So you have been sitting at home, itching to hit the road and make some money to take care of bills, booze and all that money can buy, but no vehicle to hit the road with. BRB

Every fleet manager has to think above the norms to bring out ideas that is feasible, achieveable and sustainable. We don't just sit down and talk the talk, we also walk the work. New innovations, new agreement or as we say it WE are changing the narrative.

BRB - I Don come back, so you need a ride, Great, cus we have been cooking something.

Let's Change the narrative ... its sweet ooo (for fleet management and the investor) grin
You no mention stakeholders drivers.

The problem I have with airbag fix is that by the time you find out the fix wasn't effective, it's likely injuries would have been sustained or life might have been lost. It's a 'no testing' work; so to say.

We ve more pressing issues, than continue arguing who makes more, Driver and Partners.
If the only point you see in my posts is about income, then I'll advice you read again with an open mind.

suco01:
The more reason you should know that the driver from your example is a stakeholder compared to a private driver or company driver to the smallest of repairing a punctured tire he goes direct to the boss or assigned person to give cash because it is not a business. Wait until the partners decide to take care of the total running cost of the vehicle to the smallest, then you will be able to differentiate between khaki and leather how it will be in a business since you want to claim employer
No, because a driver's responsibility is increased for his sake in order to minimize downtime of vehicle and driver so as to help him achieve the amount he should pay weekly doesn't turn him to a stakeholder. The driver's expenses are on consumables.
One of the values fleet management companies can add is to be more involved in vehicle running and maintenance than the vehicle owner can. Therefore taking some stress off driver and giving vehicle owner assurance of a well maintained vehicle to ensure consistent income.

No employee in the world spends their money in the running a business. All employees give their time and skill and get paid in return.

By the time someone begins to spend their money for a business, they are no longer an employee but a stake holder.

Drivers in the e-hailing business are not employees of car owners, they are stake holders. So no single person is doing the other a favor, they are both adding value collectively.

You asked if mtn is paying employees 50% of their profit... Let me also ask you if an employee in mtn will use his money to buy Diesel into mtn generator?

If you want uber driver to be an employee, then pay for fuel and all other running costs, after which you now pay the driver a fixed salary. I think Ogunvic fleet company has a model that runs like that.

So don't get it twisted
You say stakeholders? How much can they earn from the sale of their stake?
Everyone at least spends on transportation to and from work or meals while at work. Uber drivers walk to their employer's car and get to work, they are allowed to take over the vehicle running cost because it will be easier for them that way than to wait for car owner to come do that for them. They are expected to be able to take initiative and hence the responsibility of fueling and keeping vehicle clean is considered when the remittance is worked, or would you rather a driver was going to collect money for fuel and car wash from owner on a daily basis and paying more than the current average weekly remittance?

Not at the risk of the lives of other road users and another man's investment.

I am sharing this experience not because I did everything right, considering Nigerians dubious tendency we shouldn't have left any stone unturn.
But I am sharing this because I know they work on people psychology and because it is a big company it is easier to become their victim. Like I stated I am sharing this experience to alert other people interested in patronizing this people.
2 weeks after we sold to them. A man called dh, ( I dont know how he got his number) he had just bought the same car from cars45 and he was calling to ask questions, because just a day after buying. The car issue seems unending. He told us he paid 1.4.
So me sharing this experience is benevolence so others will learn. Please shine your eyes!!!!
Argh! They must have given him the 2011 year of manufacture report they gave to you.
Did you actually sell the car for 650k?
Tell him to slip several notes into the car, undersea, fuse box, sunguard and the likes... Then sell back to cars45 so next buyer too can have an heads up if lucky to check any of those places while inspecting.

A driver that will work 24 hours will work 24 hours whether he is paying 10k a week or 70k a week. Same way i worked with all my partners beacuase i had a target, same way i still work now beacause i stikl have targets, i need to own some keke marwas ( sorry kia rio). A lazy driver will give excuses even if he is one 15k a week.
How many partners did you have before getting your own car?
Would you say the ROI of each car owner at the end of your deal with them was equal to or greater than amount invested?
Total remittance + value of car after use = cost price of car+miscellaneous expenses to put on the e-hailing platform.

Hello guys, pls I am here to ask this question and I need honest opinions.

I am planning to get my first car this week and I can't find sleep.

Reason is I am unable to decide on the car I want.

I have thoughts for Honda accord 05 (eod) i4 or 06 DC i4.

The question is which one is the best option to run uber with and what is the relative difference btw their v6 types in terms of fuel consumption and maintenance?

Thank you all for the lessons learnt on here over time.

God bless all our handwork.
I'm answering cos I know you in person. Please don't buy any Accord, get a 1.8l or lesser engine car. Honda City or Kia Rio or Toyota Corolla at most.

Driving a car 15 hours everyday is different from working in an office 9 - 5. Never compare d two. Ur 1.8m Corolla is not worth more than my life. If there’s life, there’s hope
Lets be realistic sir.
Sadly sir, a man isn't in the position to determine what his life is worth, it's his closest relations that will do that. Expressible in the amount they can raise to save his life if in a terminal condition (inclusive of what he has saved up without seeking external help). You never hear Forbes adding what someone still hopes to make when stating his or her net-worth.
I'll choose working for someone from 9-5 in an office over driving someone's car for 15hours daily, for the same income, I consider it more dignify in. Heck the office job will require and higher qualification, skill set and or work experience than the Uber driver job requires. Might even come with an official car and driver as perks of the job.
By the way, It's the car that gets comprehensive insurance, the driver doesn't get life insurance.

nitigriti:
I disagree with the premise(s)
What part?
Please state your argument.

bily:
There are lots of drivers on the platform driving their own cars. Some even started with driving their cars, then they got more cars and also engaged drivers. So stop talking like buying a car is rocket science, same way drivers should not feel like driving is rocket science.
I am yet to see one driver on this thread who started by driving another person's car and was able to save up enough to buy his own car or complete payment on hire purchase.
This to me means the heart of the business is actually the car. That's why whoever owns the car has the highest chance of making the most amount of money and eventually expanding.
Buying a car isn't rocket science, but without a car a driver has nothing to do and vice versa.
But note, it's a taxi hailing platform, not a driver hailing platform. The driver is there because the taxi needs a driver, self driving cars will kick drivers out of business.

BusinessRe: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by timifakay(m): 8:40pm On Feb 25, 2018
I am neither a car owner nor driver on any e-hailing platform and have no intentions of being either.
All this driver must have take home that's greater than what he remits to car owner or fleet manager is greed.
How many people here who work for companies/organizations (whether big or small) can confidently say their monthly income is greater than 50% of what they make for their employers?
The only reason people are thinking and coming out to say the driver should earn more money than car owner is because he has total access all resources in the business.
In every situation I know or have heard of, investor/ employer/business owner makes more money than any employee.
Every driver that wants to take the same amount of money home with car owner is directly setting himself up for failure because that means he has to make atleast three times the amount he remits; with each third going into car running/maintenance, car owner ROI and driver income.
Example: Weekly delivery of 25k, shared maintenance or repair clause and driver wants to earn atleast 25k too means.
Weekly remit =25k
Car running/ maintenance contribution= 25k
Driver take home =25k+X
Total = 75k+X
After 3 months max one of car or driver or both will be unavailable for a greater part of a week and driver won't be able to meet up for with that week's payment and this will be commencement of problem because owner thinks his remit his small and he shouldn't have any complain, driver will think owner is inconsiderate due to his sense of entitlement which in the first place led him to believe he should earn more than car owner.
Driver will eventually suffer greatest loss because he will lose car - source of income, which will lead him to signing a worse contract on next offer.
Vehicle owner still has his car, in a worst case scenerio of car total loss he gets compensation, if driver dies he may still be the one to get claim for driver's life and pass whatever he wants on to driver's family.

Any driver who thinks the value on his life his greater than the cost price of vehicle invested by car owner should claim he has terminal disease or was kidnapped for his family members and see how much they will raise within a week if it is more than the cost of the car take it and go and buy car, then become a driver partner. If not, be humble and contented with a reasonable amount that you can easily replicate monthly.

I am not jollof, I can't make everyone happy.

You need at least 100 hours on the road a week to hit the 100k target.

About 14-15 hours on the road for 7 days.
Nature will always take its toll on driver
Failure will take its toll on machine.
You can't run a car designed for private use like that consistently for a month without an hitch from either man or machine.

Fuel to accomplish 100k weekly if corolla is less than 25k(3x7-21k), 9mobile 1200 for 1.5 gig.. aboki charge 2500 for car wash monthly.

Your family is your personal problem, the owner wont say because you have a large family then dont want to make income. or better still if you have a large family dont drive uber, go and apply for Chevron work.

@ the end of the week, after personal expense, the minimum you are going home with weekly is 20k, sometimes it could be more.
And about how many hours on the road daily will it take to achieve?
