TravelRe: Is Ghana A Good Place To Start Up Life? by tkb417(m): 6:37pm On Apr 26, 2010
I visit Accra more than i do Abuja and i think i know wassup with the country

The way an average Ghanaian feels about Nigerians is the way other countries feel about Nigerians

Try vising kenya, South Africa, Angola and maybe Senegal/Gambia and u'll see the same cold shoulder

an average Ghanaian feels a Nigerian is smarter and would probably be a cheat

not to digress, i think the country is cool, calm and habitable unlike the chaotic Nigeria. The best place to make money will still be Nigeria for someone who is just out of school cos i doubt if a Nigerian can easily get a job in Ghana

On the balance, ill prefer Ghana for an entrepreneur who is on the rise and is looking for a better environment to stay while his/her businesses will still be in Nigeria while Nigeria will be the best place for a young school leaver
Tkb, do you agree Darren Bent deserves to make the PFA team of the season?
Any striker that scores 24 league goals for a team placed in the 10th position is better than Drogba/Rooney combined in ma opinion.
if he deserves to be there, does that mean he shd be included ahead of Rooney or Drogba?

if Rooney, then he shd be the Player of the year;
if Drogba, then i dont know by what barometer. The diff between Drogba and Rooney is not so big

Drogba has more than 30 goals in all competitions and i doubt if Bent has done better than Carlos Tevez this season

Agege-Alimosho alone holds between 4 and 5 million people reportedly. That LGA is 88% slum, and 12% villages.
By the time we go down to Bariga, Itire-Lawanson, Ijora-Badiya, Olodi-Apapa, Kirikiri Area, Ajangbadi, Ebute-Metta East and West, Lagos Island/Isale-Eko, the various Jakande Estates around Lagos . . .  well, your guess is as good as mine.

Reasonably okay areas in Lagos are not so many. Ikoyi, VI, Lekki, Yaba, Surulere, Ikeja, Palmgrove/Ilupeu, etc. Most of those areas always have a slum overlay anyway.

Lagos is one huge slum, let's face it.
and u expect us to believe this?

if the whole L.G.A is slum according to you, what do we call the beautiful well laid out estates in those areas you entioned with good roads, pipe borne water and  of course modern houses

i have been to Gemade estate, shagari estate, Gown estate extenstion and if those are slums, then asokoro/maitama shd  be slum

how do we arrive at these definations and wild remarks

a whole L.G. A in Lagos = 88% slum, 12% villages?
wow

Lights out…

The first time I heard you rap
I thought oh my God, what a chap
Your lyrics were smoking like a volcano
Even DJs shiver at your Tempo
Omo-ogun you’re truly a lyrical enigma
How come you ended it in your maxima?

Ah Barrack OGrin is gone!
Can someone tell me this is a pun?
Why can’t these special ones stay with us?
Is it their destiny to rush home in a rush?
You shared the dream to become Nigerian president
Infact you intended making Ajah your residence
Now you’re gone beyond the Zanga!

Na wa o my CEO
How come we never did a collabo?
Your originality is beyond mere words
Now I know why the grave holds talents beyond words
See tributes flowing like water on nairaland
Elegies from all the stars from the fatherland
Of a truth, olenu gan!

If I had the honor to write your epitaph
I will put a few words on our behalf
Just so that all doubts might be cleared
“Here lies a true naija boy……
Omo Ogun ton ba awon angeli fa poli papo…”
Lights out!

Tribute to DaGrin……….lee007’10.

Yes, there is major clearing up work going on in Lagos, but much more needs to be done. Instead of shrinking, area's like Makoko have grown larger over the years. Like I mentioned earlier, our major failing is a lack of instituted standards. Fashola is by Nigerian measure, a great governor; but Lagos (like the rest of Nigeria) is still dangerously lacking where standards are concerned.

The BBC might have a negative agenda, but there is no point going after them. We are much better of venting our fury on the powers that be in Nigeria.
i agree

we need a lot to do as a country

sanusi has started with the financial sector, let the other people take up the gauntlet and clean their sectors too grin grin grin
