammadu Buhari, Col Alli later became the secretary of the Arewa Consultative Forum after retiring from the Nigerian Army.
Blue-blooded, Col Alli was a die-hard IBB boy who is reputed to have said he would follow General Ibrahim Babangida to war blindfolded. However, after Babangida annulled the June 12 1993 elections, they fell out, with him telling his principal that he was wrong, pointing out that Abiola should be sworn-in as president even if he was the devil. Rumour has it that Col Alli would have been executed by General Abacha if not for the fact that he was blue-blood. He left the army and government unceremoniously without money or scandal and according to reports, he is into poultry farming and still drives a 504 Peugeot saloon car.
Apparently, Colonel Ali is currently undergoing State Security Service screening in preparation for his appointment.According to insiders, immediately there were feelers that he will emerge the next EFCC chairman, corrupt politicians went into panic, with some of them returning stolen funds.
President Buhari has made the fight against corruption the centrepiece of his policies and as such, whoever he appoints as EFCC chairman will be a key figure in his government. Whoever is EFCC chairman will be responsible for recovering the billions of missing dollars said to have disappeared from Nigeria’s oil earnings.

Jonathan wasn't the best but he gave people who had the knowledge the opportunity to serve but unfortunately the few Judas's in his cabinet gave some very unpatriotic Nigerians the opportunity to rubbish his government and whatever achievement it had using propaganda.
Anyway Jonathan is bygone and am eager to see the result of this present government's ( to me archaic) approach towards reducing corruption and I ask Nigerians to give them reasonable support. |

Politics › Re: Why I’m Fighting To Stop Wike’s Probe Of My Administration — Amaechi by TIMEISWISDOM(m): 6:42pm On Aug 23, 2015 |
what hypocrisy simseg01: The immediate past governor of Rivers State, Chibuike Amaechi, has again explained why he is opposed to and wants to stop the Judicial Commission of Inquiry set up by his successor, Nyesom Wike to probe some selected government transactions, while he (Mr. Amaechi) was governor. In a statement released by the former governor’s media office Sunday, Mr. Amaechi said he’s not afraid of a fair and decent probe or investigation or inquiry of his administration; and would cooperate and support such probe or investigation or inquiry in as much as it’s done within the ambit of our laws. The statement continues: “However what Wike has set out to do is anything but a fair probe. [b]The commission will not be fair to Amaechi because it was set up to indict him. Wike had repeatedly held that Amaechi, the person to be investigated, acted illegally in the disbursement of public funds and that Amaechi ran a corrupt government. Clearly, Wike has prejudged the matter and showed his bias that Amaechi is guilty even before investigations. This means Wike, with his prejudiced, made up mind has taken a position of a guilty verdict even before the outcome is known or established.[\b] “The same Wike who had adjudged the yet-to-be-investigated conduct of Amaechi as illegal and Amaechi as corrupt, is the same person that has gone ahead to set up a commission of inquiry and will have the final say on the findings of the commission. What a sham!” “This bias and predetermined agenda to indict Amaechi is obvious even in the terms of reference of the commission. In one of the defective terms of reference, Wike said the Commission should investigate the circumstances that led to the ‘sale of the state Hotel Olympia’. “With a fair and decent probe, the Inquiry should have been ‘to examine (or investigate) the transaction concerning Hotel Olympia’. The difference is so clear: In the former, jaundiced Wike’s Term of Reference, it has been prejudiced and concluded that the Hotel was sold, while in the latter, the Inquiry is open and fair, and may lead to a finding of a sale or a lease or even a gift or even a pledge. “Now, having so concluded that Hotel Olympia was sold, would Wike be decent and humble enough to reverse himself if documents showed it was never sold but concessioned or leased? “This is one of the dangers of Wike’s commission that harbours a predetermined outcome in the name of an Inquiry and Amaechi will not subject himself to Wike’s deceit and phony shenanigans. Hotel Olympia was never sold. The hotel was only concessioned (or leased) on the approval of the State Executive Council and not sold.” “Even while inaugurating his yeoman commission of Inquiry, Wike could not conceal his vendetta agenda. He was clear to the panel members that their job is to indict Amaechi. And to do this his dirty hack job, he got Justice G. O. Omereji (the commission chairman), a man who is well known to harbour a long-held, extreme anger, hatred and animosity against former Governor Amaechi. And Justice Omereji has never disguised this his stance and disposition towards Amaechi. “As a matter of fact, Justice Omereji even advised a former Nigerian Bar Association(NBA) chairman in Rivers State on measures (to take) against then Governor Amaechi. He had expressed his hatred for Amaechi several times to the NBA chairman who was also an Attorney-General of Rivers State. How can we now expect Justice Omereji to be fair to Amaechi, the person he passionately loathes with extreme malice and venom?” “Anyone who has been following events in Rivers State knows this Wike probe is just a fraudulent sham, a deceptive mission to indict Amaechi. Wike’s one-point agenda is to go after his predecessor. Immediately Wike took over, he made a show and gave a performance of his false accusations that Amaechi stripped the Governor’s Lodge bare, saying that the former governor stole spoons, plates, knives, cups, mattresses, forks and even curtains from the Governor’s Lodge! “However, in the images Wike showed to back his lies, the curtains in the lodge were clearly there, seen and intact. Again, Wike claimed he met a completely empty treasury. That again is another big lie and grand deception. “This Wike’s probe is dead on arrival. It’s ill-conceived and ill-motivated. Wike’s probe is designed to twist and distort, or even completely alter selected legitimate government transactions in his desperation to cook up, and fabricate sham cases of corruption against Amaechi. “Finally, Amaechi will continue to use every constitutional and legal means available to protect his name and image from this massive smear campaign, State-sponsored onslaught against him by Wike led government whose sole agenda is a desperate search for a Rotimi Amaechi political downfall.” http://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/top-news/188852-why-im-fighting-to-stop-wikes-probe-of-my-administration-amaechi.html So judging from the bolded assertion, whatever investigation APC makes will be biased too since they already concluded that Gej's government is corrupt courtesy of Adams oshomole who happens to be part of the committee responsible for the investigation |
