PoliticsRe: ADC Dismisses David Mark’s Leadership Claims, Affirms Nafiu As Authentic Chair by TimeManager(op): 7:15pm On Aug 08, 2025
One week one trouble for party hijackers. I predict they will soon run away to another platform as ADC is getting hotter on a daily. No wonder, Atiku, Obi, Elrufai are foot dragging on registering as a full member one month after hijacking the party.

PoliticsADC Dismisses David Mark’s Leadership Claims, Affirms Nafiu As Authentic Chair by TimeManager(op): 7:12pm On Aug 08, 2025
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has dismissed what it described as baseless claims to its leadership by former Senate President David Mark and his allies, emphasizing that such moves are in violation of the party’s constitution.

This follows the recent resignation of Chief Ralph Nwosu as National Chairman, which the party says has initiated a structured constitutional process for appointing a new leader, rather than opening the door to opportunistic power grabs.

In a statement issued by Dr. Aminu Sani Alhassan, Special Assistant (Public Affairs) to the Interim National Chairman, the ADC reiterated that only verified members of the party are eligible to contest for leadership roles.

He stated: “In light of the resignation of Chief Ralph Nwosu, it has come to our attention that certain individuals, notably David Mark and his associates, have attempted to assert claims of leadership that are not only unfounded but also contrary to the principles and constitution of our party.

“First and foremost, it is essential to clarify that the resignation of Chief Ralph Nwosu did not create a free-for-all scenario within the ADC. Instead, it has opened a necessary dialogue regarding the future of our leadership, a dialogue that must be conducted within the framework established by our party’s constitution.

“The ADC’s constitution is unequivocal in stipulating that any individual seeking to assume a leadership role must first be a bona fide member of the party. This fundamental requirement cannot be overlooked or circumvented by any means.

“In accordance with the ADC’s constitution, the appropriate procedure for filling the leadership vacuum left by Chief Nwosu’s departure is through a National Executive Council (NEC) meeting.”

Reaffirming the party’s stance, the ADC declared Alhaji Nafiu as its recognized National Chairman and urged party members to remain unified and composed during the ongoing transition.

Alhassan also underscored the party’s faith in the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to safeguard constitutional procedures and democratic standards in political party affairs.

He added, “This meeting will serve as the legitimate forum for deliberating on the way forward and will be followed by ratification at subsequent levels of party convention. It is here that we will ensure that our party’s leadership is determined by those who are genuinely committed to the ideals and objectives of the ADC.

“We would like to emphasize that there is no provision in the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) regulations, the Federal Constitution, or the ADC’s constitution that permits an individual to assume leadership without fulfilling the requisite criteria of membership and democratic process.

“The actions being taken by David Mark and his cohort are not only a misinterpretation of our party’s governance structure but also a blatant disregard for the democratic principles that the ADC stands for.

“To our loyal and dedicated members, we urge you to remain calm and focused during this time of transition. The progress we have made as a party is a testament to the hard work and commitment of our genuine members.

“We must not allow ourselves to be distracted or disheartened by the antics of those who seek to disrupt our unity and progress. The ADC is a party built on the foundations of integrity, accountability, and democratic values, and we must collectively uphold these principles.

“As we navigate this period, we also wish to reaffirm our confidence in the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). We trust in its commitment to upholding constitutionalism and ensuring that the democratic processes within political parties are respected and adhered to. The ADC remains dedicated to collaborating with INEC to foster a political environment that is conducive to fair play and democratic engagement.

“In conclusion, we stand firmly behind Alhaji Nafiu as the legitimate National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress. His leadership will be instrumental in guiding our party through this transitional phase, and we are confident that he will uphold the values that our members hold dear. We call on all genuine members of the ADC to rally behind Alhaji Nafiu and to work collectively towards the betterment of our party and the communities we serve.”

How can people both home and abroad, locals and foreigners call you Lamba yet you keep justifying the tag and keep churning out fake figures and statistics?. Little wonder, people doubt you so much so they hardly believe anything that comes out of your mouth any longer. PoliticsFake News: Omojuwa Clashes With Peter Obi Over Out-of-school Figures by TimeManager(op):
A heated controversy has erupted on X over the state of Nigeria’s education sector, with prominent commentator JJ. Omojuwa accusing former presidential candidate Peter Obi of spreading misleading information about a supposed "crisis of great magnitude."

Obi’s post on August 7, citing the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) boss, claimed over 20 million children are out of school and that recent WAEC results marked the worst performance in five years.

However, Omojuwa’s rebuttal, quoting UBEC Executive Secretary Aisha Garba, exposes these assertions as exaggerated or outdated.

Omojuwa, in a sharply worded post on Thursday, August 7, 2025, declared the narrative "Fake NEWS!" and cited Garba’s statement:

“Our administration is not just talking change, we are executing it by transforming basic education, one reform at a time.”

Garba detailed reforms unlocking state grants, impacting 3 million children, distributing 6 million textbooks, and deploying 740 smart boards. She added, “This is not just reform, this is a new era of access, inclusion, and impact.” This directly contradicts Obi’s portrayal of a stagnant, failing system.

PoliticsDozens Killed As NAF Airstrikes Hit Bandits Wedding In Zamfara by TimeManager(op): 5:26pm On Aug 07, 2025
The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has reportedly bombarded a gathering of suspected bandits during a wedding ceremony at Asaula Hills in Tsafe LGA of Zamfara.

Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency publication focused on the Lake Chad region, said the airstrike was carried out at about 4pm on Tuesday.

Citing sources, Makama said dozens of suspected bandits had converged on the Asaula Hills in Yankuzo ward for a mass wedding when the air component of Operation Fansar Yan Bindiga, sector 2 command, launched a precision strike.

“At exactly 1444 hours, field reports confirmed the presence of a large number of heavily armed bandits, some on over 100 motorcycles, at the location,” Makama quoted one of the sources as saying.

“In response, a fighter jet was deployed to engage the target. The strike was executed around 1600 hours and caught the criminals off guard.”

The publication said the event brought together fighters from multiple enclaves, including the Faskari and Kankara LGAs of Katsina state.

According to Makama, at least 10 bodies were reportedly recovered from the site as of Tuesday evening, while others were said to have been burnt beyond recognition.

Local informants said no fewer than 33 injured bandits were receiving treatment at a health centre in Yankuzo and in nearby hamlets.

“Dozens were neutralised instantly, while many others sustained serious injuries. The survivors were seen evacuating the wounded to Yankuzo village for treatment,” Makama quoted another source as saying.

“Some of the injured are being secretly treated by unqualified health workers. It is recommended that ground troops carry out mop-up operations at the site and suspected recovery points.”

Operation Fansar Yan Bindiga, launched earlier this year, is a joint military offensive targeting terrorist enclaves, logistics hubs, and command centres across Zamfara, Katsina, Kebbi, and Sokoto states.

PoliticsLere Olayinka Reacts As ADC Submits Minutes Of 99th NEC Meeting To INEC by TimeManager(op): 6:27pm On Aug 06, 2025
Lere Olayinka, media aide to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has responded critically to a recent move by the African Democratic Congress (ADC) involving a letter submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The letter, dated July 29, 2025, and received by INEC on August 1, 2025, was sent to confirm the submission of minutes from the ADC’s 99th National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting.

Olayinka’s response, shared via his social media account, centered on the ongoing leadership controversy within the ADC.

He described the situation as chaotic and confusing, questioning the legitimacy of those submitting documents on behalf of the party.

While INEC still recognizes Chief Ralph Nwosu as the official National Chairman of the party, another faction claims to have appointed former Senate President David Mark as interim chairman during the 99th NEC meeting.

This same faction reportedly submitted the minutes to INEC, sparking confusion over which leadership structure is valid.

Olayinka criticized what he described as attempts to bypass due process by individuals who are not officially acknowledged by the electoral body.

He implied that the ADC’s internal disarray, driven by factional power struggles, is undermining the party’s credibility.

He also urged close scrutiny of the document, particularly regarding who is recognized in the minutes as the party’s national chairman.

According to him, only leadership ratified by INEC holds legal weight, and any parallel claims only add to what he sarcastically termed “kolision konfusion.”

2. Mbah is blackmailed Into APC to escape corruption prosecution.

3. He had to join APC to ensure his second term.

4. The election is between APC and Nigerians

5. Mbah has only one vote.

PoliticsDefection Rumour: We Will Follow Mbah’s Political Decision – Enugu Leaders by TimeManager(op): 7:37pm On Aug 05, 2025
Amid rumoured planned defection of Governor Peter Mbah to the All Progressives Congress, APC, some political leaders in the state have declared that they would align with any decision taken by the governor.

The leaders, across political divides, professional backgrounds, and community, spoke under the aegis of Enugu State Patriots on Sunday.

This comes a day after some members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the state said they would remain in the party even if Mbah defects.

However, the Patriots, in a communique issued after their meeting in Enugu on Sunday, said Mbah was their own political party.

The communique entitled “Peter Mbah is Our Party,” was presented by Prof. Mathine Anikwe.

They said despite being in different political parties, both President Bola Tinubu and his vice, Kashim Shettima had both attested to Mbah’s prowess.

The group, while acknowledging Enugu State and South East’s longstanding relationship with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) since 1998, however, said that “the people of Enugu State were more interested in Mbah’s vision to grow the state’s economy from $4.4 billion to $30 billion in eight, which is on course, than in political affiliations.

“During this period, the region and Ndi Enugu have given the PDP their total support and have equally derived some benefits from the party in terms of development projects and political opportunities.

“Nevertheless, we make bold to say that with Governor Peter Mbah’s exceptional performance, he has become a viable political party of his own.
“He is the political party we know and wherever he leads, Ndi Enugu will follow.

“Therefore, there is no doubt that his second term as Governor of Enugu State is sacrosanct, by God’s grace, in order to continue with the great job, he is doing,” they stated.

They also said that the state’s zoning arrangement was also an advantage to him.

“Besides his superlative performance so far, his second tenure is further assured by the well-entrenched zoning arrangement in Enugu State that ensures that power rotates from one zone to the other every eight years.

“This arrangement produced Chimaroke Nnamani from Enugu East Senatorial Zone (1999 to 2007), Sullivan Chime from Enugu West (2007 to 2015), and Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi from Enugu North (2015 to 2023), thus setting the stage for Enugu East’s return to the Lion Building through Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah in 2023,” the communique stressed.

Other speakers at the event include a former National Youth Leader and National Secretary of the PDP, Rt. Hon. Sunday Udeh-Okoye; the traditional ruler of Ogboli Ohaja Autonomous community in Awgu LGA, Igwe Kingsley Okeke;

Others are, former Commissioner for Transport, Enugu State, Engr. Luke Mmamel; member representing Ezeagu State Constituency, Hon. Chima Obieze; Council Chairman of Nsukka LGA, Engr. Jude Asogwa; former member of Enugu State House of Assembly, Hon. Nkechi Omeje-Ogbu and former Chairman of Nkanu West LGA, Hon. Henrich Okenwa

Lere Olayinka, Special Adviser on Media to former Rivers State Governor and current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has reacted following the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) official recognition of Chief Ralph Nwosu as the National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and Julius Abure as the Chairman of the Labour Party (LP).

Olayinka made the disclosure on his official X (formerly Twitter) handle, where he shared INEC’s latest update on the leadership status of both parties. The move comes after months of internal wrangling and legal tussles that have caused confusion within both political platforms.

Reacting, he said; ADC and Labour Party EXCO as recognized by INEC as at today.

According to INEC’s official release, Chief Ralph Nwosu remains the National Chairman of the ADC, a position he has held for years amidst criticisms and factional disputes. Similarly, Julius Abure was reaffirmed as the duly recognized National Chairman of the Labour Party, based on recent court rulings that cleared up the legitimacy of his leadership.

INEC also named Alhaji Said Baba Abdullahi as the ADC’s National Secretary, while Alhaji Umar Farouk Ibrahim was recognized as the Labour Party’s National Secretary.
