@tundesto, Pls is it true that a new intake into the Federal Civl Service will only be paid basic salary for the first two years of appointment? I just into one of the River Basin Devpt Authorities, a parastatal in the Fed. Min. of Water Resources. GL 08, III. The monthly basic is around 59k+, but I like to know if I am also entitled to allowances now or until after confirmation of appointment. How soon can I expect my first salary arrears? I'm already on month 3 now but we haven't been 'captured' yet. Thank you bro 1 Like |

Hijacking an aeroplane, forcing the pilot to keep flying at gun point; or even flying a passenger plane by terrorist is not the same as flying a fighter jet, it's a serious airforce personel business. The training is more rigorous with a very higher level of sophistication. Horus: |
Romance / Re: Seven Reasons Why You Should Never Get Married - For Guys Only by tmanuelle(m): 9:14am On Nov 05, 2014 |
...just like I was tellinig a female friend yesterday evening, posts like these are not necessarily instructive as to what you should do but to open your eyes to realities unlike what obtains in some books, Telemundo/Nolly/Ghally/Bolly/Hollywood situations. For example, the post No. 5 is so on point, but that's no justification for me to stay single. As a matter of principle, don't talk to me about marriage when you have got nothing to offer. Go get a job first, I am not your daddy. You have read, it's your choice to compromise or not...but I will get married when I am convinced that all is set. 9 Likes |

Remarkable: Don't go there I am trying as much as possible to be diplomatic here, but I won't let this misplacement of the meaning of "fled" pass. Brigadier Ogundipe went underground in the event of mutiny (courtesy: Mohammed, Danjuma)...called back to represent the Nigeria in the UK until his death in 1971. Have you heard of "live to fight another day"? Obasanjo got a bullet wound, but fought till the war ended. Adekunle fought, then "lived to fight another day" Losing a battle is not the same as losing the war, they don't mean the same thing. Ojukwu left the country, because he couldn't finish what he started, could not risk being captured neither can he do the needful, like Hitler did, he could only come back after the state pardon...He lost the war. 3 Likes 1 Share |

waternogetenemy: But who was IBB in this picture? Well may be a battalion officer when Adekunle was a Divisional Head...They were never contemporaries and ofcourse, no correlation. Gowon feared the Black Scorpion so much that they were only waiting for the best time to push him out of the Military...Always use the library. You don't know that OBJ was never an ally of the Black Scorpion? Obasanjo envied & hated him so much in the military, it all started when Adekunle though OBJ's course mate proceeded to Sandhurst when OBJ only get to Mons...Now you know Danjuma didn't fight on the 3MCO front. Though on the same side, but can you ascertain their ideologies? Danjuma was instrumental to Ironsi's and Fajuyi's death in the events that preceded to the war, while Gowon (the then Chief of Staff, Army HQ) denied his C-in-C in the event of a coup. Have you ever thought about possibility/practicability of the Mohammed/Obasanjo/Danjuma's take over from Gowon if people like the Black Scorpion were still in the Military? The Black Scorpion was only a soldier and a fine one in the line of duty without any political ambition back then and before his death unlike these officers (including Mohammed afterall, they all ruled us at different times) you have mentioned who feared him so much in his days. How then do you think the late war hero can be in their good books? Leave people coming out to exhibit their hypocrisy out of this. They might not have being invited. I wasn't surprised when Shuwa, who fought gallantly in the 1st Division during the war was murdered in cold blood by the insurgents and the Nigerian Army didn't bring the Boko Haram insurgency to a halt within three days as a sign of respect to the late Army General...Nigeria the land of 'possibilities' Adekunle deserves much more then he has got from Nigeria since after the war...You are only important if you are in the political sphere. He will be a happy general today when he looks back on his final journey to rest to note that only the dignitaries with integrity & pure heart not marred with corruption & politics has bade him farewell. I am a Yoruba man, and a proud one but I am making my contributions here as a Nigerian The Black Scorpion remains a hero in the Nigerian front while the Ikemba remains a hero in the Biafran front. No Victor, No Vanquished. God bless Nigeria. 4 Likes

The Ondo State PDP is heading for a doom because of this singular mistake that had been made in Abuja. The point is Mimiko can always mobilise & form another party if his interest is no longer protected in PDP after he must have taken them back to the days of 'in-fighting' & disarray. He is a player & only the naive ones will be fooled. God bless my origin, God bless Ondo State. 4 Likes 1 Share |

On the point No. 10, in as much as I will agree with you that a virgin will be highly respected by her man in marriage, I disagree with your conclusion. Virginity doesn't make a marriage, it's your qualities, your values. That you are a virgin as at the time of wedding does not make you a good wife. 4 Likes |

naptu2: Yes sir, a complex - comprises of a couple of structures, the VP's wing, and all that. But does the president live in all these structures? He definitely must have a designated wing for himself, his family, his office and his details (that's why I used "Presidential Palace" in my post). Note: I am not taking this whole thing personally. No problem if I learn from you, that's the essence of a forum. I have asked myself so many times; how does the Aso Rock Villa look like? 1 Like |
Foreign Affairs / Re: Presidential Villas Across The World.(pictures) by tmanuelle(m): 1:29pm On Aug 29, 2014 |
chronique: Funny enough,I like the fact that you can't get to see pics of Aso rock online except you visit the place physically. I also like the fact that it's not a place anybody can visit easily. If it was,who knows what kind of embarrassment boko haram would have caused us by attempting to attack this building? Nigerians are so sentimental and majority of us lack proper reasoning and fail to dissect issues properly, before commenting on them. We always want things in Nigeria to be done the way you have them in America and Britain(which is not a bad idea),but do not live like them/have the same patriotism like them. They have a united front and will do anything to support each government that comes to power;they are not divided along religious/ethnic/tribal lines. But in Nigeria, every government that comes into power and is headed by a man from a certain part of the country, automatically becomes an enemy of another part of the country. I believe Aso rock was built with all that secrecy,to prevent the govt of the day from being toppled via a coup d'etat;not necessarily to prevent a foreign invasion. When the military built this,I'm not sure they were envisaging a civilian president without military background, coming to live in it. Today,it's been a sort of blessing to the current president, and would still be to subsequent civilian presidents. With all that has happened in Nigeria these past few years,I doubt if attempts wouldn't have been made to either topple the govt,or assassinate the president. Bros you are mixing up many things. The bone of contention here as most people will agree with me is that we want to have an idea of what the Presidential Palace looks like, not about tourism or visit as I totally support the heavy security to control access to the facility because of the nature of things around here. There should at least be a published picture, same way we have those of the NASS Complex and the Supreme Court. Having access to the picture is not the same as having the coordinates of the location of the president's chamber in the villa, it's not the same as knowing the geometry of the bunkers we have there in, it's not the same as knowing which wall is concrete/armoured/electrified or which is ordinary bricks, its not the same as knowing where we have armoured or ordinary doors installed... That's too much of secrecy sir. 1 Like |

naptu2: What's important right now is that a lot of us want to see a typical picture of the Aso Rock Villa (the Presidential Palace), not some hill, not some interior pix, not some walkway, not some president's 'oval' office, not some banquet hall pix, not some FEC meeting hall. We see some of these things on NTA news every other day. We want to see a true representation of where our president lives. I have never being to London neither have I seen Washington DC in my sleep, but I do recognise the Buckingham Palace and the White House and some other "Power Houses" in the world whenever I see them in pictures, even without a label. Can anyone lay hands on this picture(s) without being arrested and charged for national security threat/terrorism? That's the essence of the thread boss. 1 Like |
