Health › Re: Cholera Outbreak Kills 20 In Bauchi by TimmyTen(m):
Yes! Tell that next person beside you about CHOLERA,its no news its killing lots of children/peolpe in Nigeria and other developing/under developed countries..

Cholera is a disease caused by bacteria that produce a watery diarrhea that can rapidly lead to dehydration

Syptoms:
Cholera infection is often mild or without symptoms, but can sometimes be severe. Approximately one in 20 (5%) infected persons will have severe disease characterized by profuse watery diarrhea, vomiting, and legcramps. In these people, rapid loss of body fluids leads to dehydration and shock. Without treatment, death can occur within hours.
Cholera symptoms and signs include a rapid onset of copious, smelly diarrhea that resembles rice water and may lead to signs ofdehydration (for example, vomiting, wrinkled skin, low blood pressure, dry mouth, rapid heart rate).

How long does it takes for the syptoms to appear:
It can take anywhere from a few hours to 5 days for symptoms to appear after infection. Symptoms typically appear in 2-3 days.

How is cholera transmitted:
Cholera is most frequently transmitted by water sources contaminated with the causative bacteriumVibrio cholerae, although contaminated foods, especially raw shellfish, may also transmit the cholera-causing bacteria.
Human-human transmission is uncommon.

Who is at more risk of cholera:
Some individuals are at higher risk to become infected than others. People who are malnourished or immune-compromised are more likely to get the disease. Children ages 2-4 seem more susceptible than older children, according to some investigators. In addition, researchers have noted that patients with blood type O are twice more likely to develop cholera than others. The reason for this blood type susceptibility is not completely understood. Peoplewith achlorhydria (reduced acid secretion in the stomach) and people taking medicines to reduce stomach acid (H2 blockers and others) are also more likely to develop cholera because stomach acid kills many types of bacteria, includingV. cholerae.

Prevention:
Drink and brush teeth only with water that has been boiled or treated with chlorine or iodine tablets. Safedrinks include coffee and tea made with boiling water or carbonated bottled water and carbonated soft drinks.Cook it. Eat only thoroughly cooked foods, and eat them while they are still hot. Avoid eating food from street vendors. Eat only fruit or nuts with a thick intact skin or shell that is removed immediately before eating. Do not eat raw foods such as oysters or ceviche. Avoid salads and raw vegetables. Do not use untreated ice cubes in otherwise safe drinks.Stay out of it. Do not swim or fish in polluted water. An an emphasis, important preventive measures at the community level include provision of adequate portablewater, provision for the safe disposal of human feces and good food hygiene.

Treatment:
The main treatment for cholera is fluid and electrolyte replacement, both oral and IV. Antibiotics usually are used in severe infections in which dehydration has occurred. The prognosis of cholera ranges from excellent to poor. Rapid treatment with fluid andelectrolytesresult in better outcomes while people with other health problems beside cholera or those who are not rapidly replenished with fluid treatments tend to have a poorer prognosis.Cholera can be prevented with appropriate measures such as safedrinking water and noncontaminated foods; some protection can be obtained from oral vaccines while avoiding areas where cholera commonly occurs or has had a recent outbreak.

Cholera, is a recurent epidemic in Nigeria! ;
24,519 cholera cases and 484 deaths have been reported in 17 countries in West and Central Africa in 2013 -- 64 per cent less than last year..
-.There has been a 100 per cent increase in the number of reported cholera cases in Nigeria in October as compared to September.*.The current hotspots are: (1) Nigeria, (2) Guinea Bissau, (3) DRC, (4) Guinea and Sierra Leone (5) Togo and Benin – ranked in order of importance.

Jobs/Vacancies › Re: Answers To Most Often Asked Job Interview Questions by TimmyTen(m):
A friend said “There is no rule to interview questions” Just be confident and know your onion. If you have good knowledge on your field and it is backed with good experience. You don't need to convince any interviewer with grammar. Just tell them your value and they will chase after you.

This is so not true. Good experience and knowledge will only help with 30 or 40 percent of the interview. And if that is all you are relying on your interview will be a disaster.
An interview is a sales pitch from you to the prospective employer.
You have to prepare and do research because a lot of questions are not about experience.
They test other things sometimes very abstract.
You need to plan, prepare,practise.
I have attended several interviews n scaled through So I can tell you first hand what the reality is.
Foreign Affairs › Re: Ghana’s President, Nana Akufo-Addo Sleeps At Africa Financing Summit In France by TimmyTen(m):
If we consider the rule of individual African leaders, they became worse as they grew older. Mugabe, for example, did well until old age caught up with him. As you remain in power for long, you convince/deceive yourself that due to your old age you know better than others. That's when you are less likely to embrace diverse opinions.

The presidency is a job, not a career. Unfortunately, our leaders have made it a career, and a private business for that matter.

An individual's skills particularly speed, agility, strength, and coordination decay over time and prolonged job boredom and lack of intellectual stimulation and forgetfulness all contribute to reduced productivity.

It would enlighten us to be aware of the various categories of kidnapping cartels at work in Nigeria. We know that kidnappers require victims under below categories

1. The first end-use of kidnap victims is as unwilling donors of human spare-parts that are traded amongst Nigeria's vast underground network of Juju/Voodoo practitioners.

2. The second category of kidnappers open up their victims to extract vital organs, such as hearts, lungs, kidneys, eye-corneas and bone marrow, that fetch top dollar in the shadowy underworld of fresh-frozen human organs air-freighted globally in beer coolers for medical transplant into living hospital patients on waiting lists.

3. The third category of kidnapper prefers their clients alive and in one physical piece, with the expectation that cash ransoms paid by wealthy relatives would exceed the spare-parts value of such captives. Randsom kidnappers do, on occasion, go ahead and part out their victims for retail human organ sales, even after ransoms have been paid, thus maximizing profit from two income streams.

4. Kidnapping for the sex trade is the fourth and final subsidiary of the Nigerian abduction industry, and, like the kidnapping for ransom trade, requires captives to be kept alive.

Kindappers in the house, please let us hear some of your insider summations about this emergent new enterprise on the Nigerian economic landscape.

You might know the person well already, and therefore dating might become stagnant or dull. A relationship at work may also risk jealousy since you continuously see the other person talking with other men or women in the office. Also, you risk losing your job cos not all working environments are romance-friendly

How’s the UK going to determine the election riggers? Is it the people the government say are riggers or those they determine are election riggers?

Start with visa ban on Nigerian politicians responsible for the countrys woes.

A ban will hurt them as their kids study in Europe and it’s their prime destination for holiday & medicals.
