Baby Ilan is doing much better
I was allowed to feed him today. I expressed and they fed him through syringe. I'm told since he ate without issues, that it's a great improvement and he should be home with us within a day or two.

I got to know this morning that it was meconium that he swallowed.

All thanks to God for his improvement.

So, I'm being discharged but my boy is being taken to NICU. Pls pray for him to make a speedy recovery. They say other things are okay but his breathing is still an issue. I'm trying my best not to be worried or cry but it's hard.

Please take away the spirit of fear, be strong for him n keep saying positive declarations into his life. It is well.

I woke up at 2am to pee and upon wiping I saw show. 1 st time after my first delivery that I would see it so I was extremely sure that that day won't pass me by
I went back to bed and mild contractions started. When the alarm rang at past 5am I made dh to help carry me up as usual though I didn't let him know that I was contracting so he won't panic
We got ready and set off for work. I had a early morning meeting to attend and I already set my contraction timer down while in the meeting, the intervals were like 10 -11 minutes
Afterwards it was back to work. I had prayed seriously for painless contractions and I got painless ones.....it was just that I was having uncomfortable tightness down below. Even at a point o i was dozing at my desk. Though being a veteran I couldn't recall when as in at what stage to get to the hospital. I had to consult Google search for that.......it said when contractions are 5mins apart and lasting for a minute. I was about 8min contractions interval
Around 12noon I went to the ladies to pee and there I lost more plug. Then dh called my line to check up on me. I told him at that point. He was unfortunately going to a meeting. I told him not to bother but to send the driver for me. I gave my line manager notice that I was going to the hospital. ...he couldn't believe it cos I was extremely calm.

The driver came for me and I asked him to take me home 1st to pick up my mum. I even changed my clothes and mixed cold ribena before leaving
At the hospital contractions were still more of tightening. I gave the receptionist my card and told her I was in labour so they quickly moved me to see the doctor for an examination
Lo and behold the doctor did the almighty VE and declared "she's 8cm dilated please contact the labour ward that a patient is on the way up" they didn't even check me into a room first.
I was dressed in the labor ward. ..removed all clothes and accessories and worn a hospital gown. By this time I was contracting like every 3min. The doctor came in and broke my membrane /water then all hell was let loose. Because I have a posterior placenta I felt serious pains in my back. The nurse had to start rubbing my back when the pain hits. At a time I asked for pain relief but it was too late cos I was almost delivering so they can not administer epidural. In my mind I was beating myself up that why did I have to be a superwoman that now I can't get the epi
I didn't even get the poopoo feeling I felt with my previous deliveries. ...all I felt this time was back breaking pressure on my vj and anu s. The nurse checked for the head descent and went to call the doctor. By the time they both arrived I was screaming and pushing. I pushed twice and my angel slipped out entire head and body. She was crying instantly and taken for check out and cleaning
Meanwhile I was given iv oxytocin to aid placenta delivery which came out less than a minute after. I had no tear at all and when I heard the nurse doing my baby's vital call out the weight I further gave God the glory cos she's my biggest so far at 3.85kg. To further aid contractions of the uterus 2tabs of cytotec was placed under my tongue and the doctor left me in the hands of the nurses for clean up
The time interval between when I got to the hospital and when I delivered was less than 1hour. The matron said that it was the fastest delivery she's seen
What helped me to prevent tearing I will say regular s e x, perineum massage and pelvic floor exercises
I pray for the remaining January mamas that you will also have supernatural delivery. ...painless contractions and easy smooth labour. None of us will cast our young.

The doctor said that the pushing was stressful for him that's why he swallowed some fluid but that he will be fine

As at tonight, he's been taken off the oxygen as his breathing has improved but I can't breastfeed him till the doctor says so. 

Even though labor eventually became very painful, it was still a supernatural delivery to me because some women begin this journey and never make it out of the delivery room! But I started, I got in, and I came out with my son

Please follow me and thank God for a safe delivery of my handsome baby boy. The light of my life!

He was born at 8.44am, today the 9th of January 2017! And he weighs 3.7kg. I was given a tear for him to come out.

He swallowed some fluid when he was coming out so he's having difficulty breathing on his own. He's on oxygen and antibiotics now. As soon as he is stabilized, I'll send a pix.

His name is Ilan for short meaning we rejoice. Full name is Ilankinan meaning we rejoice in the Lord

I'll share bs as soon as I'm strong.

Abeg make una know vex o, my tori go long o, cos wanna start 4rm the beginning o.
Part 1
I was prep 4 my intro late 2015, when I started having Lower abs pains, I started going 4 scans, hvs n all, taking antibiotics, still same until after my intro Jan last year , a dr tolD me to start trying, so I did but was always once in a while since dh n I stays separately. A day after my registry was so sick went 4 scan n series of test n was told my appendix has tripled n has to be removed that's 2weeks to my wedding, the dr insist it has to be removed to avoid stories that touches the heart, so we did a day after my registry, it wasn't easy at all o, a week after I was discharged I started feeling sick, 3days to my wedding that's less than 2weeks after the surgery, it was soo bad until I did pt n it came out positive, we were soo excited but scared, wedding went well but I was patched up, cos I stopped taking drugs, I was throwing up, my incision site was bringing out pus, tnk God 4 my life, I was so scared my baby won't come out fine cos of all the antibiotics.

Part 2
1st trim was hell, I throw up all the time, feel dizzy, I perceive everytin, everyting irritates me, I was also taking care of my incision site, no appetite, it was so bad,my hair was out of place, I no see road, I no even know were my make up kit was sef.. 2nd trim was ok, I do shakara small, incision site had closed up. 3rd trim started, another wahala, my lo was soo active. I felt every kick,twist,turns n all, at a point I wasn't comfy with it again, I had to pray 4 grace n then lo was always kicking my incision site. Sometimes I come online to spill my mind n even cc some mama's but got no response xept 4rm dunni (sorry if I didn't spell ur moniker well) so I became an active peeper, but became frnds to suzy offline..
Part 3
At 37wk the pain was much but GoD's grace kept me going,i became restless started squats n walks, that week I had very strong contractions in the night arnd 2am like 3times but notin again, on sun I went to the clinic was told am 2cm (VE is sooo painful o) but notin serious yet, went home with dh, on tue I lost the mucus plug n I was having contraction., I managed till wed anc day, I was checked n told 3cm n was sent home.i than they Waka like duck, I couldn't sleep that night, my jajaina wan comot 4 my pelvic shai, hubby no fit sleep sef, as the contraction they come I they squat, na hot water I they drink n bath with. Dh no fit leave me o, we carry ourself go the maternity again them talk say na 4cm but baby's head no gree descend say I they lazy make dh no ans me make we they go.. hmmmmm... I reach house come they do power woman the contraction than reach every 10min I was crying we lock master's bedroom cos of my mum thinking I need excersice, stupid us, I just they groan 4 inside till Fri o. By Fri around 11, hubby talk say make we go 4 induction or augmentation, whichever 1, na him we come call maternity they say no that we re just 38wks +, I call hospital they talk say cos of the surgery I haD previously them no fit, na him we confuse, them talk say make I go 4 walk n squat, which I Did, by evening I than they cry na him my mama too they cry we come carry ourself go maternity 1st them say they no fit help me with medication cos my appendectomy site never heal well and I might av internal bleeding if given drip that we should go 4 cs. My hubby n mum were so angry that it took them 2days to tell us the truth. that was how we were referred cos the other private hsp I reg is far. As we reach we 1st collect card n I was taking to the sonographer 4 scan na him they talk say baby's heartbeat than drop that we have to bring him out that minute, na him my dh they worried, he signed concept form n paid, they rushed me in n within 10min my prince was brot out, hmmmmm...Wetin my eye see 4 that theatre I no fit talk am o. the nurses took my baby to his dad, he told me baby wasn't crying nor moving, he was beating, still nothing, my mum had started crying. He was rushed back to the theatre and hubby said they spent another 5min on him before he cried. I was stitched and my baby was brought to me, my piece of the moon, cute and strong.. recovery is another chapter on its own. Am grateful to be alive with my baby. Safe delivery to all mama's n to ATC mama's, this year u will laugh.

In all thank God for safe delivery. God bless mother and child, he's so cute.

I started experiencing d pain close to my anus @ 15 weeks so I complained to d Doc n he said it was normal that some women might even av a protruding anus, d pain was a bit much then but dis days its just once in a while n not serious I didn't take any drug.

Sabi mamas, please help me oo, my bumbum (especially around my anus) is paining me, i feel it more when i sit down, also my uterus (dont know if na my jajaina sha) as well pains alot especially during the night when i am about to turn/change position, so scared of carry the the legs again cos of the pain felt around my uterus/jajaina,atimes i prefer to assume a sitting position first before i change my sleeping position. please what can i do to stop this or is it part of the package?

Also at the back of my right leg, i usually feel pains (thought it might the muscle around there causing this) mostly when i'm walking around or standing.

Lastly, my doctor said there's protein in my urine, mamas i am so scared cause same has since been detected at 18 weeks and i'm currently 25 weeks, what can i do to reduce this protein ishh

last last, does any mama know the registration procedure at Ikorodu General Hospital, Lagos? i have been using a private hospital all these while but also wish to register at a government hospital.

You can travel till 30weeks I think. But you must clear with your doctor before you travel. Also airlines will require a fit to fly letter from your doctor/hospital when you've gotten to a certain point in pregnancy. I traveled by air at 22weeks

For local flight you can fly till 30 weeks as jazzjazz mentioned. For Regional flight but restricted to Arik is 32 weeks with doctor report. For international flight, depends upon the airline but highest is 35/36 weeks with doctors report and airport fit to fly certificate . Hope you understand
