If there's something that should not be contested with Nigerians, especially we yorubas
It's owambe parties.

Nothing is more annoying than those who go out of their way, borrow money and land themselves in huge debts just to maintain the 'owambe 'status quo.

sandyylove: Most times when you end up having a complaint, they direct you back to these Ts & Cs to show it was stated there. Its good to at least scroll through and give it a glance on your way down especially from mid way down.
So true!
I once had an issue like that. Called customer services and started threatening fire and brimstone.Needless to say I ate my words and even had to apologise when I was shown the conditions written in black prints in the T&C.

Family / Re: Love Marriage And Arranged Marriage by Tinkybabe(f): 3:34pm On Sep 22, 2013
I can't believe this is up for debate.

where is the freedom of choice in an arranged marriage?

It's bad enough that relationships where the parties involved choose their spouse themselves are barely successful.how much more ones that a person is forced to enter?

I see arranged marriages as imprisonment. .and attributing the success of such relationships to the arrangement is the greatest fallacy of all time.

Only a pinch of these marriages work out in reality. The majority perceived to be successful are really not.
The victims of such only live with the fate life, tradition or maybe families have dealt them which clearly is suffering and smiling.

Does a prisoner have a choice?
Religion / Re: Christians- Do You Follow Your Pastors Teachings? by Tinkybabe(f): 11:43am On Sep 22, 2013
I follow what's written in the bible.
The bible says
" His word is a light unto our feet and a lamp unto our path"

Given that my pastor relays what's in the bible with no iota of contradiction or confusion. .then I'm safe to say my pastor's teachings further buttresses the word of God.

NYSC / Re: Graduate Sues NYSC Over Non-mobilisation by Tinkybabe(f): 11:33am On Sep 22, 2013
The NYSC officials that denied this guy's mobilisation are very silly.

A guy voluntarily wants to serve his country, he's met all the requirements-the so called 5credits they claimed he didn't have have been remedied with his overseas qualification(GCSEs) so what exactly is their argument?

If the presiding judge isn't going to be biased and provided what the guy stated is true then the case should go in his favour and he should be compensated as appropriate.

Brimmie: And i wonder the kind of people that patronises them!
PATRONISE.

That's a good move by the state government. People in a bid to get a cure or treatment for their ailment worsen it by patronising these people.

What can I say? Effect of poverty! ! This is because these hawkers offer these medicines at a cheaper price compared with pharmacies so people readily purchase them not minding that they're fake.
Politics / Re: How Do You Plan On Celebrating Independence Day by Tinkybabe(f): 10:43am On Sep 22, 2013
Vilicious: I swear to nigeria my country
to be faithful, loyal milk and honest
to serve nigeria is not by force
to defend our amnesty

Your quote just made me realise I haven't recited the pledge in ages..I mean AGES.
Let's see if I still remember

I pledge to Nigeria my country
To be faithful, loyal and honest
To serve Nigeria with all my strength
To defend her unity
And uphold her honour and glory
So help me God..

I think I did well.

If only the people we call leaders and the citizens of the country at large can be true to this pledge.
May God help us!

Happy independence to all Nigerians in advance.

Romance / Re: How do one keep relationship without much spending. by Tinkybabe(f): 9:32pm On Sep 21, 2013
It's possible and I want to assume you're talking based on how much you have in your pocket and not because you're tight- fisted.

It rea
lly starts from the woman you are with..What's her belief about relationships, is she materialistic, greedy or never contented. .?
What type of company does she keep?
Is she dependent on you or she's got something going for herself?

There are many ways to show love without spending too much.

If you're a success driven guy who isn't stingy and you know the woman you are with ( provided she's none of the aforementioned-negatively connoted)everything should fall into place.
As long as you guys understand each other .

Op all hope isn't lost yet
Give him a call and ask about his welfare.

I guess he wants to see if you're really into him and just fronting or not.
Your next line of action would prove the answer.
Since the feeling is mutual , quit playing hard to get and pull off that 'I don't care about you' mask

Hope the story ends well.

It's better she tells him now, when they haven't gone too far.
Cuz no matter how long she conceals it, he would one day find out and it could be worse then.

If the man is meant to be hers, who knows-he could stay with her.
Romance / Re: GIRLS: Do You Think You Are Doing The Guys A Favour By Consenting To Date Them? by Tinkybabe(f): 8:17pm On Sep 21, 2013
@ 12 inches
I'm not being self centred. It's just a play of reality and it's been the norm since time beginning.
An analogy is a guy seeking employment -he spends money and time on newspapers, info ,transportation, interview materials etc..in a bid to get a job.

When the job finally comes, the spending reduces but not exactly stop as he still has a quota to contribute but now there's a gain.

So also is a relationship...I know my analogy is an extreme one but just see it in that light if you will.

@OP..I've stated my stance on when they are in a relationship. It should be an equal contribution from both parties.
Sorry ,I thought you meant the period the guy is seeking a relationship with her.
Romance / Re: GIRLS: Do You Think You Are Doing The Guys A Favour By Consenting To Date Them? by Tinkybabe(f): 8:03pm On Sep 21, 2013
If a guy approaches a girl with the intention of going out with her, he has to go all the way to show himself worthy of her.
You came for her, it's not the other way round so be ready to do most of the hard work.

When she agrees to date you and you guys become a couple, then responsibility can then be split into two halves;equal contribution.
