GBTYO: How long is it between Aug, 1985 and the time whens IBB promoted himself to a 4-star General (even ahead of Domkat Bali his senior)? IBB spent 8 yrs as the HOS, but he was already a 4-star General as at 1987 (not up to 20 months since assumption of office as the HOS). Never was any time in between this period when he was a 3-star General. The point I am making here is that Buhari could have as well promoted himself to a 4-star General after 20 months of becoming the HOS, after all he chairs the SMC during this period. |

Politics / Re: Magu Visits Lawal Daura In SARS Office After His Sack As DSS Boss by tmanuelle(m): 9:13pm On Aug 09, 2018 |
seborrhic: Daura was held at the FSARS facility because he was primarily arrested by mobile policemen at the Villa. NPF don't make arrests and detain suspects at the facilities of other security agencies, same way the DSS will not detain their suspects at a police station. If such will happen, their will be an official handing over of such suspect to the sister agency Daura was visited by Magu because he has a corruption case on certain undeclared and mismanaged N20B Ekpeyong left in office as DG, SSS. The same reason why EFCC wanted to raid Ekpeyong's house some months ago. Do not forget that Daura frustrated that move by drafting DSS guys to Ekpeyong's house that very day to repel the EFCC guys. Do your research. There is no investigating agency named NSA. DSS should investigate national security issues and EFCC should investigate graft issues. |

Dotwillis1: That's the point where you got it all wrong. It's Fayose against Fayemi all along. Eleka is a puppet, he's been wired to do his master's bidding. Fayose wants a third term, so Eleka will become the governor but Fayose will be running the government. This is too obvious and this is the more reason why Fayose will not win this election. 5 Likes 2 Shares |

BeeBeeOoh: Be reasonable, with intelligence, you don't go and confront criminals in their hideouts when they are most prepared. You always plan to get them when they least expect, hence this particular guy and other killed criminals were probably having a nice time or sleeping when the security agents moved in on them - the reason why he is unclad and with bed sheet. |

Business / Nigerian Start-up Develops Anti-smuggling Solution For The Nigerian Customs by tmanuelle(m): 1:16pm On Oct 05, 2017 |
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1sm670b0xv0 I came across this piece put together by a Nigerian out of patriotism on the menace of car smuggling and how it can be curbed by the Nigerian Customs. We need to encourage innovative minds like this. Please share until it gets to the CG of the Nigerian Customs Service. As copied: Electronic Customs Duty Valuation and Clearance Certificate System is an hybrid technology driven solution that uses artificial intelligence, mobile and smart card technology to curb the menace of motor vehicles' smuggling and other associated challenges in Nigeria while blocking the annual revenue leakages of about $1 Billion. Limitations and Missing Links in the Past Efforts of Nigerian Customs; 1) The conventional paper clearance documents issued by customs authority are prone to forgery and manipulation. 2) Inability of the stakeholders to proffered a transnational solution (solution that involves active participation and cooperation of both federal and state government agencies across in elimination of motor vehicle smuggling.) 3) The larger percentage of the prospective motor vehicle buyers in Nigeria cannot differentiate between a smuggled motor vehicle and properly cleared motor vehicle at the point of purchase. 4) Official of motor licensing agencies cannot distinguish fake customs clearance documents from the original one at the point of registration. 5) Smuggled motor vehicles are easily getting registered across Nigeria. 6) Other limitations are not limited to lack of political will, corruption, inadequate budgetary provision, institutional mediocrity but poor project conceptualization and implementation Our Solution and How It Works 1) Customs Duty Evaluation Module: this enables the Customs to know the exact value of any imported motor vehicle while automatically calculates the accurate duty value of the vehicles through machine intelligence towards elimination of persistent under-declaration of vehicle value by the importers and also undervaluation of duty payable by the corrupt officials. 2) Electronic Duty Clearance Certificate Module: this enable the Customs to issue a smart card that is not clone-able as an evidence of duty payment and custom clearance instead of the current paper-based clearance documents that are prone to forgery and manipulation. 3) Mobile Clearance Verification Module: this module enables the members of the public to verify the clearance status of imported or locally built motor vehicle through mobile USSD before buying from the dealers or importers 4) License Registration Module: this enables the licensing agencies across the country to verify the clearance status of motor vehicles through their designated card reading terminals before issuing the number plates and other documents; Therefore owners of new vehicles most come to licensing offices with issued smart card as an evidence of customs clearance operation no card no vehicle registration' 5) Supervisory and Monitoring Module; it enables the government to remotely monitor issuance of cards and registration of motor vehicle processes towards transparency and accountability Developed $ Presented By: ECDCC Technologies Nigeria Limited www.ecdcc.com 2 Likes 3 Shares |

Cooly100: You are wrong man, that guy, Kanu, and his group wants Biafra, not restructuring. Yoruba leaders, especially the Progressives and the so called Awoists have always wanted this and they have been vocal about it because they have always wanted things to go back to the good Awolowo days. The technicalities and the politics involved in the restructuring is what the FG has not figured out as to whether it is viable or not, maybe for their selfish interests, I do not know. So you are advised to direct your hatred and disappointments appropriately and stop being mischievous. |

I am a Yoruba man and I am aware of the message the poster is trying to pass across. But then, Has anyone thought of it as that the woman was probably passing an information to the Acting President and she couldn't have sat down between the Minister and the VP or stood up while relating with Osinbajo in the middle of the programme?
