I don't want to start imagining how bad it's been for you. It's really a twisted situation.

This is my resolve on it, if you're bold enough to stomach what would/ might result from the confrontation-A can of worms..then by all means go ahead to confront your mum and relieve yourself of the burden.

If on the other hand you are not ready to hear some shocking news that might come up.Then let it slide and try as much as possible to purge yourself of the thoughts and memories.

It is well.

@ op,funny movie .What's the title?it's been long I watched a nollywood movie cheesy

To answer your question ,I would laugh then ask her to repeat it in front of my hubby when he returns.
Reason being that,a girl with that level of education wouldn't be able to connect " love making" to sex hence I would "assume" she's talking about something else.

More so what maid of that nature would be bold enough to tell her madam she slept with her husband?

With the likes of whatsapp and viber, I don't see bbm going far on these devices .it might trend for a while but it won't last long.

mathskill:
You are the one who is shallow in your thinking. The dead baby was as a result of prostitution and not early marriage. In fact the issue she got from her marriage is fine, sound and healthy. Tell me was the baby found in University of Ibadan toilet some months back from a child marriage? in fact the mother is educated yet she chose to dump new born baby. You just come up to such forums with a myopic and prejudiced mind to write incomprehensible things. Why can't you raise your voice to the booming business of baby factories in the south east.
This is the reply to your insensitive comment and if your head cannot comprehend this, then I give up!

Okija_juju:

1. This girl was married off to a man at the age of 9. So none of you judgemental peoples here have any idea the kind of trauma that this girl has gone through in her 20year life. WHile most of you were still carrying your hello Kitty school bags and lunch packs, this girl was being viciously fvcked every night by an uncircumcised Pig lover..

2. AT 20, this girl has been a mother twice, Divorced and now has to engage in prostitution to fend for herself and her family. Meanwhile, most of you girls here have barely slept with up to 4 men in your 25 year old lives. Try and imagine yourself in her shoes before you get super judgemental.

3. Post-Partum depression or some sort of mental disorder is yet another factor to consider here. Shes a new mother in a village were new prostitute mothers are frowned upon. Imagine how much she makes from whoring first? then imagine how she would cater for tis child and her other responsibilities.. I'm sorry, but as much as what she did was bad.. I'm gonna say I understand.

Please lets all cool down the way we judge people o!! Some of you wuld kill yourselves if Life takes you from where you are now and throws you head first into the lives that people like her have to live with everyday..[/b]

God bless you Okija!

Health / Re: Why You Must Not Drink Water While Eating. by Tinkybabe(f): 2:56pm On Sep 16, 2013
Hmm . interesting fact!

But Op water does not actually dilute with the enzymes. It dilutes with the surrounding environment of the enzymes resulting in a shift from the ph(optimum) the enzymes work best at. This then invariably reduces(not cease) enzymatic activities.

Thanks for sharing though
Health / Re: Beyond Malaria, mosquito Can Cause Dengue Fever by Tinkybabe(f): 2:25pm On Sep 16, 2013
Thanks for the info OP
The symptoms of Dengue highlighted though are the same as malaria symptoms so how can one be certain it isn't malaria?

Especially given the fact that many Nigerians treat malaria through self medication, there's only a slim chance of them going to the hospital for diagnosis.
Health / Re: What. Could Be The Cause!!!!! by Tinkybabe(f): 2:18pm On Sep 16, 2013
Did you have something to eat before hitting the gym?
Your blood glucose level could be low which could have resulted in what you experienced.
Get something to eat and get some rest to allow your body regain its maximum functionality.
Sorry.

That's the least one should do as a friend .Would you rather in your attempt to appear a good friend expose them to more embarrassing situations?

Una good morning o!
So woke up today feeling young..hahaha..like a child(I know I'm not old yet cheesy grin)
Then remembered my poem on childhood and decided to post it here..

How many people can relate to this..I know many people here are parents but a travel down memory lane can burst out that "Childlike" feeling tongue tongue

Tinkybabe: CHILDHOOD

The way we run helter skelter
when we hear rain splatter
Searching for a place of shelter
With feet making pitty patter

On our lips were a thousand questions
We wanted answered without hesitation
with full spirit of inquisition
Asking for proverb interpretation

For demand of sweet and candy
We had an ally in daddy
That ofcourse is when he comes in handy
Otherwise mummy remained our best buddy

With stomach full and round
We play naked in the compound
Jumping with peers on playground
Oblivious of adults around

Our first day at school
I remember was not at all cool
As our tears and drools
Could well fill a pool

Who could blame we little ones
Who left our mother not for once
Despite how father warns
Our clinginess'd make us a dunce

With much fun and even more food
Everything looked and felt so good
As I recall those days of happy mood
I can't help but miss my childhood
Family / Re: Are You Feeling Suicidal? Come Here First! (part 2) by Tinkybabe(f): 8:46am On Sep 16, 2013
duffie:

I'm almost graduating from a health science course, but I want to go back and stuudy business management...

I was offered the course andd I just took it because I wanted to just be in school getting admission in nigeria is quite difficult....

I never thought about my long-term goals...

Right now, I've got to go back and re-write my waec and jamb and people think I'm crazy..

Duffie!I can relate with what you're facing now.Though the path is slightly different but I found myself in similar shoes..What I will say to you;pay no mind to the people talking. At the end of the day ,it's your life and only you would experience the joy and fulfillment or pain and regrets if you keep listening to what people have to say.

Let me share my story with you to explain what I mean

I had started uni in fact almost completed year one when I relocated to the UK..I had to go back to college to do my A-levels when I got to England.Completed college after 2yrs then my mum dropped the bombshell.

I would not be going to uni that year as I had to be in the country three years before the commencement of my tertiary education.I cried my eyes out cause as at this time,my mates-ones I finished secondary school with had already graduated from uni or were in their penultimate year.

I was not a dull student,oh I was very far from dull therefore saw no reason why I had to have such a setback(that's what I saw it as then) in my academic life.

I had plans for me and had gauged my life that at a certain age I would be done with uni. I was so sad and whenever I spoke with friends back home, some were quick to remind me of this..questions like "so where are you now?You should have just stayed back in Nigeria to complete your degree"

Anyway, I braced myself up(thanks to some good people around me too)-started ignoring the talkers, applied to uni and deferred, made good use of my gap year..Chose a course I really like and wanted as I had matured and knew what I wanted.

Right now!got 2 more years to complete my mpharm degree and smile to the haterz or those that thought I made a mistake going down this path.

May I say also that I'm sure I would have been sad if I had finished from what I was doing in Nigeria cause to be honest I never really liked it.

So my dear,it's really down to you!your decision to make and do not allow anyone, not even your parents to stand in the way of what would give you fulfillment.

All the best.
Family / Re: My Corp Member Niece Gave Her Brand new Car As Seed Of Faith In Her Church by Tinkybabe(f): 11:50pm On Sep 15, 2013
This thread reminds of the nollywood movie "highway to the grave"

When an herbalist(in this case)told Jide Kosoko to vacate his apartment and properties as they were demon possessed. He did and started living in a thatched house, walking on foot when, one day he saw the herbalist driving his(kosoko's) car.He accosted him and demanded an explanation.
The herbalist replied "demons have possessed this car" as he drove past him..very funny movie cheesy cheesy cheesy grin grin

OP o jare, did your cousin get a discrete instruction from God to do that or did she just purpose to do that(maybe vowed to God to give her first car as a seed offering)?

If yes( as long as she wasn't brainwashed and takes full responsibility for her action) my own no plenty- stop taking paracetamol for another man's headache!
Family / Re: Girl Kills Her 4-day-Old Son For Prostitution In Katsina by Tinkybabe(f): 11:15pm On Sep 15, 2013
Why are we viewing the matter superficially?
The alleged reason for murdering the child erupted from an underlying issue-child marriage!
This is what happens when some parents have no cognisance about the ills of releasing their little girls to some sexually depraved, insensitive and beastly men in the name of marriage .
This girl was bundled into a man's house at nine!9 years old!!!

I'm not absolving the girl of any blame. The girl is no doubt guilty of mother murder and must dance to the tune of justice, she and her accomplice of a friend must face full wrath of the law.

No matter how we view the matter though, early or child marriage must have been one of the confounding factors that instigated this act.

RIP baby.
