CrimeSoldier Goes Berserk, Kills Senior Officer Over Frozen Salary Account by tkgindofa(op): 7:28pm On Jul 31, 2020
A soldier serving with the 202 Battalion of the 21 Special Armoured Brigade, Bama, Borno State, has shot dead his adjutant, Lt. Babakaka Ngorgi, for allegedly refusing to give him a travel pass to enable him resolve his inability to access his salary account, which had been frozen for about eight months.

The private, whose identity could not be ascertained, was said to have fired some rounds at the officer, who was making a phone call in front of the unit headquarters on Wednesday.

The killer soldier was immediately taken into custody at the scene of the incident, while the remains of the officer were evacuated to the 7 Division Medical Services and Hospital.

The shooting reportedly threw the officers and men of the 202 Battalion into confusion.

Military sources said the suspected killer’s bank account was frozen by the authorities because he went AWOL (away without official leave) for six months.

He was said to have returned to his unit in Bama and had been pestering the deceased to give him a travel pass so that he could sort out the problem, but Ngorgi reportedly refused to accede to his request.

But the matter took a tragic turn when the soldier went to the deceased’s office and gunned him down.

Ngorgi, according to reports, got married last December.

A source said, “The tragic incident occurred at the 202 Battalion, Bama, when a soldier shot his adjutant. They had a disagreement over an undisclosed issue.

“In addition to that, the adjutant refused to give the soldier a pass to go and solve his problem after eight months without salary and allowances. The soldier had gone AWOL for six months and his account was frozen.

“So, on Wednesday morning, he emptied his magazine of 30 rounds on the officer. The soldier was arrested and handcuffed immediately.”

Best friends or closest friends as some people term it is quite normal in the life of 80% of world population, I had one too.

We grew up as teens together, matured as adults together, he came to our house always and ate all his meals with us. My mom was really nice to him when she was alive. He wore my clothes and never returned them. I did not ask because my parents always provided for me although they were average citizens.

Then the worst thing in my life happened. I lost both my parents within the space of four years.
Things turned downhill for me (orphans do suffer a lot.. Too much suffering for you to believe there is even God in heaven who takes care of the fatherless and motherless).

My friend travelled to an African country. He kept telling me to come over there to work that things are better there. I kept declining but after a year of constant pressure, I decided to man up, packed my bags and travelled to meet him.

Guess what? I did not stay up to 5 days with him!!!

His attitude changed by the second day, he yells at me at every given opportunity, from his best friend, I turned to his boy, the heat he was given me was so bad that when he leaves the house and he comes back, I get scared just by hearing his footsteps. I virtually turned to a nonentity to him. I had no money on me because the little I had left, he collected it when I arrived. I knew no one, I felt so miserable and alone and I started regretting why I left Nigeria.

On the fifth day ,I woke up early in the morning and shook him up. I don’t know what got into me (but I am glad it did), I told him I can’t stay with him anymore and I want to leave. He did not even feel bad about this, he did not think of the fact that I know nothing and nowhere in this country. He let me go.

I packed my bag amid tears and went into the street. Mind you, I had no one to call back in Nigeria... It was tough on me but as a naija guy and as God will have it, I did not spend even a night on the streets. I was shocked that a total stranger took me in, clothed and fed me. He taught me everything he knows. I worked for 6 months and was able to make 2 million Naira. This was like a dream to me (If you get money ehn, to praise God Dey sweet o)

I came back to Nigeria, rented an apartment, furnished it and continued working from here.

This so called best friend of mine saw my posts and pictures on Facebook and video called me to check on me (I guess his eyes did not believe what he was seeing) he asked me if I am in a hotel, I said no, I am in my apartment. He was shocked (me I nor keep any grudge against you) he told me he was coming to Nigeria and that I should please forgive him and forget everything that happened. I told him I can forgive but can’t forget.

What surprised me most are this exact words he said “my guy, if I come, na your house I go relax first abeg”

Now my fellow Nairalanders, I am asking, how should I go about this?

I have forgiven him but should I allow him into my home?
You can get a place for him, but don't stay together, he has ulterior motive. He probably want to finish what he couldn't do you in the foreign land.

CrimeHeads May Roll In EFCC Over Benue Shawarma Dealer’s Arrest- PUNCH NEWS by tkgindofa(op): 9:55pm On May 14, 2020
John Charles, Makurdi

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has vowed to investigate the arrest of the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Star Shawarma, Ms Mnena Ato, by its operatives in Makurdi, Benue State.

Ato was arrested by the operatives of the commission alongside her accountant and one of her salespersons over a N1,600 transaction.

The anti-graft agency promised to punish any of its personnel found to have acted unprofessionally with regards to the arrest.

In a statement by the Head, Media and Publicity, Dele Oyewale, the commission said it had commenced investigation into the circumstances of Ato and the others’ arrest and vowed that it would not leave any stone unturned in ensuring that all facts related to the incident were unearthed.

The anti-graft agency said it was not in its character to act arbitrarily as it was always guided by best global practices in its operations.

The statement read in part, “The commission wishes to assure members of the public of its commitment to global best practices and professional conduct of all its officers and men.

“As the commission continues to pursue its mandate of ridding the nation of economic and financial crimes, appropriate sanctions will be applied to whoever is found to have acted out of character regarding the Benue arrest.”

Meanwhile, Ato said her employees reported at the commission’s office on Monday as instructed, but they were asked to go back.

“The manager and the accountant reported at the EFCC office today, but they were told to go, that the agency will communicate with us later,” she said.

Attempts to get more information from her were not successful as she politely declined making further comments, expressing fear that security operatives might be monitoring her.

Ato had earlier stated that an officer of the EFCC visited her shop to purchase an item worth N1,500.

She explained that the officer decided to pay for the item through bank transfer and instead of N1,500, she ended up transferring N1,600 to the company’s account, adding that the company did not get an alert for the transaction and when the salesman asked for payment again, the buyer felt insulted.

She had said, “This transaction took place on April 9, 2020, but when we finally got the statement of account from the bank, there was no shortfall in revenue and the person, who sold the item to the EFCC officer, got his full salary at the end of the month and I directed the salesperson to call the officer and apologise to her.

“Less than 20 minutes after my employee had carried out my instructions, operatives from the EFCC office came and occupied my company premises, insisting on picking me, the accountant and the salesman.”

PoliticsRe: The Brazen Act Of Marginalisation Of Christians In Kaduna State By Gov Elrufai by tkgindofa(m): 7:14pm On May 12, 2020
TonyeBarcanista:
THE BRAZEN ACT OF MARGINALISATION OF CHRISTIANS IN KADUNA STATE BY GOVERNOR ELRUFAI

By Tamunotonye Inioribo @TonyeBarcanista

Kaduna state, a beautiful state located in the heart of the northwest, is popularly referred to as a miniature Nigeria. This is because the state has a sharp religious demographical spread of Islam and Christianity adherents between the northern and southern zones of the respectively similar to what is obtained in Nigeria.

Muslim-Christian Demography
Kaduna has 23 local government areas spread across the northern senatorial zone, central senatorial zone and southern senatorial zone. Twelve of these 23 local government areas are predominantly Muslims while eleven are predominantly Christians. The state is also constitutionally divided into three senatorial zones, namely; northern, central and southern zones.

The northern senatorial zone, also called zone 1, consists of eight local government areas namely; Ikara, Kudan, Kubau, Lere, Makarfi , Sabon-Gari, Soba and Zaria local government areas. Of the eight local government areas in this zone, only Lere local government area is predominantly Christian, while the other seven are predominantly Muslims.

The central senatorial district, also called zone 2, is made up of seven local government areas namely; Birnin-Gwari, Chikun, Giwa, Igabi, Kaduna north, Kaduna south and Kajuru local government areas. All of these seven local government areas are predominantly Muslims except Chikun and Kajuru local government areas that are predominantly Christians.

The southern senatorial zone, also called zone 3, is made up of eight local government areas. They are; Jaba, Jama'a, Kachia, Kagarko, Kaura, Kauru, Sanga and Zango-Kataf local government areas. All these eight local government areas in this zone are predominantly Christian.

The official population of Kaduna state was put at 6,113,503 with spread as follows;
Northern Zone (Zone 1)
Ikara LGA -194,723
Kubau LGA - 280,704
Kudan LGA - 138,956
Lere LGA - 339,740
Makarfi LGA - 146,574
Sabon-Gari LGA - 291,358
Soba LGA - 291,173
Zaria LGA - 406,990
Total: 2,090,218
Central Zone (Zone two)
Birnin-Gwari LGA 258,581
Chikun LGA - 372,272
Giwa LGA - 292,384
Igabi LGA - 430,753
Kaduna North LGA - 364,575
Kaduna South LGA - 402,731)
Kajuru LGA - 109,810
Total: 2,231,106
Southern Zone (Zone three)
Jaba LGA - 155,973
Jama’a LGA - 278,202
Kachia LGA - 252,568
Kagarko LGA - 239,058
Kaura LGA - 174,626
Kauru LGA - 221,276
Sanga LGA - 151,485
Zangon-Kataf LGA - 318,991
Total: 1,792,179

From official population as seen above, the Muslim predominant north has 2,090,218, the central zone has 2,231,106 population and the Christian predominant south zone has 1,792,179 population, but there is no official fact to ascertain the true population of Christians and Muslims in the state. Nonetheless, the state governor, mallam Nasir Elrufai, a Muslim from the northern senatorial district, argued that the religious demography in the state is 70-30 in favor of the Muslims. The Southern Kaduna Peoples Union (SOKAPU), the umbrella body of the predominately Christian southern Kaduna people, put the religious demography at 50-50. While neutral observers posited that the religious demography in Kaduna state should be between an evenly 50-50 spread, or a 55-45 spread favor of the Muslims.

Political Marginalization Under Governor Nasir Elrufai
Despite the predominance of the Christian population in eleven out of the twenty three local government areas, the Kaduna state government under Governor Nasir Elrufai, a Muslim, chose to perpetuate a brazen act of marginalisation by excluding the state's Christian population from participating in the affairs of the government since the commencement of his second term. For the first time in the history of Kaduna state, no Christian is found in any of the principal positions across the three arms of government and the civil service.

Governor Nasir Elrufai started the marginalisation in 2018 when he broke the traditional Muslim-Christian ticket or Christian-Muslim ticket in any gubernatorial contests to nominate Hajiyya Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe, a fellow Muslim as his running mate for the 2019 gubernatorial election after his former deputy, Arc Bala Bantex, a Christian, opted to run for the Senate to represent the people of Kaduna south senatorial district under the platform of All Progressive Congress.

After his victory at the hotly contested Kaduna state 2019 gubernatorial election against Honourable Ashiru Kudan of Peoples Democratic Party, Governor Elrufai shut out Christians in the state from the running of government. This he did by ensuring that only Muslims are appointed as senior principal officers in the government. This is aside the fact that himself and the deputy governor are Muslims.

The principal government officers are;
Secretary to the State Government - Mallam Balarabe Abbas Lawal
Chief of Staff to the Governor - Muhammad Sani Abdullah
Kaduna state Head of Service - Hajiyya Bariatu Yusuf Mohammed
Principal Private Secretary - Dr. Salisu Suleiman.

No Christian Among The Entire Presiding And Principal Officers In Kaduna House of Assembly
The marginalisation continues in the legislative arm of government with no single Christian as a member of any of the presiding and principal offices . The Speaker of the House, Honourable Yusuf Tanimu Zailani, the Deputy Speaker Honourable Muktar Isa Hazo, the Majority Leader Alhaji Haruna M A Inuwa, the Chief Whip, Alhaji Idris Abdullahi, the Deputy Majority Leader Alhaji Shehu Yunusa and Deputy Chief Whip Alhaji Salisu Isah, are all Muslims. Meanwhile, the clerk of the Kaduna state House of Assembly, Bello Zubairu is also a Muslim.
Also The Judiciary...
The head of Kaduna state judicial arm of government and Chief Judge of the state, Justice Muhammad Lawal Bello, is also a Muslim.
As if that is not enough, the only two ministers from Kaduna state in the cabinet of President Muhammadu Buhari, Zainab Ahmed, the minister of finance, and Muhammad Mahmoud, the minister of environment were chosen from the Muslim population.

The development in Kaduna state is indeed a bad omen. It is bad that a state with significant Christian population that are predominant in eleven out of the state's twenty three local government areas, has no senior principal government official across all the three arms of government of the state. What is more disturbing is that Governor Nasir Elrufai, the perpetrator of this brazen act of religious marginalization in Kaduna state, is aspiring to run as presidential candidate at the Nigeria's Presidential election at the termination of his second term in 2023.

See the problem with Nigeria. They so called people appointed, aren't they from Kaduna? Does religion of the person really matter?
The important thing is that they carry out their function properly. If they err, they should be sacked and replaced but that law doesn't hold forte in Nigeria. As far as am aware, there is calm in Kaduna politics today, they aren't complaining so I don't understand why Tonye is crying over spilt milk. I was in Kaduna recently and Elrufai is working whether you like it or not you can't hate the man. If the trusted people carrying out this developments are Muslims, so be it.
Stop lying ;who says they are not complaining?
God is watching everything that is happening, at His own time he shall judge everything.

On the Suspected Herdsmen Attack on Bayo Famonure and His Family

By: Deji Yesufu

At 7:45pm on Tuesday, 3rd May, 2020, gunmen suspected to be Fulani herdsmen, invaded the home of Rev. Bayo Famonure. Bayo Famonure is a seventy-year old pioneer missionary with CAPRO international ministries in Gana Ropp, a community on the outskirts of Jos, Plateau State. Uncle Bayo, as he is popularly called, had just completed the evening devotion with his wife and two sons and they all retired to their rooms. Bayo Famonure was in his study reading the Bible when armed men, suspected to be Fulani herdsmen, broke into his home and headed straight for him. In an obvious assassination attempt, eight men entered Uncle Bayo’s study brandishing AK47 machine guns. They drew him out of the chair to the center of the room. After demanding the whereabouts of other people in the house and getting no meaningful response from him, the attackers opened fire on Uncle Bayo. He was shot in the head at close range (within five meters). Believing he was dead, the gunmen went to the other rooms in the house. They found A’dua, one of Uncle Bayo’s sons, and were about to abduct him when his mother (Uncle’s wife) and his brother resisted them. In the process the gunmen shot the woman in the back and the two boys in the leg. In the frenzy that followed and realizing that the sounds of their guns would have attracted security men and neighbors around, the gunmen fled the home of this missionary couple.

Bayo Famonure is a man I know very well. He is family—the elder brother of my wife’s mother. As a man of God, he has all these years offered spiritual oversight to his family and even the extended family. He is a man that is much beloved and respected in the family.

Beyond family life, Uncle Bayo was a pioneer missionary with CAPRO Nigeria. Following his bachelor’s degree and having gone to serve in Zaria in Kaduna State in the early 1970s, Uncle Bayo had abandoned secular work and headed into the dirty waters of mission works. He did not choose the cozy environment of Lagos or Ibadan or Port Harcourt; rather he went to the hostile communities of Zaria to serve Jesus Christ. And he has been at this since then, moving to Gana Ropp in the Jos area sometimes in the 1990s to serve the Lord.

Uncle Bayo’s vision in ministry had been primarily to serve Jesus Christ by sharing the gospel with his host community. A missionary to the core, Bayo Famonure had wholly depended on Christ for sustenance in ministry. He and others worked with CAPRO from a fledgling missionary organization to the household name it has become today. It was in the middle of serving the Lord that this attack came on him and his family. The good news is that despite shooting him, his wife and two sons at close range, they all survived miraculously. The bullet to his head did not penetrate his skull and the one to his legs did not shatter a bone.

The question that this article ponders on is this: how long will these attacks continue?

First, there is the political matter of whether or not to label these attackers “Fulani herdsmen” or “suspected Fulani herdsmen”. There is a world of difference between these two terms. One’s traducers will respond by saying that no one else was in the house with the Famonures to corroborate their allegations that it was Fulani herdsmen who attacked them. Others will reply: how come only one ethnic group has been alleged of these killings since they began a few years ago?

There is also the political question of how come Fulani herdsmen attacks were almost nonexistent until the coming of this present administration? It appears, some argue, that the presence of Buhari at the helms of affairs in this country has emboldened his kinsmen to do as they please. Up till the time of writing this, there has been no Fulani herdsman prosecuted let alone convicted for these crimes. Another person will reply by saying that it was probably because the Fulanis are not culpable. Or, is it because our law enforcement agents have turned a blind eye to the violence?

Now let us get certain things clear as citizens of this country. Nigeria as presently constituted is a secular state. It means it is neither Christian nor Muslim. The nation’s constitution allows people to practice whatever religion they wish. This also includes freedom of gathering and association.
The concept of a modern secular state followed years of religious wars in Europe. After Martin Luther disrupted the peace of Europe in the sixteenth century with the coming of the Protestant religion, Europe was plunged in religious crisis. Following the 30-year war that ended in 1648 and destroyed most of Germany, Europe began to toy with the idea of religious toleration. It meant that in a modern state people could practice whatever religion they wished. It is this concept that the Americans further developed, thus leading to the practice of separating the State from the church.

What toleration means is that every citizen of a country can practice their religion. Every citizen can seek proselytes of other religion to theirs. But no one must be coerced against practicing the tenets of his religion. Religious proselytization must also start with words and end with words. No one uses the sword or gun to propagate his religion in modern times. Even modern Islam, at least in enlightened nations, has jettisoned the idea of spreading religion with the sword. This is why most Muslims abhor the Boko Haram ideology. The modern state has tolerance at the heart of religious practice.

With this in mind, one must then call on the authorities in this country to address the violation of the rights of one man, Rev. Adebayo Famonure, to practice his religion in freedom. The Nigerian state, which we all belong to and in which we are tax payers, has the responsibility of protecting its citizens. And this protection begins with fishing at the persons who have sought to snuff out life from Uncle Bayo and his family. The Nigerian state should also kindly work hard at bringing an end to the usage of this word “suspected”. This word has offered undue alibi to hundreds of criminal figures to perpetrate all kinds of evil on law-abiding Nigerians. Let us know, once and for all, what these animals in human skin want and let the country settle this question forever. We cannot be battling Boko Haram without and Boko Haram within. The government will do well to attend to these issues.

The last thing anyone needs at these times of the Coronavirus pandemic is an attack on their lives and then spending unnecessary time in the hospital. As I write, Uncle Bayo and his family are recuperating in the hospital. This country owes this family a duty to protect them. Indeed we all deserve to live in safety and peace in our own country.

Disclaimer: This article are my personal observations on the attack on the Famonures. It is not the family official statement on it. Thank you.

RomanceRe: Her Mother Said She Can't Marry An Ebonyi Man by tkgindofa(m): 5:26pm On Apr 21, 2020
Giwoni:
My Love Experience

Good day NLanders

I'm a medical student, and gf ( not sure what to call her now) is in MLS. We are both in same level (500l).

It all started in 2015, when we gained admission into the University. We began to read together and subsequently I started teaching her. Later on, she made me to read and susummarize her course topics (which I did for up to her 300 level) for her as she usually found it difficult to read with textbooks and understand the contents.

Months before my 2nd MBBS examinations, I began to notice changes in her attitude and behaviour towards me, up to the point that she told me that if I did not pass that examinations that, she will forget about me. But as God may have it, I passed successfully.

Financially, it started right in year one as I celebrated her and her mummy's Christmas from my own pocket. It got to a point that I usually give her her money almost every day (for up to 5yrs) Whenever, I'm traveling in any of our vacations, I usually give money for upkeep until I'm back.

In 300l, I bought her gift worth almost 30k and also celebrated her birthday which she demanded I get her 'point and kill cat fish' that cost 9k.

I usually pay for her textbooks and seminar work as we are all in medical school, I really do a lot for her, as she always told me she would never leave me right from yr 1 to 500l after which she started telling me, their people from Anambra will not let her marry people from Ebonyi State.

She's has known this for all her life, but decided to bring it up just now, when I'm beginning my marriage plans with her, She's started giving me unnecessary excuses in one form or the other.

In 400L, my elder brother told me that I should leave my medical school here to go and study the same medicine abroad. Because of her, I told him that I want to finish my school here since I am already in 400 level. That after my MBBS degree, I can then go abroad for my Masters degree...

This January, my elder brother told me that since I would be graduating in 2022 (which supposed to be 2021 but due to strike before the 2019 election) which is two years time, that I should be planning to get married before I leave this country.

This made me to ask her again if we are ending up together and she told me that she has to seek for her mother's consent, and would give me a feedback.

Before, she travelled (this is just before the lock down) as she was complaining that she does not have any money on her to eat and she want to go and learn how to plait hair which will cost her #8,000, I gave her #16,000. The next day after collecting the money, she told me that she received a call from her mother that she must come back to her State and she travelled with that money without learning anything.

Yesterday by 8:24pm, I called her to tell me the outcome of her mother's discussion with her. She told me that her mother insisted that she cannot marry an Ebonyi man, and she cannot go outside her mother's decision.

In conclusion, she told me that she cannot marry me.

Well, as expected, I'm bracing myself up for insults, (I really don't mind this right now) but amidst the insults, pls advice a brother who's fighting emotionally.

thanks
Give her some benefit of doubt, say 2-3 months, then let go the relationship; a broken courtship is better than a broken marriage. But remember, karma will certainly pay her a visit ohhhhh...
FamilyRe: My Wife Has Turned My Children Against Me by tkgindofa(m): 6:58pm On Apr 20, 2020
Paul8000:
Good evening ladies and gents...

My name is Paul, I am married to my beautiful wife Vivian by name for the past 16 years . We have 5 wonderful children together Jemima 15, Isaac 12, Elizabeth 9, Samuel 6 and Tabitha 3. We are based in Liberia. We both are working and earning well by God grace. I have few issues with my wife that brought me here to get some advice.

Anytime my wife and I had some misunderstanding, she does involve the children. The oldest 3 she tells them everything including how I cheated on her, she also feed them with lies that I am a bad man and I want to kills her. She tells them so many things to make them hate me. They will disrespect and keeping malice with me to the extend of if I send them for errands, she will stop them and tell them not to go. No matter how much I shouted at them to go, they will not obey me because their mother has the final say. For example my wife and I are having some misunderstandings for over 3 weeks now, we are not talking or sleeping in the same room. I have tried to makes things works for us but she refused.

The children are also keeping malice with me. I sent Elizabeth to go and get some water for me, she obeyed and went to the kitchen, few moments later she came back empty handed staring at me in shock. I asked her what about the water she said her mother said I should go in the kitchen to get the water myself . At that moment I just couldn’t take it anymore I exploded in anger I went to the kitchen we had a heated arguments she pour water on me I really wanted to hit her so hard but I control my anger and walked away.

I left the house for 3 days to cool down. because I was so angry with her I just wanted to be alone. I then went home after 3 days,my 3 oldest children acted like they hadn’t seen me they were busy with their phone/ tablets and it was only my 2 youngest that were missing me they both hugged me like never before me. My youngest daughter refuse to leave my room she even slept in my room. I could see how much she misses me. My wife on her side acted like nothing too her normal behaviour as usual . For the sake of my 2 youngest children I sat her down and talked with her. How we should makes things better for the sake of our children especially the younger ones.

I have apologized to her on my knees all to no avail. I am tired of my wife turning my children against me they have becoming out of control ... I can’t correct them it pains me a lot to see my own children disrespecting me. I don’t want them to grow up and hate me all their life I want to have my family back. A happy home how we used to be before but my wife don’t want to cooperate with me I thought this lock-down will bring us together so we could sorted out our differences and fix our marriage to become better but all to no avail.

I am writing this sitting inside my car in the compound because I can’t even go inside the house because I have nobody to talk to my 2 youngest children that keeps me busy are asleep. I am so lonely all alone please how can I put an end to all this I am fed up ...

Anyone who has ever experienced something like this can you please advice me on how did you overcome this. I hope I was brief enough...
With God All things are possible; go back to him and your marital issues will be resolved. Involve your families, spiritual leaders and go for family counseling.

To my young sister's reading this please be contented with what your man gives to you. The course of sholas death was so painful when I heard but please my dear sister dont date a Yahoo boy for any reason or even go out with one.

I tell you Yahoo doesn't work again and what they do now is Yahoo plus and some of this guy's are heartless and don't care about anyone than just to make that fetish money amd they would use you and any other girl they find to keep that money coming.
