scana042: my fellow Nairalanders let us keep focus. i am sick and tired of people telling Us what we hv always known, OBJ did this, IBB did that. kalu that is talking also had the opportunity to write his name with Gold in Abia as the state Governor what did he do. most of the 1999 Governors were not just ripe for leadership at-least we can see it from the last administration that lost the election. lets us also ask Orji Kalu hw he made his money to be able to donate 500million and $1million to PDP by 1999. KALU just like OBJ HAS NO MORAL GROUND TO TELL US ABOUT STEALING PUBLIC FUNDS because THEY ARE ALL IN THE SAME BOAT simple. Kalu was already a billionaire business man before he joined politics |

SomebodyLovesMe: FFK and Fayose are welcome to their opinion, but they could not have been said to speak on behalf of their tribe,.and you would notice that their words / actions were condemned by many Yorubas, because their intentions were perceived to be insincere.
This is not about one Igbo man. It is about the fact that through their words and actions, the majority of Igbos have demonstrated that tribe comes before principle or fairness, so much so that they would gladly support someone who almost completely destroyed the nation. You didn't answer my first question? Majority of the Igbo voted Jonathan because he showed them a sense of belonging unlike previous presidents and don't forget that almost half of southwest voted Jonathan and most who didn't vote him was because they felt he marginalized southwest not because Buhari was better in anyway . Listen, it is in this same Nigeria that Obj ruled for eight years and won majority in southwest during his second term. Face the fact, Majority of Nigerians still lack the capacity to make informed decision on who to vote if not someone with Buhari's antecedents would never win a popular vote. |

RitzyPrince: Lacking any noteworthy natural resources, Singapore's early prosperity was based on a vigorous free trade policy, put in place in 1819 when Sir Stamford Raffles first established it as a British trading post. Later, mass industrialization bolstered the economy, and today the state boasts the world's second busiest port after Rotterdam, minimal unemployment, and a super efficient infrastructure. Almost the entire population lives in upscale new apartments, and the average per capita income is over US$12,000. Singapore is a clean, safe place to visit, its amenities are second to none and its public places are smoke-free and hygienic. if you (Igbo's) think you have all the stated in place to succeed like the Singaporeans then ur hallucinating. WAKE UP, the IGBO'S have nothing!!! Yes fews years ago we had nothing because our Fellow countrymen destroyed our land, seized our properties and gave us $20 but today they are afraid of domination from the same people. Is either those ethnic groups are just backwards or Igbos are too ingénue. |

SomebodyLovesMe: While I agree that this is a very sensitive issue, it must be said that Igbo people are constantly shooting themselves in the foot. They do not tell themselves the truth. You seem reasonable enough, but most other Igbos don't.
I watched in amazement in the months leading up to the last elections, how Igbos openly showed and boasted about their 'mass' lack of support for Buhari. They are the only tribe in Nigeria that made so much noise and made it clear that their decision at the polls would be based purely on tribe. How many Yorubas or Hausas did you hear boasting or making threats? Wisdom should tell you that since there is a chance that Buhari might win, you should not burn bridges. You would notice that Hausas never openly opposed GEJ, even though we all know where their loyalties lay.
Unfortunately, most (not all) Igbos are not politically sophisticated. Political sophistication means ensuring that you do not create permanent enemies for yourselves, by being tactful and strategic in your political moves and utterances. e.g. how can you go to another man's land and claim that it's no man's land? That is the height of political stupidity, as such comments simply attract negative reactions and negative attention. I can't think of any other tribe in Nigeria that would be so unwise as to say such things.
There is a quote that says: In politics, there are no permanent friends or enemies , but there are permanent interests. Unfortunately, Igbos have created permanent enemies for themselves through their lack of diplomacy, and that is why things are the way they are. Please answer me honestly. Before 2015 had Buhari's disposition towards issues of national concern being nationalistic or tribalistic Was FFK or Fayose Igbo and tell me an Igbo man than made louder noise than them. |

The Niger Delta U term Small Have Achieved What You Igbo's Might Never/Will Never Achieve Till Eternity....this is just a clear case of the adage; those the god's wants to kill they first make mad I don't know who's brain washing You Igbo's to Fhink you People Can survive alone as a country.... what do the IGBO'S have what does Singapore have? yet they have the highest concentration of billionaires in the world |

You should take the case to court and prove with strong evidence.Did the website achieve what it was meant to achieve? Honestly, many of you guys feel Fashola should be crucified for doing his best in Lagos and as a tax payer in this state if users of the, website claimed it helped them in reaching the government I don't know why that should be a headache to anyone. Even if there was the mistake of cost, it doesn't make the governor culpable. We were all aware of the Boko Haram negotiation scam, would you wholly blame GEJ, common, lets be realistic. If Panadol cannot cure your BRF headache, please seek redress in court. Your points are not along with the threads. This thread is not for discussing Jonathan but an appeal to APC to take steps aimed at improving democracy and not the other way round. Note Jonathan is not the first leader to lose an election on seat but his reaction to it, is why he is mentioned as an example |

He would have been sent out of office. Let's be fair here. jega himself said he wasn't under pressure from Jonathan and you think your inference is more truth than that? |
