Politics / Nnamani Spoke About Jagaban by TinubuSupport(m): 5:34pm On Aug 10, 2022
Chimaroke Nnamani writes:

Bola Tinubu, the 12th governor of Lagos State, was a co-governor with me (1999–2007). As colleagues we worked together in pioneering the first meetings of Conferences of Southern Governors which we interchanged hosting the first and second and visited Enugu for the meetings.

That meeting brought to the front burner issues of Federalism both Physical and Fiscal. I still remember the educative contributions of Gov. Bisi Akande.

I must confess of occasional envy as we interchanged ideas and implemented reform decisions. He had more resources and quickly implemented the full requirements of ACCESS to Justice reform project. Making the Lagos State Criminal Justice System, one of the best in Africa.

The Judges stopped writing physical notes. More advanced vehicles were provided and participation in Conferences guaranteed. Our two Attorneys General worked closely. Mrs Gloria Egbuji steered us through Access to Justice Program, the now famous Dr. Joe Abah assisted and supervised under the direction of DFID.

I recall a National Competition on Reform advances amongst States covering Governance, Transparencies, Budgeting and Ease of doing business. Supervised by the Economic Adviser to the President ( a guy from Benue State), DFID and other development partners also participated. Enugu emerged tops, followed closely by either Lagos State or the FCT. Enugu also established the first Poverty Reduction Study, Review, Guidelines and Implementation before the Federal Government or indeed any other State, verified by Dr Joe Abah, former DFID staff in Enugu. Enugu tried considering our Financial dilemma. The Justice system also paid close attention to Women and Children welfare.

Both governments pioneered Development Centers. For obvious political reasons he was denied due Federal allocations for years. He kept ploughing on! His Justice sector also provided jobs to many spouses of non Lagosians working and residing in Lagos. I had cause to engage with him on jobs for Enugu spouses. In the Education Sector he introduced Tutor General and raised the bar for earning by teachers. In Enugu we approved that Primary School Teachers could rise to level 16.

We also approved elevation for those who obtained graduate qualifications. I also admired his pupil Governor for a day. Somehow I never got to it. Tinubu also directly intervened in Enugu spouses who had issues as teachers. In the Health Sector, I faintly recall a Soyinka heading his HIV program and later becoming Health Commissioner! As a doctor I kept tab on his strides in my professional area. With a modern Disease Surveillance system and Emergency Medicine program in place.

He put in programs cordinating health and Justice for abused women and children. Tinubu had first class social work response program. His reform advocacy was second to Enugu State. I had the advantage of background but gravely limited by resources. He left a lasting legacy of hard work in Lagos State in infrastructure (roads and housing).

When Bola Ahmed Tinubu was governor, Lagos state’s IGR rose from 600 million Naira per month to over 8 billion Naira per month. He had an impressive track record as a governor; his state contributed more than 30% to our country’s GDP, accounted for more than 65% of industrial investment in Nigeria, 80% of its international trade, and collected more than 60% of the country’s value-added tax. In the area of Human capacity, his mentorship was first class and his mentees have spread out and like little acorns many have become giant oak trees in Nigeria’s political firmaments.

Just like in Enugu we appointed non Enugu people (avoiding the meaningless and retrogressive anathema “non indigene”) I recall my brother Ben Akabueze being a repository of the financial and economic secrets of “Yoruba” Tinubu Lagos State Government.

Fashola, Osinbajo, Aregbosola, Fayemi, etc. All first class with A-game always. I vigorously oppose, protest and detest the shameless campaigns and parody targeting Tinubu’s health. As a Health worker I am amazed by the ignorance, foolishness, wickedness and callousness of these idiotic operators. I believe they are unwarranted, extremely unprofessional, and have no place in our polity. As the GenZ grow and Nigeria merges with the new world, they will cry at the foibles of their progenitors. Get it folks, life is turn by turn limited (apology Uncle Bode). These actions which bleed my heart personally are of public records. History and The Almighty will be very harsh to these bad political comedians. Since we all desire a better Nigeria, our politics should be grounded in facts and reliable evidence. This is the only way we can advance this nation. Ahmed Bola Tinubu is the MOST successful Governor in modern Nigeria bar none. Result of combination of may truisms some beyond him.

Permit me to mention some past presidents who stood out for being able to contribute to the growth and greatness of their countries despite health issues. The first person on my lineup is:- John F. Kennedy (JFK). JFK actually experienced almost daily discomfort, He had digestive issues, allergies, and a persistent back condition that necessitated several operations and was made worse by his participation in World War II. He had medical sequelae of hypoadrenalism, anemia, low blood pressure, etc essentially later determined to be Addison’s disease. Franklin Delano Roosevelt (FDR) the longest serving president of the United States of America served his term as president on a wheelchair this was as a result of polio diagnosis when he was 39yrs old in 1921.

Despite his health Roosevelt guided the country through the Great Depression and World War II, two of the biggest crises of the 20th century. He significantly increased the federal government’s authority through a number of initiatives and reforms known as the New Deal. He was also a key figure in the successful campaign to eradicate Japanese militarism and German National Socialism. Woodrow Wilson After World War I, Woodrow Wilson founded the League of Nations (1914–18). He oversaw the passage of laws outlawing child labor and the 19th Amendment, granting women the right to vote. Wilson’s mouth was sagging on one end in 1919, a sign of a partial stroke, according to a doctor, by October 1919, he was partially paralyzed.

Dwight D. Eisenhower, elected in 1952, American remembered his era as the “happy days” one which they enjoyed nothing but a booming economy. It is important to note that he was already suffering from abdominal adhesions resulting from a 1923 appendectomy and in 1956 during his second term He was diagnosed for having Crohn’s disease, a severe digestive condition that called for surgery. Eisenhower has a stroke shortly after that in 1957. Americans were able to enjoy a booming economy regardless of his health. Ronald Reagan Even though there isn’t much proof that the 40th president had Alzheimer’s while he served as commander in chief, suspicions of dementia followed Reagan during his first presidential campaign, where the 69-year-age old’s attracted a lot of attention as he was the oldest incoming president. Regardless, being referred to as “the great communicator” By negotiating effectively with Congress, Reagan was able to pass legislation that boosted employment, reduced inflation, and strengthened the nation’s defense. H.E . Bola Tinubu needs to work on improving relationships with many others especially my people the Igbo. He needs to lead by advocacy, example, practice and open-mindedness in assuaging the feeling and ongoing hostility to the Igbo in Lagos.

Senator Chimaroke Nnamani

Enugu State Governor.

And for the last pChildren of hate, they will continue to stone hearted because there was no reasons for their bellicosity in the first instance. Just you mentioned Akabueze headed one of the most sensitive ministries of the state , even when it was not in vogue to engage non indigenes as commissioner and others occupying some other political positions now as a carried over from Tinubu laid down foundation. Was it a sin for Asiwaju to work for his party by supporting president Buhari to win elections for two consecutive terms , which they equally did for their own party that satisfied their idiosyncrasies and choice and they lost. All said and done if they want truce they will need to tell us where and how Asiwaju wronged them for specific. They started the hostilities and it is a fight to finish until the end of this election head or tail. They don't have monopoly of violence languages and sense of irresponsibility which they constantly displayed without provocations. When Yoruba was in the opposition right from the independent of this country as mainstream progressives we bored our choice with dignity and never abused any regions for their choices in those times in the first ,second, third and early part of this republic, so what rapport do they want. They are happy when our own son , Obasanjo relegated us to nobody in our own country , closed his eyes to the infrasctural decayed in his own backyard and promoted others beyond their ken in order to spite us we knew the hen would come to roost and decayed confronted him now badly but helpless as powers departed him as it was sure to happen.
Politics / Tinubu Legacies In Lagos by TinubuSupport(m): 9:44am On Aug 08, 2022
This is just one out of many, what about eko atlantic city? Who opened up lekki axis for development with infrastructural development? Prior to 1999, leki axis was just pocket of villages comprising mostly ijebu speaking people, today, leki is the fastest developing real estate hub in africa despite it's swampy and waterlogged nature. One quarter of Anambra is been washed away by gully erosion till date despite Obi and all the OBIdients. Yet the illusionist won't stop saying stuff like lagos is no man's land, every nigerian (especially the igbo's) developed lagos. We charge the OBIdients to open up their own land too for such development. With your money in your hand as a non indigene, you cannot walk into Abakaliki, owerri, nnewi and any part of the east and say you want to buy just 20 acres of land, where will you get the concurrence of kinsmen and neigboring villagers to do so?
Without the visionary leadership of Tinubu, who spent tons of billion reclaiming the sea, there won't be eko atlantic city, infact the whole Ahmadu Bello way under the watch of the federal government had hitherto been sacked by the sea, Tinubu saw the huge potential, reached out for investment from foreign partners and eko atlantic city was born, if PDP had taken over Lagos, that massive investment would have gone down the drain for lack continuity and abandonment .

Leki and ibeju leki entire axis were all pockets of villages prior to 1999, Tinubu came partnered with the private sectors pumped billions of lagos money into developing infrastructure in that corridor, whilst he doing so, he was been mocked and lampooned by PDP and other traducers that he was wasting lagos money to develop unproductive village settlements, when there was urban decay and squalor, decrepit road and other infrastructure all over Lagos metropolis. Trust Jagaban, he never paid attention to their distraction, he rather continued, today leki, and all the massive real estates developments, leki deep sea port, leki airport and Dagote refinery came to light.

The first point of call for Dangote refinery was Warri, the people and their government rejected him, no "foreigner" would ever take massive possession of their God given land, God forbid! Dagote, then find his way to lagos, the ever accomodating West, the rest is history, if nigeria should go there separate ways today, would Dagote just pick his refinery and vamoose to kano?

The magic leki and ibeju leki axis is today, wouldn't have been possible if Tinubu after his glorious reign went into political retirement, which was the fate of most of his contemporary at the time, but he made sure he handed over the lagos blue print and master plan for development to his well teleguided successive successors, who fatefully continued to implement the master plan. Provided this tracjectory of development continues, lagos is on its way to becoming the third largest economy in africa before the close of this decade 2010. The worth of a leader is embedded in the strength of his successors who carried the touch after him.

Let the OBIdients rest their cacophony and address the nation in the light of their Principal's achievement devoid of lies telling of; I left billions of dollars for my successor and let them speak with pictorial evidence of thier Obi's bubble enduring legacies and accomplishments.

*WHAT IS THE OFFENCE OF THE YORUBAS AGAINST THE IGBOS?*

*After the 1959 elections, none of the parties that participated in that election won enough seats at the Parliament to form the govt. Then the action group lead by Awolowo contacted the NCNC lead by Azikiwe to merge and form the govt with their majority. The meeting was to take place in Asaba and the AG group arrived a day before the commencement of the talks. They were still waiting for the NCNC delegates 48hrs after the meeting should have commenced when they heard news of the deal between the NCNC and the NPC of the north. It was this deal that made Azikiwe the first President of Nigeria. That was the same proposal the AG had informally presented to them before but because of the natural hatred of an average Igbo man for anything Yoruba, Azikiwe opted for the NPC instead of the AG lead by Awolowo.*

When the debate for the dissolution of Nigeria was hot in those days, it was only Zik who opposed that idea even when the northerners supported and Awolowo supported it. Then the Civil service in the north was 70% Ibo. It was the way their children were killed during the coup and the arrogance displayed by the Igbos in Sabongari market in Kano that lead to the counter coup of July, 29th 1966. It was in this anger that the authorities of Ahmadu Bello University were ordered to graduate their 300 level students as their first set B.Sc holders so as to send the Igbo's parking from their Civil service.

The first Nigerian coup of January 15th, 1966 was planned by the trio of major Kaduna Nzeogwu, Major Ademola Adegboyega and Major Emmanuel Ifeajuna ( the first winner of an international medal for Nigeria in athletics). But when the execution started, only officers from the north, west and Midwest were killed. No officers or govt officials of Igbo extraction was killed. When Ironsi assumed office, he surrounded himself with only Igbo persons including a certain Mr Ben Nwabueze as Prof Ben Nwabueze was. It was he who advised Ironsi to abolish regional system of govt so that he can easily preside over the whole nation. Today the same Nwabueze and his ignorant Igbo brothers are blaming everyone except themselves. They betrayed Yoruba again.

Fast forward to 1979, the Igbo nation went into alliance with the NPN of the north despite all entreaties from Awolowo for a merger. That merger gave birth to Alex Ekwueme as Vice President to Shagari. When it was time to elect the Senate president and Speaker of the House of Representatives, the Yorubas were completely shot out since we put all our eggs in one basket by voting the UPN enmass. In fact, Victor Umeh, the former National Chairman of ANPP who hails from Anambra state as Ekwueme, was elected as Speaker. Igbo didn't see anything wrong in all that. I was shocked when they began to complain in 2019 when the same scenario repeated itself but in favour of the Yorubas. They lack sense of history. Always antagonistic to the Yorubas.

On the even of the 1993 presidential elections, an Igbo man, Arthur Nzeribe by name approached a court in the night and an injunction was given against that election. The electoral body went ahead and conducted that election and a Yoruba man won by a landslide. Abiola didn't win any of the southeast States. Babangida went ahead to annul that election on the basis of the injunction procured by the Igbo man. Igbo did Yoruba shege again.

There were riots all over the nation. The international communities were issuing threats and sanctions left right and centre. The Tinubus, Ibrus, Soyinkas etc mounted serious pressure on the West to see to the restoration of Abiola's mandate and just when the campaign was gaining traction, Igbo hit the Yoruba's below the belt again. A certain character named Daniel Kanu made himself a willing tool in the hands of the military junta of Gen Abacha. He organised several rallies and concerts just to give Abacha legitimacy and weaken the campaign for the restoration of Abiola's victory. Another Igbo missile against Yoruba interest.

In the buildup to the 1999 presidential elections, there was an understanding amongst politicians in Nigeria that the Southwest be allowed to produce the president as a compensation for the injustice done to them by the annulment of Abiola's victory and the many loss of life they recorded of their children. But Ekwueme, an Igboman still went ahead to battle the ticket with Obasanjo. They always oppose anything Yoruba.

The Igbo's have always demonstrated hatred, disdain and disrespect for anything Yoruba. I cited two examples of how they hobnobbed politically with the north against the Yorubas to their advantage and mocked us with their victories. But anytime, we do the same thing, they call us slaves. What rubbish!

For those of you Yorubas who are joining them to denigrate and destroy your own son, I have written this for you to understand that they will never do that to their own son, at least not for the good of a Yoruba man. Think! Ronu!

Their celebrities have been supporting Obi without any insult from any Yoruba celebrity. How is it now an offence for Yoruba celebrities to support Tinubu? Unfortunately, some Yoruba people are joining them too. You are a classic example of an Oponu. you lack sense or the ability to reason.

*YORUBA E RONU FA!*

Buhari is far better than Tinubu but because he was old, criminals took over his government and looted Nigeria dry and he couldn't do anything about it. Now, imagine what the situation will be under tinubu who is already extremely corrupt, but now so old and sick that he can't hold a flag, turn pages of a book, or walk without falling. Tinubu even wears pampars and soils his cloth whenever it is not changed on time. This is the person some "no future ambition" bastards and sadists want to force on Nigerians.

The same Tinubu that is suffering from Parkinson disease, Urine incontinence, dementia, loss of rectal control, and arthritis is who some wicked tribalists and evil cronies want to lead Nigeria, a country of 200 million people and most of whom are already suffering untold hardship because corrupt politicians like Tinubu has stolen everything and kept for themselves and their children and great-grand-children yet unborn.

So Tinubu with his smelly mouth and rotten teeth, body odour due to feaces and urine stored in pampars would be the one to attract foreign investors or attend closed door meeting with world leaders? At least, Buhari has an attractive physic and is neat and handsome looking, which world leaders would be comfortable with a character like Tinubu?

The only thing Tinubu believes in is his disgusting entitlement mentality that it's his turn to rule Nigeria regardless of whether he has what it takes to improve it.

Shame on all the tribalists supporting Tinubu.
Shame on all those who are collecting bribes to campaign for a sick old man who should rather in an old people's home receiving care.

The fact is, they are not always realistic, they base everything on religion and religious bigotry when in fact the religion angle doesn't favor them in terms of political calculations, numbers and realities.

The North definitely won't vote for Obi because of their anti North sentiments, insults, denigration and violence against northerners in the SE. Northeners did not respond to their atrocities against northerners in kind, they are always very patient until election periods.

The SW on the other hand care less about religion, it's never a factor in Yorubaland.

Right now for Yoruba people, it's about Yoruba man, Yoruba people and Yorubaland same way it's ibo candidate for ibo people .

Also, they are going to steal, dilute and share votes with PDP because with the SE going to the Labor Party, they took away the SE/Major ibo votes with them so the PDP lost the election already because the numbers doesn't favor them and they are not even relevant in the SW to start with even without a Yoruba man at the top .

The SE also is even more irrelevant in the SW because their votes in the SW are limited to ibo voters in ibo settlements in the SW

These are the obvious realities confronts the PDP, the SE and Peter Obi people, but they are too emotional and politically realistic to see clearly and make better decisions..
