Beaf: Your Malaysia example only threw a brighter light on the failures of past and present Nigeria's govts. Malaysia is a country that even asked for our help in the past, yet they are now developed. As for the BBC's figures, do you have better figures? Or will disputing those figures stop folk in Makoko experiencing a sub-human existence? Did you really give deep thought to the issues at hand before defending the effects of corrupt governance? i do not understand how 61% of Lagosians would be living in slums with the present cleaning up exercise in Lagos and the present govts drive in the provision of some basic amenities. The present govts efforts have ensured major clear up in some of the densely populated places in Lagos oshodi, Mushin, alaba and co. while ill not argue there are no slums in Lagos, i cant understand how they arrived at that figure and hence my vituperations. if 61% live in slums in Lagos, how many would be living in slums 4 years back b4 this adminstration? like 90% The BBC's expose should be a workplan for any discerning govt but as a native and residnt of Lagos, i wouldnt want my sensiblities insulted all in the name of journalism my point!! |

frosbel: Misquoting me is not the best way to advance your cause.
When did I say that UK people think Lagos is a rubbish dump ?
Certainly not the ones I know who are widely travelled and exposed.
They just think that it is unfair to have a few elite and 'middle class' living in opulence while a greater majority live slightly below the subsistence level. LOL my bad. . . think it was Saga that said so no vex |

Beaf: So you agree that it was you who brought Malaysia into the argument? Hmmmm, we are getting somewhere, at last, there seems to be some motion in that akamu brain of yours.
Unfortunately, for the reasons I have mentioned, malaysia was the wrong country to use as an example. We attained independence at about the same time, they even came running to us for oil palm seedlings to start off their own plantations (they quickly overthrew us to the number one spot). They are now DEVELOPED.
Anyways the crux of the matter is that you are blaming the BBC instead of our govt. Can you tell us why? Malaysia was perfect for my illustration so? as for the topic, i cant remember blaming BBC for anythin but asking how they arrived at 11 million simples read |

texazzpete: @tkb417 et al Kindly answer these questions:
1. Why would you rather point accusing fingers at the BBC instead of the Federal or State governments? 2. If the BBC apologizes (which they definitely won't), will that suddenly turn all the slums into decent environments? 3. If the actual numbers of lagosians that live in slums add up to 7 million instead of the 11 million you said BBC claimed, will that make things all right? Will that make you feel much better, knowing that still a huge number of people are suffering while you make snarky comments on the internet? Texazz u guys are right Saga and Frosble have given us reasons why a UK born and bred guy would think the whole of Lagos is messed up coooolio, im not comfortable with the number tho but i agree its a wake up call for the govt to measure up and save us from these constant insult from the West |

were you designed to be dumb?
someone posted pictures of some parts in London and said the places should be better than some places in VI and Ikoyi and i responded by saying this is Nigeria and not Malaysia
MEANING, NIGERIA CAN NEVER BE COMPARED TO A COUNTRY LIKE UK
how is that difficult to understand. Malaysia was piecked by me because we can argue they are a developing country but their facilities can still rival places in UK what is this man on about?
now we need to know the number of retards in Nairaland for real
what do you know about Malaysia mr silly that i dont know? hehehehehe |

If you were in the least bit smart, you would have realised that Malaysia and Nigeria started life at about the same time. As said earlier, Malaysia came to Nigeria for oil palm seedlings and took over the lead in that industry. Malaysia has no oil or other rich mineral blessings, but today, Malaysia is developed; Nigeria is not. But a fool mentions Malaysia, in his defense of the decay in Nigeria comprehension palaver NECO and JAMB should be scrapped!!!!!!!!!!! i cant debate at this level. You need a brain booster!!! 1) you missed the plot right from the word go 2) you cannot understand the use of allegory when intertwined in words hence your show of shame here 3) The lil you know is a stumbling block to your mental state hence the applesauce im reading up you are a disgrace to whoever sent you to school!!!! |

Beaf: If you weren't thick headed, you wouldn't have picked Malaysia. But you are just a know nothing, so you foolishly say anything that comes to mind. Unfortunately, foolish people like you who think with their arses abound in Nigeria's corridors of power. That is the real reason we haven't developed.

Kai! I want to blame BBC for your foolishness, but no be dem fault. I dont know you, but if intelligence will make me go places, then it might take you a billion years to catch up with me Malaysia, Brasil, South Africa et al are all developing countries whose facilities can be compared to the developed countries in a way hence the line, its Nigeria we are talking about, not Malaysia not Brasil not South Africa in short it means, Nigeria cannot be compared to UK in any way!!! simples; what an annoying simpleton you are and a bit retarded i think!!! |

https://news.bbc.co.uk/nol/shared/spl/hi/pop_ups/07/business_nigeria0s_challenges/img/7.jpg jeezz hmmmmmm, how do i start? 1) i cannot see any entrance in front or behind the gutter 2) the gutters are cleaned in Lagos every last saturday of the month and that means they are usually clean except in an area where sanitation is relagated to the background fyi, Lagos is the only state where this is a common practice what on earth are u on about? |

Beaf: You're aren't joking, are you? Your definitions are way off, but we both know what I'm talking about. Even in a semi-high brow area like Ilupeju, there are open sewers everywhere. We have no standards. We urgently need to start developing standards; that is the only way we can develop, otherwise we might as well move into zoo's. in front of the houses in Ilupeju so Ilupeju residents jump these open sewers b4 entering their houses wow so how do they drive in then? or the cars jump the sewers too? LOL |

honeric01: do you jump anything before getting into your house? i mean your house must be the worst house in the whole of Lagos. was trying to pull the guy out of his misery but he fell for it i dont know of houses where u jump drainages b4 u can enter nyways, if thats wht they mean by slum, then u can only find those in the dirtiest part of Lagos. I doubt if a million people live in such houses in Lagos |

It's difficult to believe anybody whose 'good morning' is a lie. Your position on Sanusi is well documented, so is mine. I have said it time and time again that Sanusi is not qualified even to run a community bank. With questionable bachelor's degree in economic from Zaria, and masters degree from Sudan, there's nothing that specially qualifies the man for such an important position. I said 'questionable' because a prince, children of the well to do basically 'buy' their grades from professors in Nigeria very eager to please them. how i manage to argue with someone who thinks like this is a miracle just like Dagrin would say, "u never holla" u dont know jack |
