smoooooooooooth or what do you say your name is? why will you not say the truth?
i have lived and work in Ghana let us be realistic Ghana is a good place to be the government
cares about what is happening to the people, they care about electricity, they have a sincere
effort to make it available always, in fact i was a part of a still on going project to supply gas

note the Gas is from our own 'escravos'
So my brother if the present spate development continues in Ghana, they are heading for greater greatness
Thank you. One day bad management will cease in Nigeria and all will be well. Nigeria will be great one day. Maybe not in our generation sha
so my brother, tell me what happens to Ghana whatever if we refuse to sell gas to them? grin grin

OK. First Nigerians are flocking back to Nigeria because of recession, then Nigerians are flocking dubai for shopping, now NIgerians are fleeing to Ghana and other countries to escape hard times? Am I the only one wondering if these stories are not just exaggerations? How do we really know the true effect of the global economic turn on Nigerians if every other story out there has Nigerias going one way or the other? Are the rich ( who I supposed are the ones flocking to dubai) not hurt in any way by this? We have many CEOs and executives around the world already feeling the heat, cutting back on their lifestyle in so many areas. Are the Nigerian rich even affected at all? Is the situation in Nigeria as a result of the global crisis or just the usual peaking yet again? lol
dont mind them jare

are we the only one facing recession?
England, Germany, USA, Iraq, Iceland, et al and Nigeria are facing economic slowdown!!!!!!!!!!!
How is this a Nigerian Problem?
companies folding up? has any Nigerian bank packed up?
how many banks in America have gone under? havent u guys heared of a country going bankrupt?
Iceland!!!!!!!!!!!!! have they fled to Norway?

See as all these bank workers dey foam for mouth. You are complaining about the poster exposing PHB, you guys are funny. very soon, all the banks will be exposed. Most banks are looking for ways to drastically reduce their staff salary. I even heard some will go as low as the civil service pay structure. In another month of two, most of the bank workers go foam for mouth some more.
ok, lets wait till June. Im adding extra 2 months for you.

I've been reading this thread for a while and it's rather refreshing, not like the other 'burning issues'.
But make una come o. Some of the work days you guys are describing sound like fiction to me. No be say i dey call una liarz but, what happened to all the stuff the Naija work environment is known for? General 'faffing' around, clueless bosses, lazy staff who specialize mostly in running down the boss and stabbing each other in the back, scheming and lying, selling or ratting each other out to expat staff or the bosses because of basic favours, simple tasks that end up becoming major 'projects' because of selfish interest or general incompetence of all concerned, etc, etc?

However, people like Tollu, tkb ,Jarus do talk about the faffing around, the facebooking and the rest.

haaa bros eeee . . .

u wan tell me say u no know say Iindia wire us 99-1 true true ?

in fact it was Thunder Balogun that struck the only ballistic goal into their net . . .all our players were seeing double and the goalie-mepon was just picking goal upon goals from his net
na real golaie-mepon grin grin grin grin

na so i hear the thing o
den talk say the reason why the Indians scored 99 was cos the ball will turn to lion and the goalie (ogedengbe) will run away from his goalpost and as soon as the the thing hit the net, it will turn to a ball.
While all these were going on, the referee didnt see how the ball was changing to a lion o shocked shocked shocked

Then, the only goal was scored by Thunder Balogun who damned all consequences to unleash a ferocious shot into the net. I heared the man fractured his leg cos apparently it was a mould of rock he hit while trying to hit the ball. shocked shocked shocked

kai kai, since then i dey fear Indians even till today.

It's amazing that in this day and age when the west are reeling from recession and laying off people, there are some folks in Naija, who are willing to gamble "their allowances and my savings" to come abroad.

Best wishes folks.
dont mind dem. some are sending mails daily asking for money to be sent to dem abroad.
i know of someone in accenture technologies who just got fired cos of the issues in the UK, now hes gonna earn 25m in one of the local banks in 9ja

I really appreciate your advice, asides my husband you are the next person that has given me the strenght to go on.
It might be difficult initially, but I am ready to face it and with God all things are possible.
I found out that in 9ja, if you don't have any certificate from abroad, u are treated like nobody, in my work place, a girl came with Uk certificate and she got promoted in 2 weeks to a manager post
, let me get something from there since I have the opportuinity to.lol
I have no plans to depend on anyone, I am moving with enough to take care of myself and also apply for the job seekers allowance alongside.

This behaviour is a recognized pattern on NL. It is unproductive and its a waste of time. I believe the OP had much more useful information to share until he was blackmailed out of this thread. Those laying claim to superior wisdom fail to see that nobody on NL is a toddler waiting to be spoonfed. Jon o jon and tkb, you have done this small community of Nigerians a lot of disservice.
wanted to answer you appropriately but someone did.
My response is below, i wouldnt have done it better

think not Pennywise, the post smirked of the typical Nigerian bad belle mentality of someone who has lost out in power stakes or someone caught with his hand in the cookie jar pointing out that someone else had a good helping b4 he was found out.

This guy obviously has sympathies for Mary Bassie and feels she has been hard done by despite her loyalty to BankPHB but he has failed to show proof of any calculated attempt to pin some misdeed on her to get her fired. FA might not be clean in this matter but it remains to be seen.

This murk reminds me of the Bunmi Oni issue at Cadbury when executives go into grey areas in trying to have good financial records/performance then turning around to allege the knowledge of the board in their shady dealings when the cat is let out of the bag.

The line between fraud and financial dexterity is very thin and if we have debacles like Maddoff's pyramid in "God's own country", what then do we actually expect in a country steeped in corruption like ours?

As Idi-Amin said "When there is a change in power in Africa, heads must roll", you can adapt that to say "When the 11th commandment is broken in Nigerian financial circles, heads must roll" it is unfortunate it has to be people the poster knows in this instance.

Nevertheless, he is a despicable coward having no honour whatsoever. He is not deserving of still being in the employment of BankPHB
Penny,
read this and understand b4 you hastily hit ur keyboards again.

And please kindly tell the poster to come with hard facts and figures to support his claims.
Coming on the internet to drop peoples names without facts are not only tantamount to share buffoonery but its an act that shouldnt be encouraged here or wherever.
I'll re-echo the above posters sentiments, hes a coward for dropping peoples names and remaining anonymous.
Hes a typical rabble rouser whos got no substance hence all these malicious pronoucements with no substansive proof. Hes a darn fakester!!!!!!!!!!!

his attempt to manipulate or sensationalise whatever has happened in PHB in the manner of a demagogue is rude, barbarous, uncouth and clownish in all ramifications!

wetin sef?
Dating And Meet-up Zone › Re: Let's Stop Dating Poor Girls. by tkb417(m): 7:06pm On Feb 13, 2009
@ tkb417 - i gree with you to an extent, however i dont think its fair to say girls that come from a poor family should not be dated, i mean no one chooses their family and if you are poverty striken then its really not your fault.

What i can say is galz/guyz that do not go out and grab the opportunities that are there for them that can help make their lives better are a definite NO. Galz/Guys that just sit there and wait for a wealthy partner to come take care of them are also a definite NO and by the way its not just 9JA galz/guyz, this kind of behavoir is universal accross all races and genders
i agree with you. I dont believe in running from the poor but im against the 'larger than life attitude' of most of our hungry gurls.
My subsets only include the poor that will not live thier profile but stake claims that thier generation hasnt witnessed/enjoyed.

Did Chelsea have the appeal to the global market?
maybe Not. not sure cos they attracted good and decent players wayback

With Romans billions they have bought loads of top class players and won trophies they couldnt win in 50 years and attained world class status which was impossible years back
i agree. give me another example of a club that has bought success with money.
Sports › Re: Madrid Top Rich List ; Chelsea London Richest by tkb417(m): 6:45pm On Feb 13, 2009
How much merchandise did Chelsea sell prior to Roman and when he bought them over?

How many people would want to buy Robinho, Elano, jersey compared to Vassel and Dunnes jersey pre takeover.
If they had bought Kaka like they wanted, How many people would have bought kaka merchandise?
Why do clubs rush to buy David Beckham.

Tell me how Chelsea won their first titles after 50 years of waiting. Structure? They spent big.

What of the Lazio team that won the Serie A?
A Lazio and Parma under Cragnotti and Tanzi would have made that list 8 years ago. But now the moneybags are gone they cant compete in the finances.
slow ur roll and follow my line of thought.

Chelsea pre Roman used to be one of the most cosmopolitan clubs in England with the array of foreigners that played in the club.
Im sure u were alive when the likes of Veron, Zola, Flo and co played in the club. By any standards, these are players that are as big as those playing presently. where did they get the money from then?
i agree money can be like a bridge to stardom for some clubs but it doesnt or might not necessarily translate to absolute success. Lazio is a good example

Sports › Re: Madrid Top Rich List ; Chelsea London Richest by tkb417(m): 5:22pm On Feb 13, 2009
I wont want to go into details here.

Do you think a pre-Roman Chelsea would have made the top 5 or Mancheter City would have made the ratings?

The rich guy comes around pump in money makes the club more competitive, they sign better players and they win more laurels and their merchandise are more in demand. Which part of this dont you understand?
what have you said?

If youre the type that believes a business model of bringing in moneybags to buy players will equal successes on the field, then ure joking.
City, Newcastle and co are on the list because of the structure that has been on groung prior to any buyout or buy-in as the case may be.

UTD have always been a top club irrespective of any change in ownership structure, a lil tweak in the stucture hasnt changed anything.
go look for playboi magazine, this isnt what you understand very well so ill let you rest

PS:
The variables used for that list were computed before the Abu Dhabi people took over Man city so dont say rubbish

I can not provide answers to those questions, especially to questions that can only be answered on a personal level. No where in the Bible does it say that Jesus was able to heal ON COMMAND. Jesus NEVER said he commanded the power to heal but repeatedly spoke of that power belonging to his father. What you cut out are verses showing that he healed people but not verses showing that he healed ON COMMAND. Also, the bible does not speak of Jesus healing ALL people in those days. It speaks instead of Jesus healing those who came to him and those around him but not everyone. I mean he could have had a next door neighbour who he was never healed by Jesus. What you offered up are verses that say what they say but not what you say. If, however, you choose to believe that Jesus healed everything that moved back during his time, and he controlled the power to heal in his time( and so was able to do the former), then that is fine by me. Just that I hope you know that not all persons believe that and so you can not judge the belief of others by your own.
Kobo, and if this doesnt answer banom and Lagosboi, then they need miracles to unlock the spirit of understanding that God has given everybody.

Jakumo
i really dont know what to say to you cos ur grammar dey scare me grin grin

Topic
why cant the President go to the imams? dont they heal too?
or u havent seen where imams advertise thier spiritual powers?

Like Kobo rightly said, you only receive what you ask for, no one gets deliverance looking from afar.
Or do you hope to get healed by just looking at paracetamol on ur table? NO, u take efforts to take it out of the sachet, put in ur mouth and swallow with water. Those are the processes.
Seek, look for and take steps that will heal you of ur infirmities.

Tell ur President to seek for healing if he believes he SHOULD be healed by the OTHER religion.
at least, the IMAMS pray for him everytime. why are thier prayers not getting answered too?

Poor Girls, the same ones who'll keep yapping about not being able to date a guy who doesn't have money as if they've got any. They are out looking for a guy to carry away their family problems, give them a house to live in and a car to drive. In fact marriage is a lot like winning the lottery for a poor girl. In the long run a poor girl cannot be trusted because she's a fake right from the start, she's in it as long as it pays her.
In order to raise the stakes let's identify a poor girl as:

A girl with no car.
A girl from a poor family.
A girl who can't pay her own bills.
Any girl who doesn't match your status.

If the ladies say they can't date without money why can't the guys do the same. Holla!
hmmmm
cool. but will you say a gurl without a car is a poor gurl?
i dont think so.

But i agree with ur post 99%
